- It's been a while since I have made one of these so I thought I would mix it up a bit and take this one in a different direction. In the world of My Hero Academia, everyone wants to be a hero. I mean who wouldn't want to be recognized as a flawless being whose mere presence brings joy and hope to the people around them? It's why people like Izuku Mirdoriya, Mina Ashido, Momo Yaoyorozu, Shoto Todoroki, and yes even the ever angry Katsuki Bakugo attend UA High School. But behind the glamour and glitz there is a dark underbelly to what it really means to be a hero, what it really means to hope. And there is no character who understands this harsh world than the headteacher of Class 1-A himself. This is Shota Aizawa and The Tragedy of Hope.

As a teacher myself, Aizawa is my fav character. He is a true hero for his students. He wants the best for them.

Let me tell you. This video is something I have never seen. I personally love listening to video essays about MHA while drawing but it's always hard to do that with your videos because I get so engrossed in the content that I can't concentrate on anything else. The music in the background with the soul filled voiceover is frankly amazing. Love the work,especially this video and (the kinda dramatic end😅)

i love mha and aizawa over all. but something has always bothered me, when were first introduced to aizawa we hear what an unforgiving, strict and intimidating he is as a teacher. a man who flunked an entire class for what could be seen as minor offenses. but with all that established in his character from the jump, he watches a group of new students and in that group he sees one extremely volatile and (at the time) unstable student make an attempt to assault a classmate only to be met with apathetic annoyance and what can only described as a half hearted talking to in class. where is this fabled stern teacher who cares so deeply for his students he would flunk an entire class over less? where was this prowess we were led to believe in from the start? where was the consequences or the dedication to making sure they were ok? not a real conversation, not a visit to the principal, counselor, a threat of detention or suspension. i feel like he was vastly overhyped and in an undeserved way
Well done video. I agree with the whole concept that Aizawa knows that there’s no such thing as being a perfect hero, etc. Good thing I watched this video without pausing it once to understand who this character is considering the fact he‘s fictional but everything about how he was developed is realistic. I have heard a lot of good things about this anime series though not watching it.
