Your lawn is beautiful, I’m 47 years old and haven’t been able to own a house due to illness. I dream of the day when I can have a beautiful garden like yours ❤
I don’t know what climate you’re in what kind of grass you have to be put in sand down but the normal aeration, spring and fall with over seeding and cycle and soak watering method always is the ticket
I don’t think it’d be needed really. Scalping is usually done in Texas etc on dormant Bermuda Grass lawns, to reduce the pokiness of the old stems underfoot, and to ensure the old dead foliage is under the new. Idk how dormant st Augustine grass feels.
Some says he still scalping his lawn, and hes gona keep doin it, forever and ever..

Hey Dave, quick question about the sand. Did you use mortar sand the first time? My backyard has some ankle breaking low spots as well
Golf courses use 50 screen masonry sand to top dress and if you want to match GC mix add 10% organic.
@@timmccarthy1300 thank you for the information, I really appreciate it!
Plant gardens instead of a lawns.
So down here in Texas you usually see St. Augustine grass. Can that be scalped?
Not common practice, but can be done high enough to keep. The stolons protected
Would look very weird

@avery2413 I scaled the St Augustine at my in laws place. Down to 15mm, recovered very quick, now keeping it at 17mm
😮😅😮🥳👍
Bruh, you don't think that's too much sand after all this time?
Why do you need sand for the gras?
shows low spots and the sand will eventually turn to dirt, and grass will grow in that area.
Mortar sand? Seriously 😂😂. I prefer lean ground beef to level my lawn. It also helps attract the insects 🐜 whose carcasses also help level the ground.
Just get a life
