quick video today on deleting a file that won't delete.
💡Getting rid of unnecessary PC file or Desktop items is vital to organize your windows machine.😀
Love your videos, much prefer to watch your way of doing things. Just wondered if you could tell me how to remove program that is BLOCKED on windows and won't let you remove it which was previously installed when computer was Windows 7?
Thanks Brian. I need help on drives. I recently discovered that I must have two drives (Local Disk C and D) in order to protect my files incase something happens to the system. My pc only has one drive (C). How do I split it into two, one with Windows and the other with my files.
THANK YOU OMG
Omg.... I tried this several times and it didn't work and I tried it one last time and it did... Thank you so much.. I really appreciate it.. And the effort taken to do this... I was so upset that it wasn't working because I tried it plus multiple other videos and this one actually worked thank you!!!!!!
I was struggling with a virus that none of antivirus could just delete, this felt so satisfactory, to remove that malware myself felt amazing, thank you so much
omg thank you, these files we're so annoying and i didn't know how to delete them, thank you so much!
Thank you so much for recommending EMCO unlock it, you're a lifesaver!
Big thanks! I was having troubles deleting many files for MONTHS!
i went and installed EMCO unlock it, it looks great. i remember when all loaders were like this. now everything tries to sell something or invade privacy. thumbs up to the ol days ;)
ty 4 ur vid and ur time and ur smarts
Did it work when you downloaded EMCO?
thanks, very clear and concise
Thank you for helping me with my stubborn file. The command prompt steps were too hard and too complicated so I just went with the emcosoftware program thank you much!
Thank you so much. I used the emco application and it worked. Everything I tried didn’t work except this.
Wow! incredibly easy! Had an EXE file that wouldn't boot nor be able to get deleted, so I did the /S function for delete on CMD and it just worked. Nice. Appreciate it :)
SAME
bro i been searching for hours to delete the NGC folder and no one mentioned this /S . it worked immediatly thank you
Same for me! Searched online for hours and, as "up chaine" said, no-one mentions this. I also did the del/s method and it worked straight away on a very stubborn jpe file. Awesome!
i don't understand how to do the /s command, can anyone tell me how to do it?
Damn! it actually did it. I've been wanting to delete those damn files for like a decade on my old HDD.
10 months later works perfectly with the softwares for me. Great video👍
Worked like a charm. Thanks @Britec09!
I was unsuccessful with running the command but I tried out the "EMCO UnLock IT" software and it was pretty much just a two step process after downloading it. Thank you for showing more than 1 way to solve my issue. Great video!
thanks for the tip. I had to use emco because the force delete would always say it could find the file. I used emco and it worked. But when I went to uninstall it, had to shutdown explorer.exe, But it didn't reopen it. I had to find a way to go into task manager and start it, but it started to flash and I had to force restart my pc. wouldn't recommend using that program again.
Thank you, very helpful and to the point!
I've had a stuborn 20GB video file that has no length that won't delete and Command didn't help. I've just used the EMCO UnLockIT programme Britec mentioned. It really does work for those pesky files/folders that refuse to budge to the Recycle Bin.
same dude
Thank you so much! I had a kali-linux iso that I couldn't get to delete from my desktop, triggering my antivirus nonstop! This is the only thing that worked to get rid of it and get my system to stop screaming at me!

Thank you! You were big help! 🤗🤗
You're welcome!
Thank You, Britec09.
Thanks man! Was a big help
Aw, thought I'd finally be able to clear duplicate data from the Windowapps folder, but force deletion can't get past access being denied.
thanks Brian, nice and easy to do as long as you can remember the file path - when you get to my age i have to copy and paste them just to be sure :-)
Stay safe!
Stay Home!
As a hand tech, all this washing your hands its ruining my career.
@@Britec09 lol yeah make sure to moisturise :-)
You can find the file via: dir C:\mfilename.ext /S /B ----- This will show the file and path in ANY directory on your C: drive, if it finds it. If you have other drives, you can do the same replacing the drive letter. When you look at the command, it looks like it only checks the file in the root, but what it does is just a bit different: it checks for a file with that name, also in the subdirectories. And, since the root of your disk has many subdirectories (well, our whole disk in fact), it looks into your full disk.
Great. Looking for that for a while. 👍
the EMCO works for me, nice thankyou
Thank you, Sir. You save my day.
That file has a virus that can’t delete.

