Couple of corrections/updates: 1. Since v1.01 Fallout:London comes with Buffout included, so you no longer need to install that mod seperately. 2. Some people have pointed out that the FALLOUT: London mod already comes with the Address Library mod installed. They are correct. It won't harm you to install it on top of FOLON, but it's completely redundant. Sorry :) 3. If you don't see the option to set Weapon Debris, it means that your graphics card does not support that feature, so you're safe automatically :)
I had to buy GOG version...still didnt work..added mod Buffout (nexus mods) and still got stuck loading new games...What fixed it in the end? I loaded up an old Fallout 4 save and I got the old Fallout 4 Game to start from within Fallout London main screen. Then I tried new game...it broke the bug that had me stuck at New Game. Now I can play and save Fallout London. Hope this helps.
Fallout London indeed comes with Address Library, it also comes with Baka Framework and Baka ScrapHeap - Script Memory Limit Expander. I can confirm the Weapon Debris Crash Fix works. Buffout 4 also makes things a lot smoother and more stable. You'll also want to install the Papyrus Script Runner, Disk Cache Enabler (very important if you're using a HDD), High FPS Physics Fix, Sprint Stuttering Fix, and Raw Input Mouse Sensitivity Fix.
I installed the next gen versions of those mods with no problems. For anyone suffering the infinite loading screen demon, "High FPS Physics Fix" does a great job of dealing with that.
Next gen versions? None of the mods mentioned have been updated to next gen what are you talking about, if any of them DO work with the next gen update that is a odd coincidence
I also used the wrong version of the preloader and everything seemed to be working. Ive corrected it though after watching the video. I'll have to wait until later tonight to see if it makes any difference whatsoever.
Another critical fix is the Beer mats fix mod from nexus. Currently the Beer coasters are bugged, and some of them severely nerf your character, such as cutting all your damage in half. Beer mats fix patches them so the effect matches the descriptions, a simple fix until the first patch comes out
Lucky you. I've dced about 50+ times with a brand new computer. Tried so many mods that are supose to fix it. Nothing changes. I will wait a year before trying this shit again.
The gog version doesn't work at all for me. It loads the new ui/main menu but when starting a new game, I load into default Fallout 4, looking at the mirror in Sanctuary.
Its a config conflict with existing fallout 4 game that is/was installed, with mod organizer 2 you can have profile specific config files to avoid this issue. @@biadhoce
@@The_Gent i want to play it myself, but at the moment it looks really fucking complicated, maybe i will just get the GOG version, hopefully it's an easier install and also doesn't require to many stops and annoyances. but idk, it just looks too complicated, maybe i will wait it out for them to fix some things, make the process a bit more refined than what it exists as at the moment. i'm always like this when a new mod or game comes out, i know the launch is always the most buggy and broken mess, and it's always wise to stand back and let the experts figure the shit out and come up with a better more refined way to get shit working right before i end up sampling any of it for myself.
@@The_GentI usually watch gopher for an hour or two first and then rewatch stuff I did with what he does. It’s a great reminder before doing next main quests too
Don't do it, it will cause textures problem, low res and also brown faces because the game has not the time to load them properly. This can also cause hangs during loads and even corrupted saves. I tried it and it was just awfull, hanged many times during loading a new area, awfull low res textures and corrupted my saves twice, never happened without that crap. And it will only accelerate about 10 seconds, if you need 3 min to load an exterior then you have a very low end PC or you have a major problem. On an old gaming PC that is 8 years old it takes 35 seconds to load an exterior in 4k at ultra setting (nvidia 2070 and ssd). On my new rig from last year it takes only 16 seconds.
Same here - nothing to do with FOLON, but the moment I heard 'next-gen update' a few months back I decided to give it a long time to settle down. I remember the move from Skyrim LE to SE, and the modding headaches it created. There are LOTS of other games to play in the meantime. I feel for everyone else though, I'm just lucky that I'd played slightly too much Fallout in the last few years and can do with the rest.
