This video is useful but also hilarious! The fact that I watched it at 1.5 speed may have added to the hilarity a bit. You didn't just make friends with a tele, you bonded like soulmates. It's almost like your friend was just sort of casually dating the person you knew you wanted to spend the rest of your life with, and you were just hoping and waiting for him to lose interest so you could swoop in and profess your love. ; ) I can't remember the last time I saw someone so happy to play a classic guitar, or at least someone who wasn't 70 years old.
Haha! The more I think about it, the more I’m convinced it’s accurate. ☺️ The funny thing is; I can feel that kinda love for more than one guitar. Am I a poly-guitar lover now? 😝
I concur. I’m still waiting for the right one to find me after 30 years of playing. Every time I go looking for one, I end up buying another Strat or Gretsch or a Gibson or an Epiphone.
Ha… I always hated everything about every Fender Tele/ tele stye any brand. Like you, they never felt right or sounded right in my Neanderthal brain. When the pandemic shut down the local watering holes I found myself watching too much youtube and I kept seeing this budget guitar brand Glarry. I thought 💭 what kind of crap do you get for $89 shipped to your door. When the postman unceremoniously dumped the box on my driveway with an audible thud I was positive I was sending it back the next day. Man was I surprised it survived the shipping considering the single box looked like it spent time with Ace Ventura pet detective. Wasn’t even sure there was a guitar inside, it was so lite. Opened the box and everything was as it should be. At that moment I felt this weird attachment to this ugly Tele that survived the USPS. Sure it had some flaws but for $89 what could I expect. Spent a couple hours setting up, filling fret ends, rolling the finger board, add a bone nut and roller string trees I had that I bought from the wish catalog ( to see the quality). When all was said and done I had this remarkable lightweight (under 6lbs) instrument that I didn’t hate and sounds good (to me) Way different than my Strat, LP, 335 etc… I drag this thing around everywhere behind the seat of my old pickup truck and a battery powered Blackstar SuperFly. My playing has gotten so much better because I can take it out and play with it whenever wherever ( at 60 yrs it’s my other option). I easily play 2 hours a day now. Show up to the job early and jam to whatever is playing on the trucks radio, at lunch, at the beach on the weekends… All because of a guitar style I never liked and found visually unpleasant. I guess my point is that just playing any type guitar is good for the soul. Enjoy your Videos
The tele gradually became my fav guitar. I have modded mine to be a bit more versatile (SD SH1 neck-hot rail middle-baja tele pup for bridge), but the classic and the Custom 72 with the wide range in the neck are my total favs. The bridge pickup can't be compared to anything else and it pairs wonderfully with all pickup you can imagine.
My story with my Nocaster is almost the same as yours. I played it a long time ago and when the guy decided to sell it, I bought it. Even though I almost bailed out of getting it because it was such a step up pricewise for me that I was 100% I couldn't afford it. But I got it. Never selling it.
You’re an amazing player, but I can’t judge any guitar based on how it sounds through overdrive/distortion. Gotta hear all three positions clean to give you an honest opinion 😎

There’s no energy lost from the strings vibration. The wood works together in a rare way to exacerbate the acoustic properties of it. Which of course translates through the pickups.

I found an offset tele with roasted maple neck, brass saddles, locking tuners and a p90-sized jazzmaster pickup in the neck. By far my favorite guitar.
Sounds Awesome. I bought a "Dog" Tele. It was a USA 2013 Transparent Red, Maple Neck. I picked it up in the Store (around 2016). The Strings were rusty, the chrome had started to spot tarnish. I asked the store guy why it hadn't sold for 3 years. He thought it was because of the Red Colour, and that it had "weird" pickups. @joeyjooones i was mostly referring to the audio. I'm so far behind in the understanding of the audio processing anymore. I hate computers, i can never find my files after i unpack them.
My sons and wife bought me a Solar guitar that looks like a heavy metal version of a Telly with an wvertune bridge. It has been like a passionate furious relationship with a woman. I cannot wait to get my hands on her daily. It's the most amazing guitar and it's pure magic in my hands.
Yeah…thought I just wanted to stick with a strat. Found a used 51 reissue because I knew I would like the neck and now I realize what all the fuss is about . That bridge pickup! Absolutely love that sound and everything else about this tele. Poor strat has just been sitting in the corner for weeks
I just built a Telecaster that has that Magic you dream about, but it took me 2 years of selecting everything from hardware to paint scheme. designing the tone by materials & parts used, I went Mahogany to get a slightly darker tone, a Seymour Duncan Broadcaster Bridge and a Monty's Danish Pete DP51 Neck pick up, Locke Custom 78 Birdseye Maple Neck with Ebony Fretboard, MOP Dot inlays with a Wolfgang Profile into Schaller DaVinci Tuners, Fender LSR Roller Nut, Babciz Bridge and Alligator Pickguard in a Wicked Pearl Paint job. Guitar Growls, will try to get a sample online soon, but fighting cancer and just finished Chemo before surgery on 16th. Seems like Tele is perfect fit for you
Yes! I have heard these are great. Problem: they never were available for lefties. And they are by far not the only cool models that never got available for us poor southpaws.
