THIS IS AMAZING! The storyline the colors the movement and all. I like the subtleties and how certain things were implied. You can really tell how manipulative one is and how the other falls for it with their obsession.

The sudden change in tone when she realizes how to play the situation, manipulating the other with a flimsy and dishonest confession. It's straightforward for a reason. She knows it will work. She knows her position. She knows her leverage.

Damnnn this is so amazing. The toxic behaviors from both of them make this so enticing and gripping to watch from start to finish. At first you think the long haired girl is the one in the wrong, she killed another girl to get the spot. Then it's revealed that Bac has basically been stalking her to a kinda creepy level. The long haired girl knows this and uses this information to manipulate her. And it's done so well too! She first says, "It was obvious" about Bac's love for her and then later says that she wasn't sure if she should tell Bac as she "wasn't sure she was right." These two statements contradict each other but it's done purposefully to manipulate Bac as at first she's essentially telling Bac that her stalking and keeping her hair is okay, and then getting her to forget about the horrendous act that the long haired just committed via confession and effectively securing her loyalty for covering up the murder. Such excellent writing and story in a short time period!

I’m…sorry you can’t compare murder to taking things and being clingy to someone. Yes it’s creepy but it was clearly harmless from the extent we saw it. It’s a stretch to even think of comparing the two
The fact that the murderer girl reluctently says "I care about you" and smiles knowingly when the girl that has a thing for her gors with it make her sound like she's only doing this so the other girl wouldn't rat her out.

1:55 a little theory but adding on to someone else's, but Ai's tears here are in a way empty, there's no color as there are in becs, maybe this could be to symbolize the emotion she's showing during this part is hallow and fake? AMAZING JOB BTW!!!!

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the long-haired girl murdered an innocent girl for her own selfish desires and is using her knowledge of her friend's crush on her against her to manipulate her into going along with her plan and staying silent. I mean, honestly, if she is willing to kill the innocent for something like that, she'll go for her friend next if she ever steps out of line.

1:13 wow the subtle shift in Ai’s voice and in her actions! She seemed to force herself to say she cared about the other girl, and then she brought out her acting skills (her voice pitching up, her actions suddenly exaggerated as she brings her hands to her face). She was manipulating the other girl’s love for her in order to buy her silence. Or at least that’s how it came across to me.
Then at 1:30 when she is like "god dammit I have to bring the big guns now"
It makes sense. It's a very convincing performance, but she first says "It was obvious" about her attraction, but then she says that she never did anything because she couldn't tell for sure.
The other girl is just so blown away from being confessed to that she ignores the contradiction.

Amazing, amazing film!!! Has anyone noticed except for me that the characters' names each start with A, B, and C??

1:21 I love this part so much. Her smile when she sees that her manipulation is working on Bac as she said "I care about you too!"
I could be wrong, but what if Ai is mildly allergic to flowers and only smelled one at 1:39 so she could tear up and make her performance more convincing? We see at 1:47 that her tear doesn’t have the same color at Bac’s. This could easily be an animation inconsistency, but given the attention to detail the animators have the entire film, I could be right in my assumption. Also, at the end her tears are the same color as Bac’s, meaning she actually felt emotional in that shot. I can’t wait for the creator’s commentary video to see if this is mentioned! :D
Edit: based on the responses I got, I now think the flower doesn’t really have to do with the tear, but the fact that it is not colored still comes across as that was a crocodile tear. Ai was using her acting skill to fake cry in that shot, while on the last one she was really crying.

So one's a stalker, and the other's manipulative. I honestly am already in love with this setup, and I am in deep agony wishing to see what happens next! Superb storytelling! I absolutely adore how it begins literally at the scene at the crime, and you get snippets of their motives and characters in these flashbacks, and how they collaborate together in flash-forwards. Argggh, it just makes me desire a show of this!
I love that when Bac puts her hands over Ai's, it looks like she's covering her ears, "Hear no evil".

