I’m a painter. And I’m guessing the reason he was quoted $6k is because there’s about 100 hours of body work to get the body kit to fit right without a bunch of waves and gaps. That’s not even mentioning the cost of materials and labor for the actual primer, paint, clear, tape, sandpaper, rags, solvents etc. it really adds up. Especially if you use high quality paint like House of Kolor.
I agree... those high quotes were because of the body work involved, which it needed A LOT of.

6k for paint and body sounds way too cheap to fix all the issues seen in the video. 6k for paint or 5k for wrap I'm going paint everytime.

Thats why some places over charge instead of just saying no. A body kit with poor paint etc they don't want to be held responsible. Eventhough all wrappers tell you if thr car has been repainted it may peel. But some still complain. But really good job here

Always trips me out when I watch you work bro especially when it comes to intricate front bumpers .Id be confident wrapping a full car but when it comes to bumpers with multiple peices not so much .Love the transformation you give these cars and the owners reactions .I wish you were here in Australia!

My G has the same kit. I tried to wrap it myself 2 years ago I didn’t know anything, I didn’t even use a heat gun, it was not a good experience I wasted tons of material. I decided to try again color matching my truck, I had a heat gun this time, but 3 hours into the front bumper I burned a hole with my heat gun and ruined it. I let the truck sit torn apart in the garage for 2 days while I binge watched your videos all weekend. Came down to give it another try and man I can’t thank you enough for what you do. I gained so many tips from your videos it’s like I had a class.

It turned out pretty well considering the kit didn't really fit too well. Those gaps on those over fenders is a little less noticeable.

I have a car that I wrapped 7 years ago that sits outside in the sun most of the time and it looks great. BUT... I wax it three times a year and use a quick detailer wax every time I wash it (about every 2 weeks). I have another car that is garage kept, and that wrap is over 15 years old and looks perfect.
I have never tried to wax a wrap before. Maybe it helps prevent sun damage? I might have to test this out
@@ParadoxTheWrapper It’s all about UV protection and most waxes have a LOT of UV protection built in, but it degrades over time. I’ll gladly spend 20 minutes after washing every time to keep my finish looking great and save me from unwarapping/ rewrapping 😎
@@ParadoxTheWrapper Ceramic coating is basically a fancy wax coating (yes I know it's more complicated than that) that needs less replenishing but it degrades over time as well. Most people don't wax their cars often enough, especially in CA where there is little cloud cover and cars are exposed to UV twice as much as cars in other, more northern, states.
That car came in looking like crap, but when you got done with it, man, 1000% fly.
Lol after running quite a few gardens over the years in the middle of the mountains I can never get that sound out of my head 😂. Someone is out with a T-Post banger knocking out a new fence haha. I think I started to feel the vibration Everytime I heard the strike like some PTSD shit haha

Hey man, love the videos. I’ve been watching for a few weeks maybe a month now, but watched a ton of old stuff. I keep seeing what looks like you cutting on the car. I noticed it on the skyline video around the door handles first and I went oooooooo noooo he’s not lol and kept seeing what I thought was you running the razor on the paint. Thought maybe since it was yours, you didn’t care but I saw the same thing on this cars bumper and stuff so I have to ask, are you cutting on the car? What am I missing. School me good sir. I wrapped my first panel last night so now just going back to look for little tips and tricks for edges and how to actually do your finish work so any tips are appreciated!

I definitely would’ve charged 5k as well, a proper wrap the wide body comes off so you can wrap partially underneath same goes with head light and tail lights . For a budget wrap this is good definitely corners cut but with how rough this car was and how unprofessional those over fenders were installed it looks wayyyyy better

I get what you mean but no. Wraps are over price because they wanna make it seem like it's hard to do when it's not. The film is very flexible and could be moved to fit almost anything. And removing a bumper or door 2 people at a time is no problem. They just wanna always up charge.

I have a 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe and I wanted to do over fenders, but this is what I'm scared of. It doesn't look very good unless you use bondo to smooth them to the body.

Damn near impossible. Then when the wrap is off you have to battle the baked on glue. Ask me how I know. I got my duramax with a blak wrapped hood in the vegas heat. once the shows visible crack lines your fucked. Even if you get it off the glue is almost impossible to remove.
$6k to bodywork and paint that…that was a steal. It needs a ton of body work.