It's awesome that you're doing this Gopher, and I'm looking forward to your Lets Play. A lot of people I'm subscribed to are playing it, but I'm waiting for yours. In part, because I love your content, and, in part, because I don't feel like listening to moaning over the differences in language and culture. I have not, personally, confirmed this, because I'm waiting for a while before grabbing FOLON... But, for those people who want to maintain two separate versions of the game, easily, there may be a simple and elegant solution. Over on the Nexus announcement thread, a couple of people have mentioned that they just created a new Windows User Account Profile, and installed the GOG version of the game onto it, with no interference to their regular FO4 on their main Windows accounts. If this works... it would be amazing, because it would bypass hassles, and chances are, as well, that there'd be no need to switch mod managers, either.
huh, well that's interesting, i thought it would be easier to just get the game on GOG version since that platform made it super easy to get this mod working. the steam version is so damn complicated, i just don't know how well it will all work out. but i'm hesitant in doing this because i know how much of a hard time i have with the more complicated mods, i want to play it, but i don't want it to be damn complicated either. maybe if i wait it out for a month, someone will come up with a far more refined way in setting things up that aren't so damn messy, maybe someone will come out with a tool that fixes some of the major issues, idk i asked a dude who i know is a modder who does reduced texture sizes through an AI program and i wanted him to use that same method for FO London to improve performance, but that's just the textures were talking about, the mod seems like it needs some more fixes outside of this to get it working best.
This would help because the "My Games\Fallout4" folder and the Fallout4 folder under the user app data would be separated by the user accounts. In fact if you are taking the "side by side" install (e.g. have steam version installed and GOG version installed for FOLON) then this makes it easier to switch between them without having to rename the folders. (YMMV depending on your specific setup, but the "My Games\Fallout4" folder and content has been a source of a lot of problems for people because they forget that those need to be deleted or renamed for a true "clean install"). It's also a good idea to have multiple windows logins in general. 9 times out of 10 for me when some game or program freezes I can still press Ctrl + Alt + Del and select "Switch user", login to the OTHER user, load up Task Manager and kill the frozen program. No restarting computer needed.
@@cletusthefetus23 Indeed! I have been maintaining my Steam version of FO4 for around 4 years... It is very carefully curated, fine-tuned and tweaked; my game looks and runs great (I have over 350 mods, and it literally *NEVER* crashes). As such, I have no wish to risk tampering with my setup; for me, installing FOLON (my GOG version) on a separate Windows account would be absolutely ideal.
I'm using the latest version of xSE Plugin Preloader with FOL and it works fine. For me FOL can not get past the loading screen after train crash without Buffout 4.
Something that might confuse people adding this on the GOG version, is that you only should install Buffout 4 and deps in Fallout4 GOTY folders. Not in the Fallout London folders.
I had this problem and i simply did a quick save when the train started. It crashed at the following loading screen but when I went back into the game I appeared on the tracks. Still have crash issues going into buildings and the perks screen crashes the game. Going to wait until it's patched properly.
@@rexwilliams7643 I read and tried three things at once and got past the train crash to desktop, so I don't know which one did it but... 1. Only for this section of the game, try lowest graphics. 2. I know this will sound strange but apparently it helps: Go into the first train car, crouch and look at the floor and do not move. 3. Keep spamming T to skip the cutscene. After that you can enjoy ultra settings again and a very stable and fun mod/new Fallout. It's worth it. And as always: Mind the gap.
@@F3rum The thing with loading screen after the train, I had the same and it did not crash during the train scene, it finished that and then ended up stuck in loading screen until finally crashing. Buffout4 fixed that and later "long loading time fix" made loading cells much faster even with nvidia settings limited fps.
There is a lot of good info here! I appreciate the effort, and I hope you feel well soon, Mr. Gopher. There is also a "Long load time" mod that I have found useful in my load order. My load times were crazy long before I installed it. I could get up, go make a sandwich, get a drink, and let the dogs out. When I came back to check on it, it would load a minute later. Now it's like 20-40 seconds.