Great video. Similar spec to mine and love it, also never thought I’d be a tele player. You should compare with those vintage saddles - I went back and forth with the compensated ones several times and found the originals sounded the best. The compensated weren’t as full sounded and something was missing. Worth doing if you have both sets.
The telecaster was originally called the Broadcaster, but there was a copyright issue,as I think Gresch already had a guitar called Broadcaster. So if the guitar you have is based say 1950,broadcasters would of been there then hence the Broadcaster pickup. Bruce Springsteen plays a Broadcaster,I think they only had 1 pickup.
Never played a tele but i'd love to play/own one. I got my first single coil guitar (strat) a week ago and love it; It's been a lot of fun and sounds unique. Have a great day and what a beautifully dirty tele 🤘
you sound incredible! There's something about a tele... my nocaster relic is so resonant and rich, there's nothing like it. I have a great strat, but my playing style feels right without belly cuts or rounded shoulder. The tele just feels right, and speaks for me.
A Tokai Breezysound found me. Medium Jumbo's and 9.5' radius. Perfect! And weirdly enough it happened to be a Pink Paisley which I wasn't looking for. Into the Kemper, for me a Tele is Kempers best friend. ❤️
I love Teles, came to them later in my playing life and wondered why the heck I hadn't done so before. I have three that I play most, none of them made by Fender funnily enough. Incredibly versatile guitars and if I were forced to sell all my guitars except an acoustic and one electric - the electric would be a Tele. No question of it.
i think you would sound great on any tele .... id like to hear you on a squier sonic through same equipment.... bet there is not $2000 difference in the sound... but good for you
I personally have never found a 335 I gel with, hollow body is good solid body is good, semi hollow just never really feel right with the way they respond . My tele has been modded like crazy but recently at a gig I got a lot of compliments about my tone and playing, so a good tele makes expressing your voice easier
The only tele I really like the look of is those early blackgaurd teles. I don't know why but just don't really like how any other teles look. Also the reason the bridge pickup is called "broadcaster" is because that was Fender's original name for what became known as the Telecaster but since Gretsch had copyrighted the name "Broadkaster" for a line of drum sets so Fender had to change the name to Telecaster, which they chose because of a newfangled invention that started becoming popular called the television. (Also for a brief time inbetween being called the Broadcaster and Telecaster Fender didn't put any name on the headstock and these guitars are generally referred to as "nocasters".)
My favorite store tele has been a Fiesta Red Vintera. Love that fatter neck, and the note clarity was awesome. the first time I felt the neck on my Les Paul 50s tribute I felt like I had my soulmate! Love the versatility and growl of the P90s too. No pickguard, just the beautiful wine red color. Playing through my VOX Valvetronix AD20, I can play any sound I like. Just found your channel, love your playing and personality!
I finally picked up a tele after years of being an on and off guitarist. Wow. My main guitars I played were my Strat and LP. I took a chance and picked up a 335 copy (epiphone) thinking I was done buying guitars. Then I stumbled across the Fender Telecaster Professional II. And while it needs a bit of TLC from my go to tech, I can’t believe I waited this long to own one
Yeah it sounds like a vintage Tele should. Having said that, it came with a Custom Shop pricetag and that's the part i can't hang with. I tell people all the time, Teles are the one guitar no one needs to spend a lot of money on because you can make one yourself in your garage or basement if you have some time and patience. I have made a few over the years and the last one I'll ever need or play I made during the pandemic from Warmoth body and neck, components of my choosing and hand wound pickups that blow away anything Fender sells. You just need to commit to it and anyone can have the smoking hot Tele of their dreams.
Over 50 years a bassist, casual guitar fan and tech. Worked on a trashed ‘57 Tele when I was a teen, and it was awful. Also, I thought Tele’s were for country. Started listening to Tim Lerch a few years ago, and decided to give them another chance. Had a few close calls w/Baja Tele’s, before deciding that I wanted a big neck on a 69 Thinline body, and built my own. Squier CV mahogany, 1.75” BGP 54 profile neck, Wilde microcoils, 4-way switch, Gotoh cutdown bridge. Finishing touch was a Piezo One saddle set and a stereo output jack. Done.

I Have a Core USA PRS Custom 22 - I don't jell with that. I have a Gibson Less Paul Standard - I don't Jell with that. I have seven Fender Tele's - I jell with all of them. I have five Fender Stratocaster's - i jell with all of them too! I have a Martin HD28 - I love it. I also don't jell with my - Gibson Less Paul JR - My Gretsch 6120 - my Gibson SG 1961 reissue - I think thats about it.
