    I enjoy watching your videos. I've been on nearly every HM trail. For those who haven't been to our beautiful state, all I can say is you won't regret it. A couple warnings worthy of passing on. If you screw up on parts of these trails, you are likely going for the ride of your life. The mountains are straight down and its a long way down in places. You will meet people from all over the country and even other countries. He commented on the trails being two way. You do have to be careful of head on collisions. If you are a history buff like me, I would advise checking out the town of Matewan and the Hatfield Cemetery.

      Hey RJ, WV is a wonderful state. The natural beauty of the landscape is stunning and the people are as friendly as the scenery is beautiful. We all can't wait to go back. The drops are ridiculous in areas, more than once just a glance was enough to remind me how important it is to not screw up, lol. We checked out the Cemetery and Matewan. Both really interesting places. Glad you enjoy the videos, I'm glad we can share some videos from your neck of the woods.

    I feel sorry for people that have never been offroading. It's just so nice to get out in the woods on the weekends with the fresh air blowing through your hair taking in all the scenery. It's just such a fun stress relieving experience.
    I would also like to add, for anyone who is thinking of getting into trail riding. You don't have to go in debt for a 10,000 dollar plus machine. You can pick up an old Honda Fourtrax that's 4 wheel drive for anywhere between 1500 - 2000 dollars. That might vary in your area, though.

    • @AdrenalineJunkieProd
      @AdrenalineJunkieProd  6 лет назад +2

      I agree Kevin, like you said, it doesn't matter what you ride as long as you are out riding and enjoying yourself outdoors with friends. It really is a great pass time and I find a lot of people don't really get it until they spend a day out riding. It's something you need to experience to truly understand.

      Hatfield McCoy is my little slice of heaven. I went about 3 year ago. We rode RockHouse (not "Rock Hill") lol, Indian Ridge, and Pocahantas. We rode for 5 days straight and never covered any of the same trails twice. Everything was so well organized and well marked that it is impossible to get lost! Amazing experience! I recommend it to everyone with an dirt bike, ATV, or UTV.

    3rd week of april ill be riding the Pinnacle Creek, Indian Ridge, and the Pocahontas trails. Last year I did Rock house, Devil Anse, and a little bit of Buffalo mountain trails. I highly recommend the 3 I mentioned because they are great easy trails with some difficult trails to ride on. Can't wait to ride on Pinnacle Creek, Indian Ridge, and the Pocahontas trails this april!

    Great stuff, the trails are pretty narrow in spots and with the drop offs, very sketchy at times with traffic going both ways, I live in KY and it looks almost identical, the bumps your enjoying is water bars they use to hopefully cut down on the ruts and wash out, as usual good stuff and thanks!

    • @AdrenalineJunkieProd
      @AdrenalineJunkieProd  6 лет назад

      Hey Jerry, thanks for the info on the water bars, had no idea that's what they were. I guess they serve a dual purpose, entertaining Canadian riders, lol. Ya, some spots were narrow, but in general the trails were incredibly well maintained. Cant wait to go back. Glad you enjoyed the video!

    Nice vid. I know I am 3yrs late to convo. We do H&M twice a year on quads...did Rockhouse two trips ago and that tunnel/photo opp is at the connectors of Devil's Anse I believe and we took same photo opp. I am assuming you all take caution, but just wanted to make sure that the lead SXS is not blindly flying around corners...I often lead our pack and it's a white knuckle ride being in front knowing at any corner a SXS can be coming right at you on your side of the of the trail! Being on a quad it could make for a very bad day! Thanks!

Only reason is our group likes the slower more technical stuff with big big hill climb. Thanks for the video and happy riding!! P.S. I ride in 4low when I'm lot on road saves tires and belt life alot. 3500miles on my 900s and still on factory belt

      Hey Indiansxsrider, stoked you enjoy the videos! I too love slow technical riding but I love getting my high speed fix just as well. The scenery in WV is beautiful. Felt great in the turbo, I would have had the same concern in my old 2014 900XP. Felt great on the new machine, and the handling was unreal in 4wd. It just pulled itself out of sharp turns like a boss. I'm really loving the RZR Turbo, got a chance to really take advantage of all the power on this trip.

    Only way I can get the Bighorn to hold up on our WV trails is 4x4 and 20lbs of air. Blackwaters hold up much better.

      Ya, we had a ton of issues with Big Horns in WV. Super easy to puncture, especially side walls. The ITP Blackwater Evolution is a much tougher tire.

