    I went on the High Speed Train from Beijing to Shanghai. Mate ... it was so comfortable, and I did the glass of water test ... and the surface of the water was still.
    I met about 20 Aussie Tourists and we found our way to the Cafeteria carriage. We drank the whole supply of Beer they had. And the Train Hostesses and us where just having fun and laughing most to the way. We took some photos of wearing the Train Hostesses hats. I wish we had High Speed Rails in Australia, travelling at 350kph. Maaaaatttttttteeeee ... that would be FANTASTIC. Bullet trains in China are designed to have 8 carriages in a group, with a bullet head at both ends.
    They could oparate on their own, but sometimes 2 groups are linked together head to head, to have a long train with 16 carriages. In this situation, you can walk though carriage 1 to 8, or 9 to 16, but not from carriage 8 to 9, since obviously there is no way to cross from one bullet head to another. You could see how it's linked at 9:50
    That lady with a child at 10:52, she brough a ticket of "no seat".
    "No seat" tickets could be brough with the same price as the second class, but no seat assigned for you. So even if all seats are sold out, you could still buy a "no seat" ticket and get on the train. You may sit anywhere empty, as long as no one claims it, but once the owner comes, you have to get up and go, that was what she did.

You may bring in your own street food, or ordering online on your phone, the foods are delivered at coming stations to you via the carriage attendants, or visiting the dinning carriage, or just wait in your seats for the attendant to bring in the lunchboxes of the day to you on his/her trolley 🛒.

    The train you're travelling on is a train set made up of two moving trainsets combined, which was created because the train was very heavily patronised, and in order to bring in more guests, the two trains were combined and run, resulting in the front and rear cars not being able to run through each other, as a locomotive was sandwiched in the middle, so you needed to cross over the locomotive from the station platform to reach the other train's car halfway through the journey.

Students or farmers prefer the low-speed train with green color(hard seat, hard sleeper seat, soft sleeper seat) as time isn't the major concern.

    These are CRH5 trains that are probably 10-15 years old. CRH1/2/3/5 are China's Gen 1 high speed trains, produced by joint ventures with rolling stock companies from Canada/Japan/Europe. Their operation speed is usually 200-250 km/h. They improved the technology with more domestic development, which led to the Gen 2 series CRH380A/B/C/D, with op speed of ~350 km/hr. The newest, mostly domestic-technology-backed, Gen3 trains CR400/300/200 operate at roughly 350/250/200 or 160 km/h.
    All the CRH models are named "HeXie" i.e. Harmony, whereas the CR models are called "FuXing" i.e Renaissance or Rejuvenation. CR stands for China Railway, but with the Fuxing designation, I would rather like the China Renaissance implication.
    Most of the train sets are 8-car or 16-car EMUs. Some, like the one you took, are coupled or doubled trainsets that join two 8-car EMUs into one 16-car train set and operate as a single unit.

    • @OTWD_yt
      @OTWD_yt  День назад

      What route does it do?

    • @gvhuang
      @gvhuang 19 часов назад

      Good question. Starting about 7 years ago, the Gen 1 trains have been gradually phases out, reaching or exceeding their design lifetime due to age and usage. It was reported that some early CRH2 trains have run 10 million kms before retiring. They will become fewer and farther between as time goes on.
      In principle, trains are allocated to railway routes according to train speed, track grade and route distances. Some routes require specially fitted trains for cold/high altitude/wind sand regions. In the early days when high speed rails were relatively rare (mid 2000s to early 2010s) there were high speed train routes on 'existing lines', i.e. fast trains on upgraded slow lines. That has been phased out too as specially built high speed rail network grew.
      Take the CRH5 for example. Most of them were purchased by china reailways regional group in Beijing and the northeast region. Many lines between Beijing and Hohhot/Tangshan/Shenyang are still served by CRH5s. Beijing to Badaling Great Wall is actually just a section of the Hohhot route. Some other short routes such as Guangzhou East to Shenzhen on older tracks also have CRH5s.

      @@OTWD_ytYou can enter Shenzhen from Hong Kong by train or car.

      Hong Kong and Shenzhen are tightly connected through various modes of transportation. A high-speed train takes just 15 minutes to travel between the downtown areas of the two cities, though a visa is required. There is also a subway connection, where travelers can obtain a Shenzhen visa on arrival at the boundary office. Highways facilitate cross-boundary travel with vans, though taxis are not permitted and a prepared visa is necessary. Additionally, a ferry service is available, also requiring a visa in advance. Every day, millions of citizens from Shenzhen and Hong Kong cross the boundary for shopping, work, and study. Shenzhen, recognized as China's most futuristic city, is the third most developed city by GDP after Beijing and Shanghai, while Hong Kong ranks fifth.