I wish I knew how to makes videos. I would be playing my beauty of a Tele!
A smartphone is technically all you need… :)
@joeyjooones i was mostly referring to the audio. I'm so far behind in the understanding of the audio processing anymore. I hate computers, i can never find my files after i unpack them.
It certainly has a great sound and your playing is excellent
it's a custom shop
Seems like Tele is perfect fit for you
I never wanted to play guitar until I picked up a BAJA Tele! 9.5 radius and a soft v neck shape.
Yes! I have heard these are great. Problem: they never were available for lefties. And they are by far not the only cool models that never got available for us poor southpaws.
They have same pickups or the original ones did
Great video. Similar spec to mine and love it, also never thought I’d be a tele player. You should compare with those vintage saddles - I went back and forth with the compensated ones several times and found the originals sounded the best. The compensated weren’t as full sounded and something was missing. Worth doing if you have both sets.
Sounds Great Joey ..... Your playing has a lot to do with it . I can feel the feeling you to on the instrument ....
Thank you!!
Thank you man. My turn: what are you playing through right now?
you sound incredible! There's something about a tele... my nocaster relic is so resonant and rich, there's nothing like it. I have a great strat, but my playing style feels right without belly cuts or rounded shoulder. The tele just feels right, and speaks for me.
Pretty much a standard '52 Tele with a smaller neck profile. Honestly, that would be also my perfect Tele combo. Beautiful sounding guitar. Cheers!
A Tokai Breezysound found me.
Medium Jumbo's and 9.5' radius. Perfect!
And weirdly enough it happened to be a Pink Paisley which I wasn't looking for.
Into the Kemper, for me a Tele is Kempers best friend. ❤️
Killer sounding Tele, but I'd say your hands have a lot to do with it as well!
No question of it.
i think you would sound great on any tele .... id like to hear you on a squier sonic through same equipment.... bet there is not $2000 difference in the sound... but good for you
the face!
oh man, I miss my butterscotch with mick brierly 50s pickups I sold. arrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhh!
Your guitar playing is exceptional, my favourite IG guitarist for sure...and your Kemper tones are pure thick gooey honey. 🙂🥂
Your telecaster is amazing, it has better sustain than most telecaster model that I've tried. Typical issue of a single coil and bolt on I presume.
Earned my sub!
Guitar toaaan : Yihaar!
Playing : Noice... 🤨👌
Banter : Entertaining 🤷♂️
I would like to buy the backing track and pay with PayPal as I don't have a credit card, unfortunately you don't have the option.
I’m sorry about that!
Hit me up on Insta, maybe we can find a way 🙏🏻
@@joeyjooones Hello, I already wrote on Instagram yesterday and since I didn't get a response, I tried the comment function here on RUclips.
Yep, Broadcaster bridge. First Esquire and "Tele" pickup, should measure around 9.2-9.4K.
I personally have never found a 335 I gel with, hollow body is good solid body is good, semi hollow just never really feel right with the way they respond . My tele has been modded like crazy but recently at a gig I got a lot of compliments about my tone and playing, so a good tele makes expressing your voice easier
Same pickups as Danish Pete’s from Andertons, that’s why neck pickup sounds stratty
Thanks! Great user name man 😅
Alter... aber 1:21... Was für ein Sound! Und geil gespielt!
bagaimana tuan menciptakan suara gitar tele seperti ini ?
My favorite store tele has been a Fiesta Red Vintera. Love that fatter neck, and the note clarity was awesome. the first time I felt the neck on my Les Paul 50s tribute I felt like I had my soulmate! Love the versatility and growl of the P90s too. No pickguard, just the beautiful wine red color. Playing through my VOX Valvetronix AD20, I can play any sound I like. Just found your channel, love your playing and personality!
Phenomnal stuff .. youre legit :)
What Is this song ?? It's beautiful ! I'm trying to catch it, but too speed for the details !
🌠🌠🏆🌠🌠🎶
I finally picked up a tele after years of being an on and off guitarist. Wow.
My main guitars I played were my Strat and LP. I took a chance and picked up a 335 copy (epiphone) thinking I was done buying guitars. Then I stumbled across the Fender Telecaster Professional II. And while it needs a bit of TLC from my go to tech, I can’t believe I waited this long to own one
This is how a tele should sound: signal chain, keeper profiles, etc… 😊
so how much is the price of that Tele? I am also looking for a great Tele, did not find it yet
First: you are a very finely skilled guitarist 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Second: the tone of that Telly kicked my ass very hard. Extremely good purchase. 👍🏼👍🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Nice sounding tele, bro. I know what you mean about humbuckers. My #1 is a LP special with p90s.
That is another guitar I want to get my hands on. Just one P90! What model do you play?
Done.
I'll sub. Telecasters are my favourite guitars ever.
Hi so what pickups and strings please did not see them on list cheers
Linda guitarra y buen guitarrista! Respecto a la amplificación?
