"Bleachbit has the full 'clinton' endorsement" haha. that was awesome.
You might be the first person to catch that joke.
@@SwitchedtoLinuxcame to post the same comment haha

I've been loving my LMDE installation for over a year now. It's the distro that FINALLY got me to toss Windows. No regrets whatsoever.)
P.S.: Have you found the 'Easter Egg's' ? :)
P.S.S.: Just finished this whole video, this is worth $ :) Got it emailed to my Win Friends that have FINALLY realized where Windows is going...and encouraging them to opt out of that future:) Apple guys, and girls, time to be thinking DEEPLY about where that ship is going to sail....
Nice job on installing LMDE for your friend and nice customization. That will save him a lot of research. More people should be helping friends and family Switch to Linux.
Tried installing the ubuntu mint. Aka the "normal" I guess and it was full of problems. In the end I gave up. The Debian version went smoothly with zero issues. I love it.
As always a well organised, well articulated video tutorial. Many thanks mate!!
mint is so solid, such a goated distro tbh at any skill level, you dont have to be on the bleeding edge or close to it to enjoy computing and gaming
Have used Linux mint Standard for years. setup pretty similar but you taught this old dog some new tricks here-well worth the watch.
It is the one they recommend, LMDE is not even a priority as I understand it, only a backup base with Debian.
I did forget about the Media Codecs that need installed on LMDE because it was on the previous video in the playlist.
@@SwitchedtoLinux Well,I didn't even notice-would have done that automatically because i watch a lot of videos and YT. A minor oversight which you can note in the notes.

Aprendo más y más.
I settled on mint years ago. Love cinnamon.
This is yet another great video.
When I was using Windows 11, I felt like I was babysitting a Fisher Price version of Windows 10 whose parents were Microsoft. I didn't feel like I really owned it until I erased Windows and installed Linux. Linux Mint is sweet! It does everything I need to do incuding streaming, recording music, photo editing, etc. Familiar apps like Audacity, Google Chrome, and Spotify are readily available. I replaced Photoshop with Krita and I'd already been using open source office software, so Libre Office is great for me. I love the multiple desktops with Hot Corners as well. It's as close to perfect as I can imagine for a free operating system. Little hiccups here and there, but not nearly as many as Windows on a good day. Bye bye to spyware operating systems. :)
Thank you!
Bleachbit is also available for Windows.
I've ended up back on Mint 21.3 after running into a few issues with recent Kubuntu releases.
As a New user to Linux coming from W10 do I need Antivirus Software?
As a New Linux user how do I get my Rgb lighting to work it used to work on W10
Great video, mate. Thanks a lot. I am at the beginning of my Linux journey and switched over to LMDE with all my private and office stuff from Win11. I began playing around with Linux once when i was alone home sick with Corona and i was bored, needed distraction. In a corner of my „Manscave“ i saw my old Win10 Laptop, not officially upgradable to Win11. That was my testing object for 1 year. I tested all thinkable distros and desktops, but LMDE is what fits best to me and my needs. At the beginning i felt a little „naked“ without an Antivirus, cuze that was the first piece of software i always installed on a Windowsmachine. I am bloody beginner and got a lot of questions, but i love tinkering around with Linux. Would you say that Mint is secure by default? Do you have any tips or suggestions besides activating firewall and clamav? ( i am still i a Win network with my sons gaming pc and so on) thanks in advance and greetings from Germany 😊✌🏻
I also started the journey to Linux at the start of the Pandemic in 2020. Plenty of time to tap away at a spare computer. Finally, at the end of 2022, I wiped all of my Microsoft stuff and haven't looked back. Tom on this channel and Joe Collins (also on You Tube) was all the encouragement I needed.
I'm 77 and had used Windows since 3.0. If I can do it, I'm sure there are a lot of you younger people out there who can effect the transition as well.
Hi, would you recommend Mint as a replacement for business use, at offices with several computers, network printers and a Qnap nas, and users that are not very interested in IT, they want want it to work... or is there another recommendation, like Ubuntu or Debian ) ? The most important is it must be stable and does not require q lot of maintenance. Kind of set-it-and-forget-it, almost...
Either LMDE6 for workers familiar with Windows. Or Debian 12 KDE is the 2 you want to consider. If you want stability / set and forget
BleachBit - is it for Killary?
after installing the Collapsible Systray applet, the system crashes regularly
I got my son's old game pc.
It has an i9 12900k processor.
I noticed that when I enabled only 4 cores in the bios, Mint lmde 6 sped up significantly.
Were 16 cores too many, or what is the cause of this 🤔
I love Mint lmde 6 OS.
Firefox also works really fast now. Even though I only have a 10MB download/10MB upload cable connection, no more spinning circles on RUclips

I would like if it wasn't 10:16 PM and the video is blasting me with light mode.
Don't be like Bob, Bob likes light mode, even at 10 PM.
The last time I installed Linux mint, it deleted my /boot on my 2nd dist with Debian on it 😆
Nice video. Specially for all the newcomers. But please don't use "Bleachbit" or their-likes. As long as you only use the Software manager, there is no reason to use cleanup software on LM /LMDE, actually any Linux distro.
He uses it for web caches and things, which should be fixed by LibreWolf...but old dogs don't often learn new tricks!
@@SwitchedtoLinux True, as long he knows what he is doing... cause those apps can brick you system as you know.
Finally, a Linux transition video that doesn't involve programmer socks.
Sounds like some serious butthurt going on. Are you okay? Drop the blind hatred. Get some therapy.
Those freaks give Linux a bad rep
Do you sell the software?
@@commietube_censorship_sucks Except for all the commercial distros, both good and bad. Libre (free as in speech) =/= gratis (free as in beer).
Those words in the thumbnail could be taken the wrong way there, buddy. 😆
lmde is just a copy without nvidia driver management