I only installed Buffout4 without any suggested additional mods, and then a Long Loading Times Fix mod. Used to play FO4 on ultra settings, but dropped everything to high for London, since it seems to eat a lot more ram. Still looks great, and solved the crashing issues, so happy about it. GOG version, no creation club stuff enabled, no high res texture pack either.
I have tried installing FOLON for hours using 3 different preferred methods, i would erase everything n start fresh each time. i had so many different results like loading freeze, then no text on menu, it crash after open vid tons of thing.. after watching your 3 vids i tried again and IT WORKED FLAWLESSLY. idk what i missed but its working now, even made it past all the mentioned problem areas, like creation or train area..THANKS FOR THE EASY TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS.
Totally unfair since he's been told about the issue and acknowledged it, besides he only pointed out he didn't see the custom textures and has been enjoying the mod.
Blokes clearly Autistic .. and that level of interest in certain subjects Autistic people are interested in , well they get a bit Zeal with stuff that’s not done in there favour if they think it doesn’t appeal to what They think it IS. This is super funny. I was having issues this morning, and I thought to myself, "Gopher must've uploaded a video about it by now, and it must've been right before this video went live because you hadn't yet! HOWEVER! I managed to get it running on my own due in no small part to your adept tutelage via youtube! So thank you for helping me help myself! 😁
I found that reducing the graphics settings from Ultra to High and Shadow Distance to Medium immediately fixed my CTDs as well as disabling the Weapon Debris. Still use Buffout 4 and the High FPS Physics Fix just in case but so far, played for three hours with no CTD.
Didn't have any crashes until after the intro then I had one. So grabbed buffout 4 and played for a bit without a single crash. You don't need the required files for Buffout (I'm guessing they or something that fills in for them is already in London). Just drop it in and seems good to go.
4:50 except ofc, when you prevent the game from going online on your firewall. Creation kit will baseline prevent your game from running at all sometimes
I lost patience with steam version and buy the Gog version on sale. Gog version works like a charm for me. Two crashes only in 20 hours. And no more mods than the buffout
@@adamwhite4858 It also provides money to gog that are great and without drm. This mods has given me more fun than 90% games in last two years or more.
I still heard ALOT of players complaining that the GOG version was prone to crashing as well. If you’re reading this, your mileage may vary based on your system I guess.
@@reloadedspade176 All people I know discord and friends with gog had no issues. But yeah, it seems certain graphic cards and such had some issues. But far less than steam. And many of that issues are caused for Fallout itself
I managed to fix the crashes. I'm on steam. All you do is go to Fallout 4 folder in steam, and run f4seloader.exe as administrator. After that I had zero crashes in a 5hrs session.
Are you going to make a "How to install FOLON on Vortex" vid??? I Created a vanilla profile, but im nervous to run the FOLON installer on my games main folder. Ive seen what youve done here but am not sure if the installer wont break my original game. I hate reinstalls.
@@GophersVidsyesssss, I've been holding off on using Vortex with FOLon until seeing your input. This mod is incredible as is, but these small mod patches will be nice to have.
1) The Weapon Debris option isn't even listed...maybe because it knows I have an AMD card? 2) Never downloaded or installed the texture pack. 3) Have never used the Creation Club. I have tried so many suggested fixits and the game just can't pass the initial loading screen. It locks up so hard I have to shut down and restart. I'm used to modding Skyrim and FONV so I'm accustomed to spending time getting mods working, but I've spent way too much time on this and it's just not worth it. Hi Gopher. I just wanted to chime in to say that i have been using the NG version of xSE preloaded been playing with it for a few hours now whilst running around ol' blighty doing quests and exploring, it has been fine for me, just wanted to let you and your viewers know. I still think people should use the pre Next Gen version just to be safe though, Cheers.
Thanks for the tip about creating an archive for CC content! Will make it easier to keep the CC enabled in my MO2 profile for regular Fallout 4, and disabled for the Fallout London profile.
