- I've been enjoying Helldivers 2 a lot so I decided to give the exterior shots from the loading screen a bit of a makeover. Watch with sound to hear Wilbert Roget II's excellent score + some sfx.

Hi everyone,
This has gotten wayyyyyy more attention than I anticipated for something I just did for a little bit of fun. I'm glad so many people have enjoyed it, even though it is just a short clip.
To answer some common questions/comments:
1. These shots were pre-rendered and composited - no it is not a mod, nor does it use unreal engine or any other real-time renderer, therefore no, you can not run it in your game.
2. I am not suggesting that anything like this be implemented in the game. I really like the helldive sequence as it is, and to make it pre-rendered would take away from the dynamic nature of the cutscene, with the real planet, lighting conditions, amount of pods etc. that are present in your mission all showing up correctly in the loading screen. This is a massive part of why that loadgin screen is so cool and to replace that with something pre-rendered for the sake of graphical fidelity would be a misstep in my opinion.
3. The sound effects used in this clip are all just taken from the game - I haven't edited them in any way, and you can hear the exact same sound effects if you drop into a mission right now.
4. For everyone critiquing the physics/scientific accuracy of this sequence: my intention was to recreate the helldive with all the same visual elements as in the game, upgrading the lighting, composition and graphical fidelity. If you think something isn't physically accurate, you will have to take it up with Arrowhead.
Thank you everyone for all the kind comments - It's unlikely that I will make anything else Helldivers related but I'm glad to know so many people have enjoyed this!

It's great. I hope in time that they redo the realtime version of it so it's more like this. Whilst it is epic this version really shows up the official one as lacking things you ought to see like other group's Destroyers firing lasers, railcannons, etc down at the planet surface.
Also - initially I agreed with the whole "why are the capsules burning up as soon as they are launched?" but having thought about it, they are being fired down at the surface, and presumably the Destroyer is already in the atmosphere, so the friction makes sense I think.
@@Durzel Well, the capsules are not only being released but also launched, implying that the method of thrust used in the ship might induce combustion before encountering any atmospheric friction.(not sure if it can be explained this way)
Which software did u use for the composition? After Effects or even Nuke? Any recommended Plugins?
Send it to the CEO and see if they want to implement it into the game

I love seeing the other helldiver pods in the background, it really gives that sense of camaraderie and how we are Super Earths last line of offense.
It’s like when you have a skydiving scene in a movie with all the heroes, but with droppods.
It gives a sense that you're not alone. Somewhere out there, someone is fighting the same fight in a different sector of the planet. Kinda makes you wanna do your part good and hard to not disappoint the guys over there.
I like seeing the other pods dropping in the distnce, orbital lasers barrages etc. Really helps selling the point of a joint war. Even if its just animations

It's insane the black magic visual quality Arrowhead has gotten out of Autodesk Stingray. Here you have an amazing visual artist pumping out pre-rendered beauty, and if I slipped it into footage of the game, people could miss it.
You should know about prerendered beauty, Mobius 1.

Have the bugs be the surface enemies at the beginning, then as the film progresses we watch the war evolve into a bloody conflict against Automatons.

Eh decade not even close. Its definitely a decent game but I wouldn’t even call it good. Gameplay gets repetitive quick, progression gets stale, bugs get annoying real fast, crashes are frequent, and devs don’t really listen to community in terms of how they view balancing even lashing out on people that disagreed. Several better games in the decade.
Not a chance. I absolutely love this game, but there are infact better games in the timeframe of a decade. GoW, Ds3,Bloodborne, Elden ring, sekiro, rdr2, many many others are all arguably/way better in total. In terms of best shootergame within the last decade, it might actually be.
Oh god this game is good but damn it it is soooooooooooo overhyped.
I love and have played all the games you guys mentioned but in this case here having live service and devs that play along with the community is so fucking great
i love how the pod is slightly rotating as any bullet should in order to stabilize its trajectory, makes it feel much more real and immersive.

Why would it stop by the end of the drop ?
And how would the Helldivers be able to effectively steer it while rotating (especially the way it can be maneuvered through ship upgrades)
And lastly, it'd pierce through most surfaces, leaving the diver underground
(Ik, headcannon would be counter-steering to stop the rotation after getting into the atmosphere (so something we wouldn't even see), that's a lot for a really small detail that ends up being the same result we have right now anyway)
It also very, very slowly spin a little in the original
The pods can steer. So it doesn't need to spin. Look at guided missiles for ref, they don't spin.

@@thenitpickchannel9993 he might have meant that, but the thing why it would look like that realistically still, is bcs it's system is like gun launcher or rocket launcher what is so close to atmosphere, that causes at least similar effects, especially when it already starts inside the ship.

This is a cinematic masterpiece. The way the pod is fired and almost gets out of plane, like the camera is struggling to follow it, gives the spectator a sense of speed no other rendering of this kind does. It's really well put together.
Get them to replace the animation with this immediately this is so clean

Even though this one looks fenomenal, its still a prerendered cutscene.
Sorry but no, we need the realtime cutscene for the different planets, longer waiting time for moments like when its waiting for connection and party composition.

The beautiful clouds, the planet burning from the siege, there are bigger issues but it is still a nice thing to consider. Besides, pre-rendered cutscenes would be a completely different team of people than the people fixing bugs and balancing weapons.

Scenes like this make Helldivers 2 need a movie, do it right and you've made it the film of the year, trust me
I have always liked the fact that you can see the other Hell Diver pods dropping through the planet's atmosphere while yours is in mid drop. Now, imagine if Super Earth is to be invaded the amount of Hell Pods dropping through Super Earth's atmosphere as the Hell Divers return to defend the home planet!

I swear the helldivers drop pod music always gives me goosebumps, and this scene just enhances it by so much.
I just imagine that there are SEAF Soldiers fighting for survival down there in the planet by the bugs amd desperately requesting for extraction. But instead of extraction, they get salvation as a bright light emerges into the atmosphere like an oncoming fright train of liberty which pierces through the body of a Bile titan, incapacitating it before a Helldiver rises from within the pod, finishes off the Titan and lays managed democracy on all the bugs.

Looks amazing! I think the camera angle and being able to show the stark difference between the cold stars and flaming pod really gives this a sense of speed and impending impact.

A helldivers show would go crazy
An idea that I got for the main protagonist group, is that the 3 main characters go through the story as usual, while there is a 4 one that just keeps dying and being redeployed suffering comedic and really exaggerated deaths lol

This is awesome! I think the loading screens already perfect, I think the devs mentioned a first person view from inside the pod that might come later which would be insane. Regardless this looks amazing!

This is Blur Studios Halo 2 Anniversary levels of quality.
If helldivers ever become a movie, i don't want anyone to have names or faces. Just call them J1 or F2 and just have them go through mission after mission with crazy liberating action set pieces from start to end.
But the game is literally a direct adaptation of Starship Troopers already...

I temember the first time I saw the drop sequence when I got the game. I havent felt so much chills from a game before. It gave me such a patriotic feeling which I have never felt from a game before.
The sound of the helldiver pod breaking the planets stratosphere along with the soundtrack was incredible. It was a REALLY good introduction to a video game.
