Started working in Pro Tools | First in 2018, stayed in Pro Tools ever since. I've partially used Reaper, Studio One, and Logic Pro and am always returning home to Pro Tools. I'm so into how fast Pro Tools works for me when producing music, especially guitar-driven music that it just makes a ton of sense on its workflow. I've considered using another DAW such as Logic Pro for Virtual Instrument-based music production, but I haven't delved into that setup just yet, I might in the future though. Great video and now, subscribed!
I see. Finding the perfect DAW for your workflow is a journey. That's the reason why I love PT for my workflow as well. It just works smh. Thank you so much for subscribing! Welcome!
Every time I try and venture away from Pro Tools, I keep finding myself back at it. So easy to use and straightforward for my needs. I use an MPC live and usually just arrange everyone there, export it to pro tools and just mix away with my UAD plugins 🤙🏼
Fruity Loops has come a long way. I remember when it was considered such a joke that they changed the name to FL Studio. That said, I've used Cubase since 2003 (21 years). It's considered to be one of the more difficult DAWS to learn but I took to it right away and really consider it more powerful than most DAWs out there. However, over the years I've learned nearly ever DAW out there so because I collab a lot and collabing in the original DAW the project is in is faster and more fluid than bouncing down and exporting parts. I produce electronic music and EDM producers tend to collaborate a lot. EDM producers overwhelmingly use Ableton Live followed by Logic Pro and FL Studio. Some, like me, use Cubase. The advanced MIDI capabilities of Cubase are just unmatched in my opinion. I work faster and more fluid in Cubase, but I can work in any DAW for collab purposes.
Fun fact(s): FruityLoops was forced to change it's name due to copyright infringement regarding the breakfast cereal of the same name. FL Studio 4.0 was the first to use the new name. My introduction to FL was a dodgy copy of FL Studio 4.1 Fruity Edition.
I recoded a song for a girl in MPC software by exporting the beat and bringing it back in on a audio track making the bar count 48 . I used a rode mic no interface and the vocals came out like my studio at home using pro tools with the Apollo 🤯 the vocals with no effects was crystal clear and sounded almost mastered when I put the air flavor on it bro it was industry standard . Then I put the vintage compressor on the mastered track and it sounded like it was recorded in the same studio as Mariah Carrie hart breaker song 🤯 . I didn’t know the mpc put out such powerful vocals out of the box . It’s a cheat code for people that don’t know how to mix and master because all you have to do is adjust the volume and throw a plug-in that within the mpc . It has the telephone voice , the screw voice , auto tune , etc so many to choose from it even double the vocals using vocal double. The mpc is a top of the class full recording studio that pushes out top quality sound .
Cubase 14 just released. I believe it's the best for professional composers. The score editor has the Dorico engine, which is now the leading notation software. Midi editing is also arguably the most powerful.
I’ve tried Cubase, Studio One, Pro Tools, Logic Pro. I always struggled in each. Enter: Reaper. Wow. I’ve not found any issues with my studio recording/tracking/mixing or live backing tracks/VST3-AUi hosting. I’ve used reaper since 2009. All of my 3rd party plugins work well in it. I even edit video in it. It is the crowned daw of my music workflow.
propellerhead played themselves early on though.. Reason is so good but they would not allow for 3rd party plugins for the longest time. by the time they did, I had already found logic.
For me I prefer Fl studio when making Hiphop, house, Afrohouse and amapiano beats because of the simple and rich pianorole, but for gospel production especially recording and mixing vocals I prefer Cubase and studio One and both kind of feel like the same, but The one I use the most for live playing and is obviously ableton.... So for me i use all those depending on what i am working on, am never stuck on one Daw, love all four of them for thier uniqueness in what i want to Archieve... The thing I like about FL studio is that in my community almost everyone uses Fl studio so it makes the learning curve easier and there is great improvement in almost every update, and they have rich stock plugins with great ui as well
If you don't know what you want try FL Studio. At least you get the best piano roll and you make drum patterns easy. I am not saying it's for everyone but sinse I assume many don't know what they want that's a good start. And I am using the parametric EQ on almost every track.