Gopher, without Buffout 4 and the other 2 mod at the end of this vid my GOG version would CTD within 4 to 8 seconds after loading. The game was unplayable. With those 3 mods Fallout London works great 0 crash so far. Gopher your videos on modding have been immeasurably valuable, thanks.
Was looking forward to playing this but will have to wait till its updated to NG version. I have too many mods I am testing that are FO4 NG latest updates. and not about to back date. was going to add separate folder just foe BC but drive is just too full.
[NVIDIA] Switching "Threaded optimisation" to Off in the Nvidia Control Panel for "Fallout4.exe" seems to have stopped the crashes for me. I've gone from having a couple dozen crashes after the train ride - and almost giving up on FOL - to having zero crashes during a 3 hour period of intense gameplay (exterior, interiors, picking-up a companion, doing main quests, etc.). I'm guessing there's some thread contention in the gpu driver when FOL is running. This may reduce performance, as the gpu may now be using fewer cpu threads, but it seems perfectly playable to me and I'll take not crashing every time I take 20 steps anyday. Note: I created a Program Setting for Fallout.exe in the 3D Settings -> Manage 3D Settings section of the Nvidia Control Panel and set Threaded optimisation to Off in this Fallout4-only profile. Don't change Threaded optimisation in the Global Settings panel otherwise it will effect all games! I am running a Steam Fallout4 install, updated via the installer from GOG and running by pressing Play on the GOG installer. I've followed Gopher's instructions for cleaning saves folder, and removing any "cc*" files from my Fallout4 Data folder. I'm running zero mods on top of FOL. I copied the FOL FalloutPrefs.ini to my saves folder and using Notepad++ to change "iSize W" and "iSize H" to my monitor resolution. I don't use Fallout4Launcher.exe in case it resets some settings in FalloutPrefs.ini (Fallout4Launcher.exe will re-detect settings when first run with the FOL FalloutPrefs.ini, possibly because D3DDevice is blank in the FOL FalloutPrefs.ini). As always: YMMV.
Buffout 4, wep debris crash fix and using mod organizer 2 to handle to plugin list and fallout inis and it has been pretty stable. Theres still a crash that happens randomly when entering the london open world exterior. "exception access violation" which is being investigated on the discord.
Came here looking for a fix for my MANY missing textures. Almost my whole world was purple. Didn't find it directly, but this video had me try some things. Primarily to use Vortex. I was using the FOLON launcher and it didn't give me any clues as to issues. I opened Vortex and I was alerted to notices of game issues. Ignoring the "issue" of a newer Fallout 4, I saw another issue with a missing master (DLCCoast.esm) which was required to load a FOLON esm. Somewhere along the lines, that file got deleted. Luckily I backed up my Fallout 4 folder (twice) before loading FOLON. Copied the file from the backup folder and the textures are loading. Well done Vortex. I'll look into that Buffout 4 mod, but my Fallout 4 has been pretty stable.
I've had a niche crash with ultrawide resolution + truby9 + FOLON compatibility where it would CTD when opening the perk chart to level up to 7 or higher. I went in and deleted the swf files for perk menues and leveling up in the truby9 and FOLON's compatibilty mods, and that fixed the crash.
fallout london also comes with Baka Scrapheap, so per instructions on buffout 4 page u should also change stuff in buffout 4 and baka's config files. idk how much of an impact it has if this isnt done but i thought it be worth pounting that out
IIRC the weapon debris issue was for RTX cards, as there's something with the nvidia physX engine that doesn't sit right with the RTX cards. Worked fine on my GTX1070 but doesn't on my 2060 and 3070ti.
If you use your Brain you can figure out yourself what CC content will work. For example I use the CC Backpack and it works perfectly fine. I even found it in Leveled Lists on Enemies. So anything Workshop or Crafting Related that doesn't require a Quest to use works fine. Even Sim Settlements works fine, you just have to use the Terminal to unlock all Plots/Buildings you would otherwise unlock via Quests.
