    Does anyone know how long does the suspension maintain its highest ride height in off-road after powering off vehicle?

    Hi, is it possible to manually override the suspension to offroad mode while the car is on eco mode for instance?? most cars allow you to raise or lower the suspension at will regardless of the drive mode you're in... doesn't seem to be the same with volvo for some reason.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. It is really cool system and makes the big xc90 feel like a small sports car in dynamic or big SUV in off road. Enjoy your car and happy holidays

      That is a really great question. In full disclosure, I am not an engineer and don't work on that side of the business so my answer is going to be based on the reading I have done in the much less technical sales material. I will definitely confirm what I'm putting below after speaking to someone more qualified than me.
      However based on the material they give to sales I believe there are two different systems on Volvos. One is the 4C adaptive air suspension like on the S90 and V90 and the the 4Corner air suspension which is on the XC models.
      What you have on the V90 has air suspension only in the back and adaptive dampers in the front. This means the chasis is still active on all 4 wheels but is different from the 4 corner system on the XC which has has air suspension on all wheels and can therefore increase ride height. Unlike the adaptive air which controls stiffness of dampers in the front without air and using air to control leveling along with stiffness in the back.
      Once again I am not an engineer so I will definitely be asking someone to confirm that and I do welcome any comments from engineers on this too. Please add to this post.
      Thanks for a really great question. I love getting comments like yours because it forces me to find an answer and know my product better!

    Can you make it go up/down from the app? Or just by getting into the car and changing the driving mode?

      Bogdan thanks for the question. The car won't go up or down with the app. It works when you switch drive modes and when you switch off the car. If I see 5 XC90s on our lot all parked together and two have air suspension, then those look lower than the others. This is because they usually have the easy entry and exit exit setting selected and they drop when switched off.. This is convenient because it is easier to step up and get into. Hope that helps thanks.

    Does the car automatically lower when placed in park?

    • @JebRevsUp
      @JebRevsUp  11 месяцев назад

      Hi Rex, the manual only talks about speed sensing as well as monitoring driving conditions to adjust the suspension. I know if the car is switched off it Will start deflating until the door is opened. However there is no mention of it lowering when the car is put in park so can’t give you a definitive answer. Thanks for watching

    Can you please talk a bit more about what the Comfort Mode does?

    • @JebRevsUp
      @JebRevsUp  Год назад +6

      Thanks for the question. Even if you didn’t have air suspension the comfort and dynamic modes will optimize your engine for each setting. For instance shift points and throttle response for gas engine.
      For cars that are hybrid it will also stay in EV mode at slower speeds and add gas engine when acceleration is needed or at higher highway speeds. In dynamic settings on a hybrid both gas and electric stay on and work together for maximum power.
      When you have air suspension then in comfort mode and slower speeds more air is added. This raises the suspension and makes the ride softer and more comfortable. It is also using sensors to keep it level, based on braking and cornering. If your speed increases then it lowers the car. This makes the suspension harder and more responsive for higher speeds. The lowering also reduces drag at higher speed.
      In off road mode it raises the suspension even higher at lower speed for for more ground clearance.
      In comfort The suspension is optimized for a good ride and adjusting to keep the car level but will adjust based on your speed, driving conditions, cornering and loading. Thanks for watching.