    I have a friend that rides there. A few years ago he actually found a guy hung up in a tree. He thinks it was a guy who had just passed them riding like a bat out of hell. Apparently he went over the edge and down a steep hill. He got lodged in this tree. His atv was further down. He got help but never heard whether or not the guy died.

    Yaay I've been waiting on these vids, so we'll have some pre-run footage for our next trip up there lol 😀 I guess you guys from up north don't really have a ton of experience with water breaks eh? haha All the parks in the southeast have them, they help prevent erosion by stopping water from heavy rains as they wash down the trails. Also I like how you mentioned how friendly everyone was right from the start, I imagine the more time you spent there the more of this you saw. I think that whole area must be the friendliest place on earth. Looks like you were having a blast, thanks for sharing!
    Quick side note, if you don't mind me asking, what resolution do you use when exporting your vids?

    • @AdrenalineJunkieProd
      @AdrenalineJunkieProd  6 лет назад

      Hey RZR's Edge, I've been watching your videos from WV too, your a little ahead of me! lol. The Southern hospitality is real, that's for sure. I love the Southern states. I've got family in South Carolina so I've been lucky enough to get to spend a good chunk of time down there. I've even considered moving there. I export in the RUclips 1080 60P preset on Adobe Premiere Pro CC, its 1920X1080 in H.264 format. It renders as a .mp4 file. Hope that helps answer your question.

    • @RZRsEdgeInMotion

      AdrenalineJunkieProd - That's awesome, I'm in Georgia, literally just down the road from the Carolinas. I know some folks want us to team up and ride, but you'd hate riding with me, or should I say waiting on me, I usually poke along at like 10mph lol
      The reason I ask about your export, I see something in your vid that used to happen to me, drove me nuts trying to fix it, took weeks to figure it out. But I learned something that may be helpful. I'm not trying to get in your business or anything, but I discovered RUclips has a set compression level for videos uploaded at various resolutions. If you export your original 1080p footage at 1440 H.264 instead (QHD) and upload it, RUclips will use a better compression level for your vid. The videos will be much more crisp, to the point where they look just like the original export before the upload. There isn't even an issue with the upscaling at all. I use H.264 QHD, constant 32bit. It'll get rid of that "blurring" effect that shows up when moving, especially in the trees. Again hope I'm not sticking my nose where it doesn't belong, just throwing this out there 😊

    • @AdrenalineJunkieProd
      @AdrenalineJunkieProd  5 лет назад

      I've ridden with guys who drive a Can-Am Maverick X3 XRS down these trails and they fit, however, you do really have to watch the edges in some areas to make sue you don't clip anything. Even the 64 inch RZR Turbo is wide in some areas. It really depends on what you want out of your machine and how you plan on using it. Will it fit, yes.

Anything can still happen and I understand that.. to all of the helmet police who will probably attack me shortly lol.

  • @6767mac
    @6767mac 5 лет назад +1

    So after the trip did you discover any one brand/model of tire that survived, "Better" ? Obviously an 8 ply is a minimum standard

    • @AdrenalineJunkieProd
      @AdrenalineJunkieProd  5 лет назад

      Hey 6767mac. Ya, 8 ply has a huge advantage. The Maxxis bighorns suffered the most damage. Seems the ITP blackwater evolutions did not have any issues. The Fuel Grippers only had one flat also. The GBC dirt commanders had a few sidewall punctures but held up noticeably better than the bighorns. Tires like the ITP Carnivore or Fuel Gripper seem to be the best suited for this type of terrain, since they are tires designed for hard pack riding. You don't need a big lug on these trails and the tires that have larger contact patch like the grippers handle really nice. A lot of a tires durability also comes down to the technique of the driver and how well they read the trail and choose their lines. Out on these trails there is a lot of sharp rocks and debris hiding on the sides of the trails and if you don't notice it and clip some it's really easy to cause a puncture.

    • @6767mac
      @6767mac 5 лет назад

    In my opinion you guys are going too fast down one way trails you are not familiar with. I was almost pushed off a trail with my wife and two small kids in my 4 seat razor xp. If not for some good driving on both our parts one of us would have tumbled and i never would have allowed my machine to get positioned on the outside of that trail. We got lucky and i positioned my machine toward inside of trail and went into side of mountain. We shook hands and moved on but those trails are narrow and steep and sometimes quite slick.......slow down and enjoy them. Sorry to seem like an old stick in mud but i can't imagine how those communities would react to a situation like that. Wed get " I told you so" and possibly back to outlawing a lot of it.