I just bought the GOG version of F4, installed FLondon on that version and kept my old, normal F4 Steam installation and load order intact. Have to remember to rename the Game confis and appData pastes every time I swtich, but it's really easy
Whilst I was using the latest xSE Preloader F4 version, the one designed for the Next Gen update mistakenly, buffout 4 still worked and even produced crash logs for me. I still downgraded my xSE Preloader F4 version as per an answer to a question that someone provided on the mod page.
The Weapon Debris crashes IIRC aren't a Fallout 4 bug, but an NVIDIA bug. It works perfectly on GTX cards but NVIDIA didn't make the RTX cards backwards-compatible with NVIDIA Reflex.
The two things that was getting me crashes were God Rays and Weapon Debris. I switched off Weapon Debris and set God Rays to low and it fixed everything. I have everything else on Ultra and all other options at the best possible. Sorted. No crashes.
Can’t wait to play this but I’ll have to wait til I get my vram delivered then I can build my pc these 9 day are gonna be the longest of my life…It’s like waiting for a Bethesda release of a game you actually want to play -wish me luck guys as I’m gonna have to go into fallout London Blackout to hide the spoilers
After 20 hours in, I would strongly recommend the "Buffout 4" mod on Nexus. My crashes went down to merely some problems with stuck loading screens once in while. If that happens, you can try to alt-tab out and into the game again.
Buffout 4 made all the difference for me, but then again I had already removed the HD texture pack and I don't think I have any CC remaining in my main data folder, it's all in MO mods that are disabled for this profile.
Since while installing FOLON you have to select that you had the texture pack enabled, does deleting the texture pack cause any issues or weird textures?
@@EnoYaka I haven't played around with it so I don't know. I followed Gopher's guide to installation so my original setup might not be what I ended up with.
it's an overrated mechanic anyway, like for something so small of a detail as weapon debris effect, it's really not that great anyway to even have the detail, bethesda really should just take that stupid feature out.
@@user-tp5yb4hr4w It's an incredibly useful way to test weapon accuracy, though. Or it would be if the decal range wasn't completely pitiful... (I am on console, though. I'm sure there are mods to increase decal range, but I don't really want to risk it)
@@SabiJD so what your talking about is not the same thing, the debris effect only shows for a few seconds, the bullet hole in the object is not counted as the same effect, it counts as some other effect, so when this feature is turned off you only notice the bullet hole, you don't notice the debris effect, that's all it really is in the end. this is why i say it's overrated, because it's just a silly effect that doesn't really do anything for you, it's about as meaningless as that dust effect that shows up when walking on a surface, it only shows for a few seconds and disappears.
I had crashing, long load times and the usual high fps dialog glitches after downgrade and fresh install. Im now running buffout 4, high fps fix and load time fix. All 3 the pre next gen versions. No issues after that.
One tad little detail you missed out that from vortex you need to double click the mode to open the config so you can change the plugin to engine injector, but besides that a very nice guide been having troubles with doing it direct mostly with the mod manager screwing things up then when removing the old mods it screws up the install. Have reinstalled Fallout 4 like 6 times now lol.
Agree, adding Bufout4 and disabling Weapon debris has made the game very stable. Was wondering what was causing the weird US textures. Now it's full British.
just a small correction - the GOG version does come with the CC content featured in your video , i have the GOG version (GOTY) and had to manually delete the files
I only use "Buffout 4" and "Long Loading Times Fix" (with all settings set to true), the latter turns all loading screens from minutes to seconds, it's borderline unplayable otherwise.
I've not had any issues with crashing so far unless im alt-tabbed for 5+ mins, but what really bugs me is how long it takes to transition from inside to outside and vice versa.
Gopher found a mod in nexus Fallout london page the mysterius store and mad a fantastic discovery it has a door to the commonwealth and it works put you near the drive through theatre and was attacked by mole rats this may make both game versions playable in one playthrough and never need to delete London but the store is a bit cheaty but it is buildable if you only sell stuff and never buy anything and store stuff in buildable section is fine and you can fast travel to it.