True, people forget FL Studio is for the home user who wants to make music when they have time. Not targeted at professionals but it's come along way over the years.
hello, i got a Shure m7b mic and whenever i try to use it to record on my logic pro 11 breaks. for example, if i sing a long word it breaks and doesn't record everything, it is so annoying and frustrating, please do you know the reason for this? because i used same mic to record in fl studio and it works fine except that i only like to make beats in fl studio and prefer to record vocals and mix with logic
Im an Fl user i used to work on reason and cubase but still find fl better for me regarless of some limitations. I was wondering if its worth moving to studio one for a change? Really need your opinion.
I use Abelton with my MPC one and I can’t get right with it. Like it’s very confusing when I play my drums from my MPC it’s always laggy. And I tried quantizing. What’s another daw y’all recommend that has a easy work flow with the MPC ?
Hey Archie Beatz, what’s good? I am a long term logic user -from Emagic days😂!! But I am considering learning another daw, I guess for versatility and so your video came at the perfect time. I am considering Studio one or Luna ( the latter you didn’t mention), have you tried it and if so do you rate it??
Hey man! Nice. Studio one and Luna are both great. I would test drive them and see what feels right for sure. Part 2 of this video is coming. I recorded this with Luna! It has an old school console feel to it, which I love! ruclips.net/video/BMyO9SvQaIA/видео.html
@@archiebeatz Thanks so much for recommendation and link. Track sounds amazing🙌🏾. It has a real warmth and depth that I am really liking. Well that settles it, gonna try Luna first, as it is always showing in UA connect as being available to download😄. I already have Apollo twin and a ton of the UAD plugins and so I am gonna test it and see how it goes, before testing Studio One. Appreciate, you pointing me towards video as it’s given me some insight into workflow. You are such a gifted musician. Every blessing bro🙏🏾
@@archiebeatz I love Luna it changed my work flow cause I was used with pro tools, now I felt it crushed A lot for me my pc power I just fix in Luna now
At some point I was considering Cubase. Simply because it had everything I was looking for without having to look for anything else. Was I wrong. I don't know.
I appreciate your review. Thanks. I use all the daws you mention but unfortunately this is barely enough information for the beginner and you left out the heavy weight Film DAW used by many many Academy award winners - Cubase/Nuendo.
Ableton Live is the best for being simple and your favorite daw probably copied something from live. No one can beat or get as simple. You can get any sound from live without clicking as much like pt
Reason 12/13 are by far the worst for HIpHop/RnB Music. Getting a good bass sound is hard as hell. If your music is in this genre Reason will make sound muddy as hell. Out of the box MPC, then FL Studio blows most out of the water. The MPC presets alone will give a great sound even if your a beginner.
Another one again ignoring cubase like it doesn't exist, the daw that invented vst and studio one copy in a cheaper way all hes features. I will never get why people dont try cubase or talk about it
Well, I'm not ignoring it. Cubase is amazing. A lot of my composer friends use it. As I stated in this, these are my top 5 (personal taste). Spoiler alert, I am releasing a part 2 and cubase is in it.
Heyyyyyyy, why ignorant, lol. I tried it. It just wasn't for me but I can acknowledge and appreciate why some of my colleagues prefer. I also need to transcribe (music notes) print a lot of my film score and music production I need an orchestra to play.
Should i use the blue or red hammer, which will drive the nail better... these seem so silly.... find one and fuck the rest.. you're just bogging down your computer with excessive software... ProTools sucked as did Logic... crashing constantly.... FL studio is the lego version of making music...
Thank you all for watching! Be sure to comment your current DAW below and why do you like it over the others?
FL studio is goated coz it's producer friendly. Been dabbling in Luna... It's almost like a user friendly protools
And you left out Cubase
@@tebqzik_music Cubase is nice too! Maybe he hasn't played with it
@@tebqzik_music🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗❤❤❤

Studio One. Work Flow easy and does alot! 👏🏾

FL Studio for making beats and Studio One for tracking vocals, mixing, and mastering for me!!!!!......
Nice!
I totally agree with this one!
FL Studio and MPC Live 2 for beat production. Studio One for Recording and Mixing Records.
Great choices!
Same for me. I love the mastering project page in studio one.
Many DAWs later I finally settled on Cubase 13. Pro Tools the DAW that keeps on taking.
I'm glad you found the perfect DAW.
Cubase is the most flexible
