  • During the defamation trial on Monday, Amber Heard's legal team called an entertainment consultant to testify on Heard's behalf. Kathryn Arnold testified that Johnny Depp's roles prior to the Op-Ed did not perform as well as previous roles and that the character of Jack Sparrow was exhausted of creativity. Arnold also stated that Heard incurred an estimated $50 million in losses after Depp and Adam Waldman's statements.

@@whitesandandreef4919 That's a big exception. I would argue most of what she says doesn't make sense or is pointless. The crux of her argument is that Heard is comparable to other big actors who are way above her league and Heard would have made up to $50 million. That is the basis of her argument and she keeps elaborating on it for most of her cross examination but adds nothing sensible. In addition, she seems to be so unaware of movies these actors or even Heard participated in. It is really difficult to take value in words of an "expert" who clearly lacks so much knowledge and passion about their craft.

I am sad that JD's team did not call her out on that, since it is not only completely false but also totally destroys her credibility as an expert on the industry.

Exactly! And personally I didn't hear anything negative about her until this trial. Granted, I didn't hear positive things about her, either. And I wasn't even aware that she's the one who played that Aquaman character until this trial, either. Even though I saw the movie and loved it - and even though I knew her name before Aquaman came out. I had heard of her years ago, but could never identify anything she was in. I think she just isn't a very good actor, and now she's getting older. That's a career ending combination in Hollywood. But we're supposed to believe or be convinced by this testimony that 3 tweets by some unknown attorney is what killed her career. 🙄
Yeah, no. Not at all convinced. 🤣
I've been wondering how many jurors didn't know she was in Aquaman, either. Or if any of them have never heard of her at all before now. And if that will play a role in their decision on her defamation claims.
They should find her claims aren't supported based solely on the evidence they've presented. But I still worry for JD. I worry they'll side with her due to the current climate that exists in our society, and because they're scared of the possible backlash they could face it their identity gets leaked. Not realizing he's the one who currently has most of the public support. That truly would be a miscarriage of justice...

That day was really Wayne Dennison's day. His expertise on movies, the actors, and actresses really wowed everyone in Court and his knowledge showed how he knew more about cinema than that Entertainment Consultant. It was even funny to hear him reveal an unexpected spoiler for Dune. Although seeing that Consultant revealing what happens to Amber's Mera in Aquaman 2 was staggering as the movie is not even out in cinema. I wonder how DC Films and the team behind it must have reacted when they saw that woman reveal crucial plot elements to the film. They must have been quite angry. Knowing that there have been apparently reshoots for this film, did they change that plotline to put something else? I heard that Amber was apprently replaced by another actress or that her scenes were cut out. Is it true or not? We'll see. Either way, that expert testimonial showed how biased she was because, with Johnny, she said his reputation was never attacked and hurt when it has been the case for 6 years, while she said Amber's reputation is hurt and ruined by social medias, campaigners, and activists.
Through this court testimonial, it was clear that the voices on social media and from the public terrifies Hollywood; unlike what some business men in Hollywood claim in interviews. The voices of support or protest from the public can have an impact on the careers and successes of any artist or movie/show. And what Hollywood saw from the world as millions of people protested Amber's presence scared them because it showed how the public did not support her and did not like her. Mostly due to the trials and all the revelations there, but also because of her atrocious acting skills and lack of chemistry and respect toward her colleagues.
Overall, Amber only has to blame herself for her downfall. Her downfall occured due to her bad behavior in everything she did to Johnny and others, which was reported by everybody and proven in Court, but also due to her poor acting skills, and also her atrocious behavior in Court which confirmed to everyone as to how she is indeed a terrible and vile person, but also a mythomaniac so caught up in her lies she can't help making new ones that do not make sense. In sum, she did everything so that her downfall would occur. And she succeeded.

The comparison of Amber Heards potential career trajectory to be similar to Zendaya & Gal Gadot is like comparing apples with pears.
Not only are Zendaya and Gal’s movie roles far more superior to Ambers but the way Zendaya and Gal conduct themselves during a press release, in interviews with other publications, their mannerisms when dealing with the public is so much more poised and articulate. Amber has come across many times as being passive aggressive and at times condescending when being interviewed. Her testimony is a clear example of how rude and obnoxious she is. Her demeanour does not exhibit that of someone you would want to watch or support.

I love Wayne Dennison! It’s so sad to see people comparing him with Camille Vasquez (amazing woman!) when the people they were discrediting were different, different information were available (discrediting their research vs using their words against themselves) and different strategies were being applied.
Camille goes to call out Amber on her contradictions, her lies, directly bringing up her past words.
While Wayne Dennison goes to discredit all these expert witnesses, from the root, their research methods, pool, etc. basically saying their scientific method is not scientific. Pulling things out of their butts.
I hope people didn’t comment on the way he talks 🥺, because we don’t know if it’s caused by illness, or he was born with it. It shouldn’t matter on what he is talking about 🥺 The facts he is saying. 🥺

I recently heard an attorney discussing this case say that jury instructions often include that if a witness gets caught in a lie, they can disregard their entire testimony. So at this point, I'm pretty certain nothing Amber said or claimed will be able to be considered by the jury. Which probably means nothing any of her expert witnesses testify to will matter, either, because it can't be proved that Johnny ever touched her. And that's just the biggest hurdle in a very long line of hurdles her team would have to overcome to win this case. 😂

I disagree. The witness handled herself very well, the lawyer wasn’t really getting anywhere with his questions. The point is, AH was the female lead in one of the highest grossing superhero movies of all time. Contracts WERE going to start rolling in, and she would have definitely been able to ask for a higher salary as her career progressed. It was only the bad press that destroyed her career, not showing up very late to set or showing up drunk to set or asking exorbitant fees - all things JD did.

honestly this cross exam is the best i’ve seen. the witness destroyed her own credibility (even tho i’m not quite sure why she was even called to testify by AH), and then JD’s lawyer destroys her by continuing her own comparisons and using it against her. my favorite part was when she said she had no idea the filmographies of the people she compared Amber with were. i even knew chris pine was Kirk and i’ve never ever watched Star Trek at all. also how did she not know Robert Pattinson is Batman? and she clearly broke NDA by spoiling Aquaman 2 even if it’s outdated. let’s not forget when she says “you’re a film buff” when the lawyer has more knowledge than an entertainment consultant who’s been in the industry for 20 years.