I’m sorry I changed the likes from 444 but I had to do it
woah...WOAH. This plot is insane. It hits like a brick. So many things are unknown, but from what we the audience have witnessed, this is a story of murder, betrayal, manipulation, love, triumph, and desperation. So many emotions, so many obstacles. And the art! Oh the art perfect. Smooth simple lines for expressions of such a complex nature. Beautiful soft, almost pastel colors, clashing with the final scene of jarring neon magneta and daunting blue. Bravo to everyone involved in this project!
I do hope you expand on this story. It left me so intrigued as to what comes next.
That remorseless manipulative psychopath behavior was executed very well in this short.

When the other girl picked that flower, it was subtle, it was small but it was genuine
It’s so obvious the bloodied girl is using her and yet I feel like maybe, in another life where she didn’t up and murder someone, but that isn’t to say the other girl doesn’t have any metaphorical blood on her hands either, she’s obsessed to an unhealthy degree and it makes me think that even if this incident didn’t happen, they still wouldn’t be a happy couple, nor would they be happy people,
It’s only been two and a half minutes but damn, Ai is such a great villain already. Manipulated Bac with such _ease,_ poor Bac doesn’t even realize how destructive this relationship already is.
This managed to convey so much in so little time, what an amazing feat. I too would love to see a continuation should you feel so inclined, this is great 👍

They were both in the wrong, not just Ai. Bac stalked her and stole her hair, which is not a good thing, and Ai used her love to manipulate her.
@@och8516 That I won’t deny. But I also wouldn’t say she deserves emotional manipulation because of it. A police report, yes; but not getting roped into being an accomplice when the girl she likes turns out to be of the murdering type. It’s almost like a Joker/Harley situation, where neither of them are stable or virtuous, but one of them _is_ more sympathetic due to the other taking advantage of them.
I’m very aware that Cam is the real victim, but Bac does have my pity. Taking advantage of her feelings was an awful thing for Ai to do (and no, I do not believe for one second that the feelings are actually mutual; otherwise why didn’t she say anything about it before this? Ai is just really good at thinking on her feet and knew that leading her on would guarantee Bac’s silence without leaving behind more evidence than she needs to).

why don't more people just burn the bodies of the victims they kill? Along with all their clothing, weapons and other evidence. Seems like an easy way to get rid of any proof you did the crime. I mean it's not like it's hard to make fire these days. Or maybe completely burning a body requires a lot more heat than I expect.

I love how as the killer is saying "I'll always love you, we're doing this for us" the music sounds romantic and whimsical in the melody and has other darker/sinister sounds (distortion, dissonance) to mimick the ulterior motive in the newfound relationship. It all goes so well together well done!!

Wow. Just, wow, this embodies a feeling of dread and intrigue I can’t properly lay a finger on. It made me feel very keenly in mere minutes, and it’s phenomenally done. Genuine masterpiece.

Goddamn this animation is a masterful demonstration of a manipulative psychopath. Willing to do everything and anything, crossing all moral lines to get what they want, and yet in all their numbness are able to perfectly twirl a vulnerable victim around their finger. Chilling.

2:05 I might over-analyzing, but do you notice how the colors in the river go from pink to purple and blue? Just like the Bisexual flag. It could represent their love and comradery concealing the murder. Or maybe it represents the woman using the other's love to get her own ends. What do you think?

Such a fresh spin of a narrative! Themes and layered dynamics like this are rarely shown with such simplicity, let alone pulled off, but this film almost feels like it trusts the audience enough to let their mind finish the story, while making them want more at the same time. Great work!
Okay, this is my fifth watch and I think I noticed something at 2:25
There is this sound effect that plays, it gets louder and louder. This sound effect was also played when Bac said "I care about you too!" and also here when they are sitting together in front of the fire. Does this sound have to do with Ai's manipulation getting to Bac? The sound played when Bac started to fall for it, and played when Bac completely fell for it.
Poor girl, although she is a bit creepy, I still feel bad for ber. This relationship is already so toxic, and seeing how Bac completely missed the manipulation coming from Ai, something tells me this definitely won't be the last time it happens.
This animation is amazing! It's so condensed and tells so much story so quickly. But each twist adds up. The initial shock of the murder and the weak justification so we initially sympathize with the witness's horror. Then we see how she's toxic too, and we get the power shift as the witness is swayed so easily over to murderer's side.
And then that they are crying together even as they don't seem to have any regret for the murdered girl. So intense!
that was crazy but so captivating and the shots and colors are really well done and pretty!!
Got me hooked from beginning til the end. The highlight of these animation for me was 1:24 where the confession and the bg music made the atmosphere feel dangerous and unnerving before finally turn into a moment of love sort of.

