    When the BT connects to your phone and the dashboard light turns on with breathing blue light, you can press the power button to turn on the KQi Air without using NFC card.

    Do you have a description of what the controls on the scooter do? Pressing the start button x number of times does what? I do 2 for light on and off. Three goes from km to mph. What else? Thank you.

      @Lantea13  Месяц назад +1

      power on button:
      1x change speed mode
      2x main light on/off
      4x change from km/h to mph
      5x change to pedestrian mode
      Indicator light buttons:
      2x both indicators come on

    It's been a while since you posted this video so I can only assume you have some experience on it, so I have a few questions (about this model and maybe an older one too).
    1. How's your experience with it? It lives up to your expectations? I mean, speed wise, build quality, maneuverability, consumption (lol), etc...
    2. Is that throttle comfy? I find it a bit weird, compared to the thumb throttle.
    3. In case I don't like the turn throttle, can I change it with a thumb one (from an older model like KQ i2)? Are they interchangeable?
    4. Will you recommend buying a used one, from a seller that has NO NFC cards of it, or maybe only 1 NFC card?
    5. Question about KQ i2: So... I did an upsie and lost my driving licence for some time. To be able to get to work, I got, as a "gift" an i2 from by moss son. Problem is that he lost his phone where original app was installed (iphone), got a new phone and never connected the phone with the scooter in this time. He gave me the scooter, tried to open the app on Android, but I need a proof of purchase. He GAVE me all the documents that prove he purchased it (well not him, but someone in the family. And yes, I know them really well, it's a real purchase), yet I can't still connect with the scooter. He even tried himself from iphone to connect and show me it works (it worked before on his older phone, I know that for a fact), but to no avail. YES, I contacted customer support per email, provided those documents he sent me, yet, 1 seek later, still have no response from customer support and still can't connect with the scooter. (neither me or him)
    Is there a workaround this whole situation? Or do I have to wait and pray that they will someday respond to my email?
    6. Can we update the firmware to another location to unlock the full speed potential to Air, as we're able to do for i2?
    Sorry for long comment, it's just that I'm curious about those topics and I need another way to get to work, other than car (since I can't drive, legally, anymore).
    Thank you if you'll ever respond to my comment!

      Sorry for the late reply, was away for a bit sorting out IRL stuff.
      Here are some answers :)
      1. I really like the NIU KQi Air and its my favorite commuter scooter. The light weight combined with snappy acceleration and great stability makes it a fun and responsive ride. I am at about 1800km with it and I actually already filmed my follow up review, just need to edit it and hopefully post it soon and it will have a lot more on the KQi Air what I love, but also some things I don’t like and what NIU could improve. Keep an eye out on my channel for it, if interested.
      2. Right at the start it took some getting used to, but now it feels comfortable and easier to control than a thumb throttle, I can also control the throttle and indicator button at the same time, once I got used to it.
      3. I don’t think they are interchangeable. The throttle is part of the button assembly, so it might be quite a DIY project to get a standard thumb throttle on there and get the buttons working.
      4. If it’s in good working order and the price is right, sure. Just make sure the previous owner removes the scooter from their NIU account and that you can link it to your NIU account. That way you know it’s not stolen. You should be able to create extra NFC cards using the NIU app, but they should give you the cards with it, if they don’t have them it might be another sign it’s stolen.
      5. There is no workaround that I know of. Either he needs to get back into his NIU account and unlink the scooter so the new owner (you) can link it to your account, or NIU support has to do it for you. No other way, it’s a theft prevention protection.
      6. I have not seen anyone try this on the KQi Air, and I don’t mess with firmware mods personally, as you lose your warranty and can brick the scooter if you do something wrong.

    does your wrist get tired/sore from using the twist throttle??

    • @Lantea13
      @Lantea13  11 месяцев назад

      No it does not, you don't need much force to hold it in place. Once you get used to it its easier than a thumb throttle, imo.

    • @MerrittCluff
      @MerrittCluff Месяц назад

      On rough roads I find the wrist control not helpful. I prefer thumb control.

    So NIU scooters require either unlocking via blue tooth app, or using the enclosed NFC cards then to use? There isnt a just power on and go type mode?