Thanks for the tip! I use winrar to compress then delete the file or folder you just compressed.
It didn’t work for me...so I wanted to try something here’s what I did: I made a shortcut and sent both the file and shortcut to recycle bin and it worked. This video also helped
this even does not work for me
Holy crap, I deleted the file in 2 secs! Thanks for the tip!
Thanks Brian. You could also hold down the "Shift" Key then right click and "Copy as Path" and that will get you the whole path to paste into CMD. For those of us that don't like to type.
it says cannot find specified file...
Thanks man, emco program worked for me.
You sir are a very great human and i appreciate you for this, such a headache over now!

The system cannot find the path specified.
i need yor help
I’m not even kidding this video worked so well, when I was in the middle of following the instructions the file randomly disappeared
I learned a new thing. THansks
Everytime I do that it says “The system cannot find the file specified” I type in the file name exactly how it is. Ive tried case sensitive, putting underscores inbetween the words. Nothing works.
The system gives each file a different name, you have to go to the file (cd /d [file location, for example C:users\user\downloads) then find the file (dir /x), now see if it's a folder or a program, if it's a folder you use rmdir /q /s [system given filename] if it's a program use del /q /s [system given filename].
If for any reason access to remove it is denied, it's most likely a virus. For that many anti virus softwares can force remove it if you specify it to find/remove it.
YouKnowIHadToDoItToEm I have McAfee and have this virus called SAntivirus and can’t delete it’s folder how do I delete it through McAfee?
@@youknowihadtodoittoem3579 I try that but you can't run it if it's in Program Files or at least it won't let me
its not the file name you need to type.. its the name to the left of the file name.. heres an example of the file i just deleted..
File name: The Synth sounds of Donna Summer
Actual name you need to type in: THESYN~1
This drove ME MAD FOR HOURS!! :)
to the left in the CMD prompt window i mean
Just to let you know there is A much easier way to fix this issue (by using WinRAR, just set it to delete sources files/folder After achieving selected folder/files) it only takes a couple of seconds

THIS!!!!
I just did this with 7zip. Thanks you because the cmd prompt did not work
Omg thank you so much, A file needed to be deleted for another file to work but that file was open in system so i couldn't delete it but this worked like a charm.

tried but, not working
@@chandanx_21 me too
Tried, didn't work.
When I tried to delete my file,
It says "the system cannot find path specified"
Any solution?
@TelClaire wdym, please explain
@TelClaire how do I do that
Thank you so much, worked for me.
Thanks Man. It worked perfectly❤
It says "The system cannot find the path specified." somebody pls help me
You’ve most likely just written the path wrong
If you want an easy way follow this:
-You need 7zip or winrar.
1. right click the folder or file
2. go on 7zip and click "add to archive" in the dropdown menu
3. Look for the option "delete files after compression" and check the box
4. click okay. 7zip will now create a zip file and it will DELETE the undeleteable file.
5. Now you can just delete the zip file and you are done
@@luluirl YOU GENIUS ! I've been stuck for a while with this bad folder file and nothing was working. Thank you SO Much Lulu irl
In my case the CMD method didn't work, but I suspect it was because the corrupted file was on a different drive than C:\, (I did try using cd first but CMD couldn't accept the path to the file even with the drive letter amended). I went ahead and tried the EMCO UnlockIT freeware you mentioned at the end, and it worked a treat. Thanks for a helpful tutorial :)
Yeah same here, now how do i delete emco
