I only wish they had consolidated them and just released it as one album. There are absolutely filler tracks, since they were following the trend to fill the CD to max capacity, that if you stripped them away you would've been left with an incredible record.
No other band embraces its catalogue like Metallica. You can tell they still have fun on stage trying different ideas. Such an inspiring attitude they have.
Back in the summer when they began plans for AWMH I posted a comment and begged them to play this song. I laughed cuz I knew they never would. Now they did it and I feel like they made my wish come true! 😊
Hehe! That smile of yours from the very first note. It's from the series of *tell me you want more of it live, without telling me* This song is so warm to the heart... and true, the sound on this event was amazing! Thanks for all of this.
For anyone that didn't know, the band went out to thrift and secondhand stores for old and worn out instruments. The band recorded this song with those instruments.
They actually did keep a small portion of their set for acoustic tracks back in 1998. Some of the songs that were played in that setting were this one, Poor Twisted Me, The Four Horsemen, Motorbreath, Helpless and Last Caress.
they did an acoustic set with 3 song during the Reload tour. Saw them in 98 or 99 in Barcelona and it was awewome (plenty of videos available with pro shot quality floating in youtube).❤
Almost Every Metallica fan cries over St Anger but it has aged well and needed to happen. it's not as bad as everybody makes it out to be. Put Me growing up a hardcore/death/Slam metal kid from NY I'm used to that snare so it never bothered me.
I wonder if an acoustic set would work at a full stadium show. Last time I saw them was at Giant Stadium in 2023 with like 80k people in attendance. I was on the floor and just about everyone I met in that section were die hard fans who almost certainly would have been psyched if they threw an acoustic set in but I'm not sure how it would go over with the people in the 3rd deck! Any venue smaller than a football stadium would definitely work fine, just not quite sure they could pull it off at s full stadium show, which is what 90% of their shows are on this tour.
Hey this is the perfect form to ask us in. Why has astronomy never been performed live? Some of the reasons you read online are just insane. It's a really solid song for them and I'd love to see them start to perform that live. And yet, I think it's the only song, they have never played live. Seems almost impossible.
BTW They've performed this song 65 times from 1997-1998. This is the first time (the 66th) that they've played it in 26 YEARS!
Load and Reload are incredible albums

I feel this song hits different with James and the guys being older now.
They SO need to make an acoustic album before they retire (and James can do some country-inspired stuff....we all know he wants to :D )
This concert overall is so so good! Great to see them at such a high level

Dude! you are always the first guy i think about whenever metallica plays something rare or new haha
Same
I am so thankful that I did about three Load/Reload marathons during the run-up to the AWMH 2024 show. Worth it!

Im shocked and surprised they performed this live, ive been waiting for this for 25 years!

I hope they play Load and Reload completely for their 30th anniversary 😅 I love them both.
I love this song. James is very successful.
When they toured for Reload, the first set was acoustic
They need play songs like attitude and Ronnie even thorn within we need them to debut those songs one day
a great opener to a set like this
Watch the version of If Darkness had a Son they played in the same concert. Worth watching I promise.

Oživili su ovu već pomalo zavoravljenu pjesmu ovim nastupom 🤟🏻🎸🎧 odličan nastup, akustika u najboljem svjetlu 👍
During the 1998 stadium tour they played a short acoustic set in the middle of the shows. Maybe 3 songs.
James played mama said in 2015 with Jerry Cantrel . You should look it up. Great performance
I love this song so much. Awesome they played it live again.
Man I thought it was Rob doing the harmonies at first.
Such an underrated song by them
I hope they'll make a half-acoustic tour with Avi Vinocur as session musician. He fits them really well
After M72 maybe, why not?
They should play cure and slither haha
If they play Cure. I Would go nuts!
Nice video my guy 😊
96-97 they did have acoustic portions of the set
No it's 1998 during the poor retouring me

You should check out the redone acoustic version of If Darkness Had A Son, Chainsaw! So good.
u should react to shortest straw from that concert its sounds phenomenal

You should react to shortest straw it was so good man
Imagine if they brought out "Mama Said"
They had the best opportunities to play on these shows with keyboard player and they did not...
Every AWNH show I was like Metallica has acoustic songs and own songs they can do better than covers .
React to Shortest Straw pls
You’re not a true fan if you don’t like St.Anger 😂
everyone does a shit in life
Dude you should stop pausing while you are reacting. You used to do nonstop but what happened to you? Reaction should be while listening.❤
How about keeping your reactions until after the video, instead of pausing several times?
its a reaction video
You know you can just go watch it on Metallica’s channel without any interruptions, right? This is a reaction video…
