      😁😁😁😂😂😁😁 yo I don't even know who you are I haven't even watched the video yet but I'm subscribing to say that I agree is an absolute understatement!!!!! I carry 2 Springfield XDM Elite 10 mm's with the 4.5 inch barrel and I tell people they are the best in the world and they are the thicker barrels the barrel harmonics all the features are insane and I really think the barrel harmonics is one of the reasons none of the other companies can get them to run right anyways God bless and you're right Beyond right .💗

      My EDC is a Beretta PX4 storm sub compact with a veridian green laser/light. I have several different carry holsters including an inside the front in the groins area, a veridian auto-on outside the waist band. FYI- I just recently purchase the 10mm Sprinfield XDME you reviewed (have not even shot it yet) over the Glock which is what I carry on duty (9mm). I absolutley agree with you on the features of this weapon!

      How I have my XDM Elite 4.5 10mm setup for appendix carry. I removed the extended magwell attachment and swapped out the 16rd baseplate for the 15rd plate to make a little easier to conceal. Added the Talon rubber grip and Holosun 507c X2. Has been my main carry gub since I got it months ago. 100% reliable. Mainly shooting Underwood Ammo 180gr XTPs for carry and Magtech 180gr FMJs for practice.

    Got a gen 3 and gen 4 glock 20, xdm elite 3.8 and 4.5. Started almost 15 years ago with glock 20 since I was a glock fan and shot competition with 17 it made since to carry the 20 in the backcountry. Always had trouble with reliability in my glock 10mms with full power loads. Tinkered with recoil springs and mag springs trying to get them to feed as recommended by buffalo bore never could. Finally settled with mild 10mm loads. Few years ago my brother bought a xdm 10mm to be different than me since I was a glock guy. To my surprise his shot everything perfectly no failure to feed with buffalo bore, underwood like mine. Doing head to head accuracy test we both shot the Springfields significantly better. Long story short I when the xdm elites came out I bought them. Been shooting the hell out of them with every brand ammo you can find including the heavy hardcast and both have been perfect. Swapped to carrying Springfields for 10mm still like my glock 9mms but done with glock 10mms. I now carry the xdms in grizzly country coming face to face regularly. Have no experience with the sig or smith but totally satisfied with my Springfields.

      Ive had three glock 10s from 20s to 40 MOS long slide, shot everything from 40 smith and wesson ammo to buffalo bore and never had a malfunction. Shame u somehow ended up with a lemon (assuming u can hold and not limp wrist a 10, which my girlfriend can, so i assume u can)

    • @rockie307
      @rockie307 Год назад +11

      @HammerBack45 Yeah I can. If you knew anything about guns and physics you would know limp wrist malfunctions happen more with weak ammo not full power. 10mm malfunctions typically occur because the slide cycles faster then the mag can feed. Weak people tend to let the gun recoil more slowing the slide cycle rate which actually helps 10mm top loads function.

      I handload 180 grain FMJ FN cartridges. They feed trouble free, and load fourteen rounds effortlessly. The fifteenth requires some forcing, but does seat properly. I would note that for a full load of fifteenth, it chambers the first round better from the locked slide position. Still, I find no fault with either the gun or the two magazines that came with it. Nor have I felt the need to modify them in any way.
      It's been my experience as a thirty-plus year handloader that seating the bullets somewhere less than recommended overall cartridge length helps with loading and feeding. Especially, with hollow point bullets lead or jacketed.
      Keep in mind that factory ammo is designed to do one thing. That is to chamber and fire safely. Generally speaking that's all it's supposed to do. But it doesn't do it for every gun or every magazine. That too was my experience, which is the reason why I began handloading. Good luck with your troubleshooting.

    I have the same Springfield you show in this video. The XDM Elite 4.5" OSP. The only difference is I bought mine with the hex dragonfly optic, and I love the entire setup. I wish I had your holosun, but I opted for the dragonfly, and I really do like it. This firearm is my favorite out of all my firearms, my Sig, S&W's, etc. I love this pistol. I can put 5 rounds in a 1/2 in groups @ 25 yards standing. It is just super accurate, and I completely agree with you the recoil is so manageable, and no problems eating ammo. It eats anything I feed it. I don't have the light. Id love to get one for home defence use, but right now, all I have is the 4.5" with the dragonfly. Also, I'm right handed and I would carry my Springfield 10mm OWB on a 1.5in gun belt if I had a holster, so here's crossed fingers. Hopefully I win. Love your material. Keep up the great work. I got the gear up deal. Just so you know, the range bag is really small and not too usable. The big deal for me was the 3 free mags. I love having those additional mags. I'm looking forward to your next review. Thanks for having the drawing.

