mine mad that noise when I got it. a few weeks ago. put BG EPR and MOA engine flush and oil additive as well as full synthetic 0W-40 (as recommended by saab in models starting in 2001) since adding the engine flush and oil additive sound has gotten way quieter. sound is almost gone. I'm going to continue to flush the engine for the next few oil changes and hope it goes away. as of now. the sound is almost gone. my guess was there was some sludge in the engine but it was cleaned out with the oil additive.

The sludge isn't in the engine, it's in the oil pickup. If the oil pickup is completely blocked it will starve the block of oil and fuck your block right up.

Car noise got a bit worse, but then yesterday (October 7th 2014) it sounded like a full blown diesel. Had my dad follow me home from work. 800 feet from the parking lot, the oil light came on followed by a loud tick and loss of all power. Won't even turn over. Engine suffered some catastrophic damage. Most likely a timing related issue. More to come

Yes the oil strainer screen is plugged! You will need a pipe scope from Harbor Freight to see this is true. It can be cleaned without dropping the oil pan with solvent. The other guy is correct do it now!

That was odd the stop sign. I put marvel mystery oil I'm about to do an oil change on mine and I first putted marvel like 3 weeks ago driving it around town before getting home there's a St and there I press hard on the engine then last week. Every other day I put like two seconds of marvel but now I'm driving the car hard it's my personal way I notice a big change the car started getting more compression like the engine is more firm more strong then how I bought it. It did quiet that sound like a diesel but wasn't too loud I notice even on the cap of the oil is not as dirty ok see tomorrow when I do the oil change. The lady who I bought it from said that she didn't drove the car for 4 months that's why I'm doing it.

No m8, just need to change the fucking oil like a normal human and have the latest pcv. "Sludge" is an issue but only if you have the old PCV system, but no one is smart enough to spend the $120 on those hoses even though they spent 2-6 grand on the car depending on condition and mileage.

Alan Yniguez Evidentially not. Do some reading on it. Regardless, DROP the damn oil pan before it's to late. The car in the video now has serious engine damage and is no longer drivable.

It was definitely the timing chain, you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about
