This channel is going to die without Andrew and his extraordinary wit and delivery 😢
I disagree with some of the comments… everyone comes to the channel expecting to hear Andrew’s voice. The disconnect between the expectation and what we find gets our limbic system in a frenzy… Andrew was that pair of jeans that we loved and now is worn out, we changed it and we hate the new one cause is not the old one. Tom- keep at it. I already feel the quality of the writing, the presentation is growing on me.
Now to watches- the reason for being here… Milgauss was trying to hard, the Railmaster is just another watch that is rugged and appealing to a category of people that wear cashmere cardigans, glasses and speak softly… and sometimes wear a pocket protector but only at home. The closeted geeks that want to be cool… and that’s why I love it!
I stopped subscribing to this channel because of the lack of panache in presentation. The new presentation seems so lifeless and boring, and I actually used to like this channel so much back in the day. Not connecting to me at all sorry!
Long time fan here of this channel but the departure of Andrew hurts. This narrator honestly has no more charisma than an AI narrator.... I understand growing pains but I suggest just reformat the entire presentation to better suit the presenter style. You are trying to pull off the same problem Top Gear had when the magnificent trio left the program. You can't catch the Andrew lighting in a bottle twice using the same format.

C'mon, give him time. Go and listen to the first videos Andrew made. They were not as good as the last ones. Practice makes perfect.
I agree and I have unsubscribed, however I still say give them time to get it together. Andrew lived and breathed this so any replacement would have been a shock. I’ve been here 5 years too, it will get better!

That’s because we’re not used to it, to be fair I would say Andrew without the watch finder format is nowhere near as good. In fact he’s really now way behind a lot of other people, the ID guy, this watch that watch, teddy, Brit and a few others.
@@Robert-vw3od I disagree with one thing. Andrew looks and sounds 10x happier on his AMW channel. It brings much more in enthusiasm to watches that I feel is lacking in most content, minus Nico. He’s f-ing hilarious!

You guys are just being mean. This man is just doing his job. if you don't like it stop watching the videos there's no need to complain this much. Remember there's always an actual human behind the camera and you wouldn't talk to him like this if you met him personally.
Agree. I find these old style format video much more enjoyable than those talk show-ish one. But the copywriting could really use more improvement though.
This channel really needs to go back to what it was known for: making very high quality videos of a single watch - its history, its design, the movement, etc. I've thought this even prior to Andrew's departure and still feel that way. I think it would be in watchfinder's interest to do this from a business perspective because it got viewers much more intrigued and interested in watches beyond simple comparison and value videos.
The deep dives into watches are exactly why I subbed in the first place. I have no issues with the change in narration but the shallow video content is harder to accept without the familiar voice now.
I miss the deep dives and super cuts too. I’ve bought two watches based on that format. I just think that leans heavily on Andrew’s experience, knowledge and passion though. I’m starting to think Andrew might be irreplaceable
Please go on a voice over course. I used to enjoy the videos with their entertaining and informative format. Now this voice makes watching magnoilia paint drying quite appealing.
I would advise more variation in the tone with which you end the sentences. Like this it would feel more genuine and less « just reading the script ».
Edit: perhaps you can also focus more on the feelings / “vibe” the watch gives. Just make sure to not make it too cheesy.
If I was discovering your current content now, without a prior knowledge of the previous content, I would not be a subscriber.
Can we get some voice acting up in here? Otherwise change the format of the show, at least have Tom doing it.

Was this the best Santos to get macro shots on at the beginning? Maybe I'm not familiar with all things Carrier, but, the Roman numerals print on the dial looks really rough around the edges. The XIII in particular had black whisps off edges that should be clean and straight. Are they really supposed to be like that?
Does anyone knows from where is the background melody? Is it made specially for this channel? Thanks.

It's so hard to pick the proper watch some times. Even from the shape and face there are so many choices. I would love to have an original Santos in the collection.

Need to understand one thing: The unreasonably high prices are underappreciated. Just because some love keeping the price bar high doesn't mean we the consumers need to agree and drop cash like there's no tomorrow. See that on Black Friday, Boxing Day, Cyber Monday etc we don't hear that "the goods are underappreciated". It's a fact that Marketing made some folks buy Rolex's 70-year-old design at a stupidly unreasonable price...Well, it's a stellar lesson how far the "appreciation" can go.

Hey loved the video! The visuals are great. May I respectfully suggest you think about the aural presentation: the ups and downs are extraordinary and seriously interfere with the flow. It's like a comma after every 4 words, man! And it seems to be getting worse. Good luck!

this must have been recorded prior to the previous release when Tom was himself. Because he wouldn't go back to this voice narration after he killed in the previous video on watches with different dial colors.

I don't mind the new "voice," but the writing needs to be spruced up. I think we all enjoyed Andrew's creative humor as the cherry on top of the exquisite filming. As far as the topic on hand, I'd submit the Oris Prop Pilot X 115 as an impressive achievement for not a lot of cash.
This particular narrator would best be suited to a history segment or technical deep dive on the mechanics of a particular watch. Even some ASMR 😂.
But for the purpose of presentational entertainment go with Tom. Or play them off each other of why particular watches are good bad or otherwise.
It’s no disrespect to this man for putting himself out there it’s just not his genre.
It sounds so scripted and un natural since Andrew left. Please do something new with the channel.
The more watch videos I watch, the more I prefer seeing wrist shots and how the watch looks under real lightning conditions, worn, in real life. Those studio shots are boring now.

I have to agree with most comments here. Choose a narrator who has a more charismatic voice, the current one is really hard to listen to for more than a few seconds. I don't actually listen anymore...

I have been collecting for 30 years and little stars are not references. This is very disappointing for me that you mention the guys. Now I agree for the polaris that I own too and love.

Cool video! Some weird choices (de Santos under appreciated?).
But the new voice over guy is reading his lines. Pfff… can’t he just talk over them? Learn them by heart and just do three-four lines in a row, do 5 takes, and then choose the best one. I’m getting ancient Architect vibes, another channel that struggles with normal voice overs.

Really liked the choice of watches, video concept and overall pacing. However the audio is god awful and does not deserve to be on this video. If you need help with getting a proper audio setup, it's not very expensive and simply requires a purchase of a decent condenser microphone and an interface.

Cartier is the only one worth getting out of this bunch. Gerard Perregaux is desperately trying to be a Royal oak alternative. And there is it’s downfall. Do not try to pretend being another watch.

Feeling sorry for your narrator.. he is just trying and sticking to a script that clearly doesn’t fit him, or his own sense of humour. To be honest, this was a tough watch, you should really reconsider the whole concept.
I dont know if this is an experiment or something, but it ain't it. Just stick with Tom doing the narrations.
