I love your games. Especially Hegemony Gold. I'm looking forward to this one. Also, maybe you should consider making a game about the struggle between Egyptian and Hittite empires over the Levant. That would be great.
Some highlights: 5:25 Demo of the variety of cities of different factions 14:45 Cities growing and shrinking 21:04 Talking about the different unit types 23:08 The editor! 31:23 Talking about modding units 34:03 Talking about the future of sea units 36:24 Some history behind what buildings are in the cities 43:24 Final questions
If just added a more intricate trade system with resources (and trade with other empires which immensely make you rich or over-saturate your markets) , which allows to build different units/building eg iron for better armor/swordsmen, and a well more in depth diplomacy system with a politics feature where could cause household coup or support disloyal general to start a civil war. Another feature would progression system for generals and how much there liked within your empire; too much and he may try to take over. A final feature could be a whole government system a more stable and strong (less corrupt) allows for higher morale and better resource collection and you can assign generals or politicians to positions of power (make generals out of these people). For the romans have an election system which you can influence the outcome and a Faction system where in the beginning choose one and as such if your not happy and your strong enough have them try to take over ( where some units are more loyal to Rome or you) and allow these factions to talk over nations secretively but if found out you may utterly crush there power. Even have family system where educate your children and over time they game positive and negative traits. If you could all these features this game would one that sets a new standard in RTS games.
