I think that the 421 provided a softer audio quality? Or maybe tobias just talked softer when he used the 421. That gain knob does really make a difference as gain is something a little tricky to manipulate/control post processing.
@@JzR0911 yes it does but at the cost of lowering the loudness of the main vocal/audio/melody. Sometimes even the clarity of the audio itself is affected.
@@yorrprod im sorry .i mean when you hear dog barks or vehicles outside your room .can it reduce those? sorry for asking bcoz i dont have a studio but i sing
@@JzR0911 It kinda does but, like I said , at the cost of loudness, clarity, etc... I would suggest if you wanna remove the dogs, cars, etc... Denoise the whole audio before you play around with it.
Hey, have you tried the Maono AU- 903? I wish to know the difference in sound quality because the 903 has more feature ; adjustable gain, headphone monitor volume and 2 pickup pattern cardioid and omnidirectional but the price range is almost the same (doesnt get accessories like these 2 here )
Creo que la diferencia esta en que pagas por tener un control de ganancia, talvez pudistes haber analizado el circuito interno y los chips que utiliza para ver si existe alguna diferencia
I like the sound of the PM401 more, but if you are recording a lot of singing I think it would be useful to go with the PM421, because you may need to constantly adjust the input gain and having the gain knob on the microphone will be useful.
Personally I would go for the PM401 and then just adjust the input gain on my computer, but if you really want the gain knob, that is understandable. Then I would say go for the PM421, the difference in audio quality is not that big
Pretty much a gain knob helps you adjust your input volume on the fly, without having to go into your computers settings. It's a pretty handy thing to have, but it's not necessary
this is the Third video I watch from you about those 2 microphone and now I'm sure witch one I'll buy : the PM421. Thanks 👍👍

yes i make my videos using that , the quality is soo good and gain knob is a hard hitting feature.
does gain reduce any unecessary noises in the background? thanks

Hi! I have the Maono PM422. It would be nice if you reviewed it and maybe include some singing? Thank you!
Hi, I've been looking at the Maono PM22, maybe I will get it sometime in the future. Thank you for the suggestion!

Se escucha igual, gracias por la comparativa, compré el 401 👌🏼
Que tal te va con el? Hechas de menos la perilla de sensibilidad?
Thank u so much for your comparisons, you have one for every model
You're welcome! There's still a couple of their mics that I haven't tested yet, but we'll see if I get to do them
hi i have question is this microphone works with NVIDIA shadowplay for recording gaming video ?
Love your video Tobias! Would you know if the MAONO PM421 is compatible with a Playstation 4? Thanks
Which one should I buy I want to start a singing channel ? Please answer Tobias 🌝 .

@@TobiasHolenstein thank you sir 💜.
Been watching a ton of your old and new microphone videos
I still can't decide because almost all the Maono mics sound great
Yeah Maono makes some good mics! It can be hard to decide 😅
Which I one I should choose for singing?

I get it. But why you'd choose pm401? Is there somethig which is better in pm 401?
same problem
I dont seem to understand why a gain nob is so important? Is it something you cannot do without an interface? Nobice here ofc ._.

what do you think is this Maono Mics good for acoustic guitar ?
Hi Giorgi, yeah I think they would both be fine for recording acoustic guitar
Hello bro iam from India
Which mic is better for singing?
I have to buy mic
Hi Tobias I have a AU-PM401 and does not sound like this (lower sound), wich is your sound driver?
Hi, is it just that the volume of your mic is lower? Maybe you just need to turn up your input volume in your computers preferences
Thanks for the review! Really helped alot with my decision😁
Do you know the difference between the 421 and 422? Is the only difference the headset jack?
That's what I was thinking, but I'm not 100% sure. I've never tried out the 422
I did not notice any differences between 401 and 321 when it comes to sound aside from the price & the headphone socket/vol control. :D
What would you recommend for singing
Personally, I would go with the PM401
Why is that? pm 401 even doesn’t have gain knob!
421 sounds thicker and slightly more nasally, like somebody has a cold XD
I like the sound og the pm401 more
The pm401 is great
what audio interface do you have
I have the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2
Now time for AU-PM421 vs AU-PM422. The latter has monitor.
421 for the gain knob for me
The gain knob definitely comes in handy
tnx
Thank you.
You're welcome!
