Sophia WV? LoL,at one time I lived in a house right on top of the Pemberton tunnel many years ago.. I don't think it's even there now . Now I know you guys are using these big side-by-sides and full-size Jeeps down there, but would one of those off-road go-karts like a trail master be able to navigate up to that tunnel
I’ve got a 2019 turbo r with 500 miles with 32 seytom 3 bees locks cooter brown roof radio much more for sale 16500 just don’t get Time to ride it even got a 6 foot snow plow from canam is that a good price
Another place I need to checkout! The tunnel looks pretty cool. And Wrong Turn Pizza is pretty tasty also, we were just there last a couple of weeks ago.
@@TheCanAmCrew nice. It was our first time out there. We rented two two seaters from Ashland company store. Stayed at wild Willy’s. Great guy! Wife is chomping at the bit to come back. We are novice riders so we did green trails only. Nothing blue or black or Outlaw. We were all over Indian ridge and Pocahontas. Trails 16/19/20/27/18/15/12/20/ etc etc. hit the mud hole down on 18. Chatted with a game warden who was driving. Saw a bunch of dirtbikes there Sunday. Even a kid on a Yamaha pw50! can’t wait to come back.
That’s a sketchy little stretch there near that second/closed tunnel. We always have to put people on the sides of the machines through there. That’s a fun trek from Windmill Gap and back. The Chinese restaurant is actually quite good. Huge buffet.
Hi guys great videos ,, hoping someday go riding over there, hey send me some details about the Sophia tunnel looks cool ,where is the nearest camping to that place ,,I will appreciate for the info thanks from Tampa florida
that tunnel looks really cool. i cant wait to get back out in sept. there's so much to see and i feel like when i stayed at Bluefield i got the crappy version of what it has to offer lol
Highly recommend staying at Wild Willys right near Ashland company store (not part of Ashland resort). You can hit Pocahontas and Indian Ridge within minutes.
I really need to meet up with someone who knows the way around the outlaw trails. I waiting on my dealer to get a KRX in stock and I want to ride the Outlaw trails when I get it
If we’re down there the same time as you I’d be more than happy to show you around. Get yourself a gps app like back country navigator and download bob t maps from the Hatfield McCoy Facebook pages and you’ll be set. It’s color coded for difficulty and it’s pretty accurate.
It was 113 miles there and back, we actually headed over to matoaka first to film a video so we headed up to Sophia from there. If we didn’t go to matoaka first we probably wouldn’t have taken some outlaws up to Barkers creek and run Barkers creek toward Sophia.
Hey, we took some road and some outlaw trails to get there. After we left there we hit the Pinnacle creek trail system so it wasn’t straight there and back. We put in around 90 miles that day and was around 8-9 hours give or take with stopping to each Chinese in Sophia. If your able to send me a message on Facebook I can send you some screen shots of the map of the route we took to get there.
How long do you think it took you to get from wrong turn to the tunnel? We are staying at ashland in July with a group and was thinking of riding out to the tunnel
Anytime haha, I’d say all of October because the leaves are changing but it’s also a busy time for them for that reason. We go down 1-2 times a month throughout the year. July and august tend to be dusty.
@@TheCanAmCrew i own a campground in sturgis SD you can access about 700 miles of trails there anything from rock crawling to logging roads. If you ever come out contact us and we will show you around! Thanks for the info!!

I have lifetime trail maps as well but use that for other areas we ride like Tennessee and Michigan. Bob t maps are more up to date for outlaw trails. He updated them all the time.
I haven't been to Sofia in about 30 years, I'm glad to know the Chinese restaurant still there😊
Excellent video bud, no heavy metal intro and blaring tunes throughout...just ridin'...well done! :)
🙏🏻 thank you. We appreciate it
Around the 5 min mark I recognized that rocky ass trail!
Wow ! Ce coin fait parti du paradis surement...
Nice video guys. I know GoPro isn’t very good at displaying the sketchiness of steep/sideways terrain.

Is that camera on a gimbal? The stability was fantastic!
The go pro has built in stabilization. It’s very good.

Yes I believe it was an old train tunnel. It’s amazing in person. Especially the part at the beginning with all the wood.

Since it's not on the Hatfield mccoy system, do you need to buy a separate orv license.?
Technically yes. You would need a burning rock Offroad park pass.

It’s hard to compare because it’s a 4 seater. It does amazing on the trails and climbs though. It’s a tank.
