I dream of the day when I can afford to start flying. Carbon Cub, Super Cub, Husky, Scout, Maule. It doesn’t matter as long as I can learn to fly it. No pilots license yet for me. Too broke. Always been a dream. I just watch Cub flying videos every day. And fantasize. You have great videos. Whatever I end up getting I want to get my IFR so I can fly at night cross country. I’m not a morning person so I’ll need to fly at night. In a fast Cub style plane. That’s my dream. I really enjoy your IFR videos. Looks really complex. But I’m sure I can learn to do it. Over time. Thanks for another great video.

Thank you for sharing this amazing video,
The narrative was very enjoyable and informative,
I had the opportunity to work in Ankorage AK in '06
As a pipe-fitter a couple times once to build a Northstar Compressor & oil platform.
This had to be redesigned with a redirect nozzle and Safety Valve to prevent
The reoccurrence of a previous disaster witch unfortunately more than 100 people
Lost there lives in the Bearing Straight, While working one day,I saw Balluga Whales in the bay, nearside to Fire Island and I visited the parks as often as I could ( we were tasked to work 16hr/days and time off was precious).
I also went back to work at the Kensington goldmine and because the mancampe wasn't in operation we were flown in
To work to Berners Bay beach head, for one of my side project I installed a windsock to assist in future landings.
I remember the cook was lodging in one of the original mine buildings and one of my secondary projects was to provide
The 5star Cheaf with: gun safe 12ga. Shotguns and "000" Buckshot, to fend off the occasional curious Bear, To my knowledge the only casualty was the interior walls.
Well, thank you for a wonderful video and look forward to more.
    Thanks,
    Earl

The second of your videos I've watched, I think I'm hooked...Been a motorcyclist all my life and now I'm just an old man following motorcycle adventure vlogs, and such, all over the world on YT. Yours is a perspective I haven't seen much of yet, as I'm a hardcore Google Earth fan and that took care of my flying needs...Love what you're doing...

Sucks your battery went dead before you landed by lake George glacier. Waiting for the video from the next time!

awesome video- how is the camera set up on the plane? You can see a pole off the rear in the pic at the end- any detail would be great

It's the Xploring Alaska Tailwheel mount sold by a company called FlightFlix. Anyone can buy it, unfortunately the airplane needs to be experimental like mine for it to be legal.

Enjoy your videos so much along with your calm narration of your flying. Are you ever concerned about landing in the backcountry and having any issues taking back off again? You referenced your survival equipment you take along…I imagine those include comms and emergency rations?

    • @EricMassey748
      @EricMassey748  Год назад +2

Yes, it is a huge concern. There is a survival kit with first aid, rations for a week, fire starting gear, an axe and hatchet, shovel, flares, etc. I also carry a garmin in-reach mini which I make sure is fully charged up before any flight like this. In addition I carry basic tools for repairing ties and minor parts breakages, as well as a jump start kit to avoid hand propping.

Looks cold. Need to consider coming back to the great state of Texas, your birthplace. But interesting stuff, also enjoyed your video of your little airplane….

Are you ever been in the sky and have to take a piss really bad?

Sure, all the time. Gatorade bottle or find a place to land.
