Thanks Ken, great video 🙌 again, great to see different albums and not the same repetition you see all over the web. Hugo Fatorusso (on the Hermeto record) is an amazing Uruguayan artist. One of the initiators of rock music in South America.
As always Ken great video tell them like it is...love it I have few original Blue Notes which I would not sell or play....I play my reissues which sound great and Fred is the man when it comes to the original Blue Note....!!!!!
Great to see the newer artists. I love that Sasha Berlinger record. The other young vibe player who is incredibly is Joel Ross of course on Blue Note. I’m pissed I missed the Blue Nite show they recently did coming through Seattle. Cheers Ken✌🏻
all your points about Blue Note are spot on. I am on a quest for all of the 15xx and 4xxx titles, and yes I am one of those guys driving these crazy prices. But nothing sounds like a first press Blue Note (on mono of course)
The information was helpful, Ken. I quipped in an earlier video that these are works of art that are highly sought after by virtue of the JRC reputation. In fact, I was trying to take the red hype sticker off the cardboard mailer (I think it says '41 Years...'), and attach it to outer sleeve as provenance. Why? Because, just like there is the Mile High collection of high grade comics, so too should there be some sort of provenance attached to a JRC record. It would be cool if you all could put some sticker on the actual record jacket on the back. That would not detract from the value. In fact, it would INCREASE the value in the secondary market. But, I think Fred's descriptions are spot on and succinct. Who knows...I might get lucky and win another JRC record...a Blue Note at that. But I think you need to ignore the vinyl knits. They don't know WTH they are talking about.
Was glad you got to meet Teddy at the shop Saturday. He found some great LPs.

Great info!
in the opening shot of this video i see Hank Mobleys early album Blue Note #1550. Was hoping they were releasing it again in 331/3....😢
Thanks for that very informative video and I dig the new bins
Appreciate learning the process of grading and listing that record. Thanks for sharing.
Lookin' good! Your apartment looks fantastic!
So excited for Immanuel Wilkins' next record. I also saw his band recently and they played all new material, was blown away.

Sasha Berliner was my first purchase from J. M. I.
Another talented young lady is Melissa Aldana. Her newest album is due out in April on Blue Note.
I interviewed her for Stereophile for her last album. She’s great.
I also purchased Nicholas Krolak great album
you are an OG supporter !!! many thanks :)

Vinyl knits?
I think he was going for vinyl “nuts.”
Anyone who challenges Fred’s knowledge is not a serious person
Really? Ken.1980 I don't think so, go back and check your files. I've had this record since the day came out.
What Record? I talked about five different records.
The Hermeto record is a reissue, as stated in the video, from far out recordings