    I compared the Springfield Sig xten and SW mp2. I didn't look at the Glock, I just don't like them.
    My issue with the Springfield was two things. The trigger wasn't as good as the Xten or the mp2, the mp2 has the best trigger. The recoil was worse than the mp2. The ergonomics, the feel in the hand, of the Springfield was also the worst.
    My issue with the mp2 is the widely reported magazine springs wearing out too soon. There are replacement springs for a low cost for the mp2 while the issues with the Springfield was "learn toi live with it".
    The mp2 ran several 100 40cal, and maybe twice that number of 10mm including Buffalobore hardcast without issue. I wish it came with better magazine springs. I have not had had issues yet, but I expect to based on how widely reported the issue was. This issue , if it has not yet been resolved, is the simplest to fix. For me with close to 800 rounds, maybe a 1000. I am convinced this is overall a better gun as it comes. There is probably an aftermarket trigger (but this will cost much more than magazine springs) and there is no fix for the higher felt recoil, slightly worse ergonomics, etc. If the mp2 was not an option, I'd get the Sig xten.
    Not a S&W fanboy. My least loved gun is a Smith 380 body guard, which might have the worst trigger I've ever felt on a mainstream brand,
    The good with the bad, I think the mp2 remains the best over all. My use is woods (camping, hunting). Over penetration rules out the 10mm for home defense, where I'll stay with 45acp and maybe 9mm.
    My EDC is a Browning 1911-380 short inside the waistband, right handed, side carry. It is incredibly light, super thin. But large enough to control and I feels great in my hand.

    I agree with you, this it’s an outstanding gun! I have the XD-M OSP 4.5” in 10mm, and I just love it! I also have a S&W M&P 2.0 in 10mm, and has functioned flawlessly and have enjoyed also a lot. I’m kind of a freak for 10mm, so my other 10mm guns are a Colt Double Eagle MK II, a Colt Delta Elite Blued and a Delta Elite in SS. Long live to the 10mm !!! 🎉

      No jamming issues with the M&P? Seems like there's a 20-25% lemon rate. A lot of people with issues out there that are resolved either by replacing the recoil spring or the mag springs, depending on the issue.

    Even the old XD was a solid pistol. The only possible complaint was the trigger but if you really shot the thing it’d break in nicely. And back then for a budget price you got a really well engineered gun with the double captured recoil spring and fully ambi controls. Plus I always found the grip and trigger safety to be a plus on a striker fired gun. I honestly think the xdm might be the best gun in the sub 700 dollar base price range. I have the smith and Wesson 4 inch 2.0 10mm and while it’s been reliable for me it just isn’t built like the XDs are. I bet the XDM will last through 2-3x more rounds over its lifespan

    XDM is a better 10mm than G20 simply for the fact it can fire any ammo you put in it. Unlike the G20, where you have to switch out the barrel to shoot certain ammo.

      If you're gonna be running a optic I would say the long slide 5.2 model would be kind of useless since you won't be using the longer sight plane for aiming , so another option is putting in a longer barrel , it would give you the best of both world's shorter slide , less weight but still get that extra velocity . I say this because I did the same thing I have the 9 in the 5.25 model and after using a optic I would have preferred to go with the 4.5 and put a 5.5 barrel on it . Either way nice gun you did good .

  • @KevinBurdine-k4t
    @KevinBurdine-k4t 11 месяцев назад +1

    I had a ranking for 10 mm's also, and Springfield XDM Elite wasn't even the first Springfield- behind the Springfield Ronin and Operator. It was also behind the M&P Performance Center and others. But the XDM Elite had the good deal with extra mags (I didn't consider the other deal option with multiple red dot plates because I won't put a plastic plate on a 10mm. What really won me over to the XDM E was the grip with the flared mag well! The texture sucks (very hard and kinda slick instead of grippy) but the fit, feel, and leverage is perfect for my large hands. The flared magwell adding pressure to the bottom of my grip made it feel like despite the sharp recoil of a 10mm I had the leverage to keep tight control. Honestly, after shooting Underwood, the recoil is not that bad… I think it is due to the flared magwell? It feels like a Floyd Mayweather lightening left jab instead of a George Foreman heavy right haymaker. BTW, there was never any false reset on my gun. I got lucky or Springfield had fixed that issue by then, IDK. But the trigger is really nice. Also, the beaver tail safety is great for me… it's not something I ever even need to consider- I just get a decent proper grip and the safety just works. It's a total non-issue and is a brilliant way to provide a safety that doesn't add a step to a quickdraw. My EDC will also be for deer hunting or bear protection while fly fishing; so I am going with a shoulder holster. I probably won't really EDC in my area anyway, unless I can cover with a jacket. I have not ordered it yet, but I am pleases with the messaging response of Black Hills Leather (Laredo, TX) who makes high quality custom holsters. Probably going with the BH7DOT: double shoulder, 35 degree can't (cross draw but close to vertical carry, double lined leather, with a thumb break, and double mag pouch on the other side.

    I've heard about the supported chamber thing. I don't buy it. Why? I've been reloading my own 10mm ammo for years out of a gen 2 Glock 20. I never have any feed issues. I've reused my brass countless times. There is a dimple in the side of the brass, probably from the extractor. It's doesn't hurt anything to leave it and it doesn't affect the resizing.
    I'll will add that the striker is not as robust for large pistol primers of the 10mm. 40S&W uses small pistol primers. If you put some winchester primers (winchesters require a bit harder strike) through it and they might not light off. Replacing springs, proper oil and a clean striker channel are all important. Cleaning primer pockets on the brass is important before primer seating to make sure no residue cushions the primer strike.
    Reloading 10mm is no big deal but it is more finicky than other calibers. Things have to be right. But the supported chamber thing? Nonsense. It doesn't matter.
