Simple explanation, no filler. No story about the time you were a boy scout and your uncle who was in nam showed you this knot. Quick demonstration, bam, love it.
I’ve struggled with this one in the past, until watching this. The simplicity of how you explained it was extremely understandable! As always, cannot express my appreciation enough for all the knowledge you continue to selflessly share!
Very good tutorial, clear and easy. Quick question as I'm not a fisherman, what would this be used for? In my understanding knots weaken lines so is this for load bearing, and is there a risk the line breaks at the knot? Thanks 👍🏾
Great question. Many anglers want a heavier leader than their main line, but don’t want to add a swivel. That’s where this knot could be used. It could also be used tying line onto a backing line on a reel when adding new line.
So I have a question. I just watched one of you mono vs braid videos on which one is better. So could you use this knot to get the best of both worlds and have the strength of braid as your main line and all of its benefits but have the mono as your secondary line to get the benefits of the abrasion resistance?
If I wanted to connect line to my reel cause I didn’t but enough to do you know if I could use this and would it work or would it mess it up because of the knot?
I'm a multi-species fisherman that fishes for various large bottom fishing species so besides just going after the 3 main species of catfish I also go after bottom feeding species like longnose gar, freshwater drum, sturgeon, and paddlefish. And as a result of going after so many large bottom feeding species I have basically universalized my rigs I use a 6000 size spinning reel with a 7 ft 6 medium heavy moderate fast action 10 lb to 50 rod with a 1 to 6 oz lure rating. And I use 50 lb braid to a 1/0 barrel swivel which is then connected to a 18 to 24 inch section of 100 lb monofilament leader. And the only thing that's different is the hook size for channel catfish, freshwater drum, and shovelnose sturgeon I use anywhere from a 4/0 to 6/0 inline circle hook. And for flathead catfish, blue catfish, and longnose gar I use anywhere from a 8/0 to a 10/0 inline circle hook and I can catch all those species on that one universalized setup.
Tough as nails monofilament works great in every type of reel! Supple, limp, low memory. Great all around line for any situation 100% Berkley products.
Man . . Mine does not look nearly as good as yours. . I know you have more experience but mine are 2 different size lines is that going to be an issue with this knot?
Thank you for this lesson. Works great for my braid to my mono line! 1 Corinthians 15 (KJV) ¹ Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; ² By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. ³ For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; ⁴ And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Ephesians 1 (KJV) ⁷ In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; ¹³ In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Romans 5 (KJV) ⁸ But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ⁹ Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Ephesians 2 (KJV) ⁸ For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: ⁹ Not of works, lest any man should boast. “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.” - Ephesians 2:13 (KJV) Ephesians 3 (KJV) ¹ For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, ² If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: ³ How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, ⁴ Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) ⁵ Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; ⁶ That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Romans 5 (KJV) ⁸ But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ⁹ Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Great video! Super clear and easy to follow.
Glad it was helpful!

That's how I do it, except with fluoro. I go about 80-90% braid, for more line capacity, then spool the rest with fluoro or mono
Was in a pinch and this knot got me back in the water asap thank you
I think I will be able to make this knot the first time ! 😀👍👍
Thanks! This was just what I needed!

Don't use a 40lbs line it will be hard but you can do it
Huge thank you!!

Does the knot slide up and down the line or have i done something wrong ?
Shouldn’t slide up and down
You gotta tie a knot on both of them
Thumbs up my friend
👍👍👍👍👍
You are bad fishing for 10 years and I can’t do it
