- We went up to the MITM Elite Invitational with three high power Shelby GT500s and faced some stiff competition racing boosted V10s and built GTRs in the DCT Roll & Drag Race Classes. Still, we were able to make a good showing with Sean Backus' 1250hp Hellion Twin Turbo build, Andy Wood's 1140hp Carbon Fiber Track Pack, and Kens 1140hp CX1100R prototype. That's funny. As I was watching this video, I was thinking to myself, "I hope you have some new axle shafts and/or transmission already ordered." Then, at the end, BOOM! There went the axle shaft. Tough break. No pun intended.
Already have another set of axles on the car and fighting for their lives with the Whipple 😂

Would have liked to see you guys get the shifts and the launch right with the same combo before stepping up in power, got a strong feeling it has a 7.93 without any additional power.
160mph is not capable of 7s at that weight
I think he meant 8.93. We would have loved to get that 8 sec pass, but didn't want to waste anymore time before putting on the Whipple 3.8L on. One of our customers has already run 8s with our X1100 package and we will continue to develop the ported blower packages.

Ken, did you race Brooks Plaid before the Whipple blower install? Did you have the Whipple for the draft race with Shmee and Brooks?
We ran Brooks in a customer's CX1100R, not the shop car. Looks like we may have to bring out the big guns
@@PalmBeachDyno YOUR car should beat it, but honestly, a ballpark estimate what it cost you to build an 8 second Shelby? Wonder if an e-mustang could be modified to produce even a 10% slower car than the e-COBRA JETS best run of 8.1 seconds.... Might be a whole new revenue stream for Palm Beach Dyno, as you realize we are leaving the internal combustion engine for the halls of history!
1100 rwhp...hell.. I'd be satisfied with 600 rwhp.🙃...just a nice daily that I can keep together. Nobody wins them all but with 600 rwhp you can win some and have a nice tame daily that's easier on parts and tires.
1100hp is still plenty safe on this platform 😁
@@PalmBeachDyno what mode was the plaid on? Was it using launch controlle? I’ve been trying to find videos on what all the plaids tech can actually do in a drag strip but I just can’t find one.

@@PalmBeachDyno do you have experience or knowledge about porting other blowers? I have the Roush Phase 2 R2650 on my 2020 GT and wanted to increase the efficiency/flow of it, but was not sure if there was really room for improvement. Thanks!

I would still prefer my 2020 GT500 with a manual. Nothing feels better than getting it right from a dig and slamming gears during a roll race. Shifting gears, you feel like a jockey riding a stallion and using your heels and bridle to get the horse to run faster...with an automatic you're just...sitting on the horse waiting until its over.
What wil hapen when you take the GT500 and swich the supercharger to twin turbo ?
The top end power on that is gonna be ridiculous
The Orange GT500 in this video is Twin Turbo so that should give you an idea. And we didn't make a full hit on the 1250hp setting 😈

They shouldn't be racing the Plaid until Tesla removes the 163 mph software limiter. With the limiter it's essentially crippled after 150 mph.

Ken I would definitely like to get my 2021 gt 500 over there . I don’t want e85, I just want to run mid 9s on m109, and have a flexible tune between m109, and 93 pump gas.

@@PalmBeachDyno a regular mustang gt with that kit runs high 8's, so the Tesla still loses. And turbo R8 run high 8's as well. I'm guessing you get the point here. The Tesla is a one trick pony waiting for an update to receive more power, how boring and lame is that. You can build a ICE vehicle to out preform a EV any day of the week for half the price. So again, you bring a knife to a gun fight in the performance wold of drag racing or any Motorsports at this point.

Funny part is a plaid is a low 9 second stock car. It’s beating up on all kinds of cars.
The power delivery helps it ET very well
Plaid is a quick car, yet a one trick pony. Stock is what they’ll be minus gutting one because there’s absolutely no upgrades lol. Yet to see a Tesla run a road course/auto track, top speed limited still. Impressive acceleration but people acting like it’s a replacement for drag racing is just silly. There’s GTR’s for sell less than 100k all built making 1200-1400+hp. It’s never fast enough so unless someone starts making battery swaps the Tesla drag game only go so far.
@@marcusjohnson5839 Rob and Ken know I wrote my own tunes for my Fords. *** if we can modify any production Ford then why can’t we do that for a Tesla? That highly modified GTR can’t road race so that point is a red herring

Why can’t a Tesla be modified? Idk probably because there’s no power adders for electric cars. Some talk of trying to get a harder launch is about it as far as “tuning” goes. It’s an iPhone on wheels if they give an update then that’s about it. There’s some GTR’s not running a drag built transmission yet plenty upgraded and still make turns, Vette’s/Vipers/911’s/720’s/etc all can still turn pretty decent and be anywhere from high 8’s to 10’s while doing it. Again impressive for a 120-130k a stock from factory low 9 @150ish car. Yet people are acting like the future is here and seem to forget stock only works for so long so what aftermarket is supposed to feed the need to go faster? At that point my point stands that for 120-130k one can find a much better option than a stock Tesla for the drag strip.
@@marcusjohnson5839 A dodge demon is a drag car right? A tesla. 4 door car on street tires crushes it without the special ecu, track prep etc. You have never raced RC cars and it shows. They are electric and those engines can be modified. It corners as well. Not sure why you are so offended over this stock car. I have a 69 falcon with 408 Windsor and a turbo. It ran 10s without the turbo and like 20 grand into the car. One of my buddies runs mid 8s in his 66 fairlane stick shift cars in Denver CO. @@pauranen eh regardless ice Era will prolly stand for 5 years 10 years is really pushing it and it will be no more...within 10 years a 7 seater almost 3 ton family car is outperforming super cars and toying with them all stock, luckily the model s doesn't need a whole team up it's ass maintaining it just to get it to do a couple runs.