    • @Lantea13
      @Lantea13  8 месяцев назад +1

      Not all NIU scooters, but the KQi Air does have added theft security, so you need to unlock it either with the NFC card or other NFC token you can create in the app, or by using the Bluetooth unlock feature with your phone. As far as I know there is no way to disable the security features and just turn the scooter on/off with the power button.

    Have you discovered that sometimes when you approach the scooter with your phone the Bluetooth doesn’t activate? And then the only way to start the scooter is with NFC card. Furthermore, once this happens you must pull the black cable out of the stem and pull the power in order for scooter Bluetooth to come back on. I’ve contacted NIU about this but heard nothing.

    • @Lantea13
      @Lantea13  6 месяцев назад

      I have not come across this issue. But I mostly use the NFC card. I did come across a different issue when I have BT connected and are walking with the scooter turned off, sometimes the BT disconnects and the scooters locks itself. I then have to go in the NIU app and reconnect.

    So if i buy one from a private seller , they can reset the settings and eveything to factory , meaning that i wont know how the batter life is ? Like how many charge cycles it has on it and what not ?

    • @Lantea13
      @Lantea13  5 месяцев назад +1

      You are not able to reset key information like number of battery cycles or number of total kilometers/miles on the scooter.
      Only custom settings and recorded rides should be gone.
      Also make sure the seller removes the scooter from their NIU account and you can link it to yours before finalizing the purchase.

    Do you think you can fill the tyres with slime? Do zu think that's necessary or are they self healing?

    • @Lantea13

      You can fill them with slime if you want. They are not self healing, to keep the weight as low as possible.

      That is a good question, not sure why NIU used a different design on the box and website images compared to the actual production model. You could try asking NIU at Global-Service@niu.com if you find out let me know as well :)

    • @Lantea13
      @Lantea13  11 месяцев назад +1

      As far as I know there us no way to get past the 25km/h EU speed lock. Plus if someone finds a way it will void your warranty, so might not be worth the hassle.

    The Bluetooth icon is not coming up on the scooter. Do u know how to reset it?

    • @Lantea13
      @Lantea13  5 месяцев назад

      When you first connect the scooter to your phone using the QR code the bluetooth connection wizard should come up, the BT icon shows only when there is an active connection to your phone.
      If that did not happen I would try to maybe unbind the scooter and connect again with the QR code, make sure your BT is active and see if it lets you connect.
      This might also help old.reddit.com/r/ElectricScooters/comments/1d668ff/kqi_air_sharing_how/l6vfvow/

    I don't know the connection between the phone and the scooter. And why do I need to activate the scooter with the phone? It's so complicated.

    • @Lantea13
      @Lantea13  10 месяцев назад +1

      It can be a bit complicated at the start, but it is to protect your scooter from theft. Once you have it linked to your account and the NIU app, if someone steals it they won't be able to use it, and it will be a brick.

    niua kq100f why does the app not work for that

    • @Lantea13
      @Lantea13  Месяц назад

      The app should work for the NIU KQi 100F, try to update the app, if you have an older version the model might not have been added yet. I don't have the NIU KQi 100F here so unfortunately can't test it further for you. If it still does not work after you check for the most recent app update, only option is to try and contact NIU support.

    • @treverpitts
      @treverpitts Месяц назад

      @Lantea13 I downloaded the app when I got the scooter and basically it says scan a QR code and when I scan the QR code it says not recognized

    • @Lantea13
      @Lantea13  29 дней назад

      Check if you find other QR codes anywhere on the scooter or packaging, with the KQi Air there were several on the packaging and only one was the one needed to link the scooter.

    • @Lantea13

      Its on the nfc card cover, also on the box with accessories, and maybe couple of other places; when you unbox the scooter you should see it right away.

    • @Lantea13
      @Lantea13  10 месяцев назад

      Sorry for the late reply, yt put your comment in the spam folder. I guess you figured it out by now, but if not, you need to turn the scooter on with the NFC card. You can turn it on with the power button only when you already have the scooter linked to your phone and have Bluetooth unlock enabled.