This is amazing. just wow. The way she manipulated her with her feelings really got me.
Man, the colors and backgrounds of this are seriously underrated. They integrate with the story in a very unique way, like they should be out of place but ultimately serve it perfectly.
It's the little smile and the eye movement, after she dramatically turns away, once the obsessive girl says she cares about her too that gets me.
So manipulative and emotional! I love it!

This is so disturbingly beautiful - it's a story of love, potentially guilt/shame, manipulation, desperation, obsession and delusion.
This was super well done, and I’m glad the comments are acknowledging the toxicity of this relationship and not just blindly praising it for being WLW.
I LOVE THIS AND CAN’T WAIT FOR THE BEHIND THE SCENES VIDEO! 💕It’s only about 2 minutes long and I’m already invested lol, the story and characters are interesting. Long haired girl seems manipulative and just using other girl’s feelings to get away with murder, wondering if she actually has any feelings at all for the other girl.
It's hard to tell how she feels about the other girl, but I think that while she does care about her on some level, the look on her face when she first brings up the stalking shows disgust before she hides it through a careful monotone, then the obvious manipulation with the "I wasn't sure I was right" and so on. And I'm not 100% sure, but notice how Ai's (the long haired girl) tears are clear while the other girls are blue? I think that was supposed to show they were fake tears. And later when they were next to the fire her tears are blue, so I think that was a purposeful choice. What those purposeful tears mean could be a lot: relief, fear, appreciation, exhaustion. But not love.
I want a full series. This is awesome. Holy shit. I've never had a short engage me as much as this. It's incredible. Just wow. I love how they're both just...so mentally messed up. I love that. Not to mention how technically incredible it is. I'd love to see your storyboards.
They are pretty messed up like ones a stalker and the other is a murder- What a great match made in heaven!
I envy people who can write short stories, not to mention people who can ANIMATE them. This is a captivating story, and while I'd love to hear more of it, it's perfect just the way it is.
The last thing I want to say: I love your art style! I think it would work really well with wolves and cats and wolf-like creatures, just based on the way you draw faces. :)

I love how we see a whole lot of things come together throughout only two and a half minutes! This is a MASTER PIECE!! The ending was so SO perfect, the music and the atmosphere convey such intensity its uncanny. You have amazing talent!
This is AMAZING, truly a work of art from a short film (also i love the little detail of how at the end, Ai''s tears turn blue instead of the transparent when shes "confessing" to Bac which shows that shes not happy because shes with Bac but because her only competition is finally dead and gone)
Oh my god. This is a masterpiece. In only such a short amount of time, I was told so much about the story yet still left wanting more. The manipulation of the girl's feelings, but that girl was also obsessive over the long haired one. The jealousy, the twisting of emotions to get what she wants... It's all so well done. Wow!

Oh man, the shift in tone at 1:13, and then she picked the flowers to offer to Bac to further manipulate her after telling her about the hairpins. GJ folks, you really capture the facial expression here. And props to the VAs too

1:12 I love the subtle little shift in her tone and body language here. Like Ai is just acting to play at Bac's feelings for her to gain her cooperation. Then at 1:24 Ai's frown turning into a smirk when it all comes together.

Firat of all, the visuals, sound effectsm incredible voice acting and BEAUTIFUL animation and ambiance are all great on their own, but I'd like to point out something else. I lobe how both of them are deeply flawed and sort of deraged in their own but realistic way wich I absolutely adore and all of this seems like such a great and original concept I can't get enough of, it's just awesome. Plus, despite all the manipulation and weird situation and all, they seem like they would genuienly be such a great power couple. Kudos to you, this is fantastic. Continue like this and you'll achieve even more then you already did! :)
Wow this is so incredible !! I love this sm !! Love the twist of it turning out that they're both like insane , one a manipulative killer and the other an obsessed stalker who's willing too help her crush get away with murder.
