Great content! As an golfer with potential for improvement I blindly test out new stuff as keeping weight on my left foot on driving range with limited success. I love your rhetorical question on 1:41 where you address “ where do you go from here? Not forward, you are already there”. This one was really good! Thanks for clearing up the mystery of hitting a straight golf shot
This is also very critical too! I even struggle with this on bad days believe me. Even with 20 years of experience in this sport. Misunderstood concepts this is- (Yoda) Excellent job! You’re a way better teacher than I am- Well done.
Going to try this drill today! I'd not realized that what I have been doing is loading up my pressure on my lead leg (in my case my left leg) and leaving it there to try to make sure I am keeping my weight forward. What that's ultimately doing (I strongly suspect, after watching this video) is that I am tilting backward to try to compensate for the fact that my weight loads / stays on my lead leg, which is causing a path / ball contact issue and resulting in a LOT of right/left/topping that is super challenging. 100% going to try the narrow address / step out drill this afternoon at the range. That's super helpful!
You are very welcome! Yes I always want to teach ROOT CAUSE not band aid approach. Sometimes that means taking 2 steps back to take 4 steps forward :) keep up the great work!
great channel. articulation and knowledge is on another level. similar to baseball when waiting for a pitch. weight on back foot, lead foot just hanging out until you step into hitting stride.
Yes, this is where I struggle. Keeping the left knee over the left foot, then still getting the weight shift correct. Not easy, may explain why I hit heavy occasionally, not able to shift forward due to not getting the shift back initially. Thank You!
Carolin! I can’t believe it took me so long to check out your YT channel! I watched the entire video and subscribed as well … I’m the one on IG always commenting about my fear of hitting the drywall 😂😅
Good stuff. I like the suggested drill and will try it. I was working on that this weekend. I was feeling that I was using weight on my trail side to support starting my backswing with my lead shoulder. This seemed to help transition weight to the lead side in that as the backswing neared the top the need to use trail side weight to support it decreased and my body naturally started shifting weight to the lead side. Any comments?
I am interested in the club you are hitting for each drill also. People hardly ever say that in instructional videos. I'm looking at your set up also because I think this part of my problem.
Dear Coach Carolin May l ask you a question and get feedback please? Have you seen Johnny Miller's you tube video on the Ben Hogan secret Its seminal! I wish l had seen it 45 years ago 'I could have been a champion' ( Rocky the 1st movie?)
Hi Carolin, this is an exceptionally excellent video that once again you have managed to explain a topic so well and in simple to follow steps (and this time for me a really important part of the swing that has been a problem me for I guess some 60 years, I'm 74 years old and determined to get a more consistent and reliable swing) Cannot wait to get to the range here near Brighton UK but currently pouring with rain - a classic British summer! I have been following your other videos (and the one you recommend, ruclips.net/video/_SnG20lkcEc/видео.html ) and they have helped me get back into having more consistency after recovering from a broken ankle last year and many years lay-off through being a carer. Correct me if I am wrong but a very similar and an also just as important video of yours is ruclips.net/video/-MQEhhk24t8/видео.html "Golf Downswing sequence". The ease and clarity you explain all these bite sized chunks in all of your videos for the different parts of the various techniques is truly a refreshing set of instructions, thank you and " wirklich ausgezeichnet! " KR, John 👏
Disagree big time!! When I watch a right handed pro golfer like Rory, let’s say, that left knee bows out a lot. For me to emulate that I need most of my weight on my left foot. And it’s made the difference!! Golf is fun now. It took me awhile to learn stillness, but breaking 90 was proof in the pudding. Good luck and best wishes to you and your golf channel.
Carolin's videos are all you need. No nonsense, short and exactly the right amount of useful information. Easy to remember and put into practice.
Thanks so much!
Purely gode swing lesson!
Excellent as always!
Carolyn - thanks. Love your explanations. Feel like you realy stick to the fundamentals without a lot of gimmicks I see in so many other videos.

Nevermind.
A very astute explanation! Thanks!

I only ever do technical work with my 7 or 8 iron 💪🏻

Coach Carolin, so you’re firmly against all of those videos and coaches that advocate for stack and tilt?
Drills, ugh! I don't even like the driving range.
You don’t have to as long as you like you hallway

So you’re focused on stack and tilt and it helps?
Will you marry me. 😎. Fore !!! (Thanks). 👍
Love all the nuggets of wisdom you give us…⛳🏌
thanks so much! and thanks for watching!