I kept getting crashes every time the train ride ended in the beginning, couldn't get passed it. Buffout 4 fixed that and been getting no crashes since.
Regarding the 'Weapon Debris' crashing. It crashes on RTX 2000 Series and above since they don't support physx (at least not whatever Fallout 4 was using). GTX 1000 series should be fine.
Quick note on the HD DLC The consenus on this dlc is outdated, when it came out the majority of people were using small low end displays that made seeing the differences impossible. I can say for certain that on a 1440p ultrawide, the dlc makes a world of difference and alters almost everything in the game. Yeah it might break FOLON but in the vanilla game I 100% suggest you try this DLC at least once if you have the space and dont want to wait hours to download a nexus mod alternative.
The Nexus alternatives are dramatically higher quality, however (AND they often provide better performance, as well). In my opinion, they're very much worth the small amount of extra effort. of course, we'll have to see what happens with the FOLON modding scene, but I have little doubt various texture and mesh replacers will come out over the next few months.
Guys I found the real fix to the major crash after the train ride. I figure that after the train crash the player may incur some damage asymmetric[because of a bug]. So crouch inside the train avoid displaying or looking outside the windows and eat something to make your health as close to full as possible and you should be able to play without crashing after the train crash. You can thank me later.
Ive got the game going fairly stable but now my only issue is the dialogue swapping your perspective randomly x.x its so immersion breaking at times haha
Here's how bad that creation club thing can get. I have NEVER used the creation club and i somehow had files from it that Bethesda forced into my game file that i didn't even know about. And since i mod my Fallout 4 game heavily this can cause "issues".
Another fix for an issue i had is over lapping dialog. i always forget that high FPS in bethesda games causes issues because of the engine. I was running at 165fps. This caused lots of issues including the dialog issue as well as too fast movement and animations. Capping the game to 60fps fixes this. There are a number of way to set this. Such as in your Nvidia or AMD graphics control panels or in the ini file in the games files. look up more detailed tutorials if you need a hand on how to do this.
I've done all of this for my fallout When at first release of fallout London alright It holds up for about four hours and it still crashes with buffout 4 on as well and Everything you're on about butt it OK Just remind me Fallout 4 used to freeze 🙃 some time When that first came out Butt anyhow I love it so far Specially on survival Really given me fallout vib so fun 😁 How it meant to be played
Dont forget to add long loading times fix... Even with everything it's still running pretty unstable for me, but it was simply unplayable until I installed long load times fix mod. Now it's just stuttering in certain huge world cells and crashing now and then.
Literally just need 2 mods. Buffout 4 and Long wait time fix mods and your golden! :) I've been having an absolute blast so far and it feels like a more polished Fallout 4. Mind the gap.
Completely broken even through GOG, I could wait but even after slapping patch after patch it really is just how the game was released in it's initial state that determines whether or not it'll work partly or crash every two minutes like my shit Fuck that
i did a clean install of a previous version of fallout using the manual method and then used london installer, then installed all the mods manually. i did it before this video mind u.
After I did everything in your video the still crashed and loading screen was long But I found a video recommended installing High FPS physics fix and I played for six hours the crashes are gone and loading screen is fast It could be it or because I was playing with F4SE is enabled So disable F4SE because it automatically comes with London and install High FPS physics fix mod
I've done all of this, my rig is more than capable, and it runs. But man, does it crash, and often. And sometimes just gets stuck in loading screens where the only fix I found was occasionally I could hit the window key, then just click on Fallout screen and it remembers it's loading a game.

Issue is I get brown faces bug and/or blurry textures.
it still takes a long ass time even with that mod
Personally, I'm going to give it 6 months or so to get patched and for optimizations to be figured out. Then dive in.
Which means I will have to hold off on watching playthroughs for a while, but will after that time passes and I then play it.
Nah just Engine Issues
@@gtamike_TSGK ?
Honestly runs amazingly well for a mod as is
It's awesome that you're doing this Gopher, and I'm looking forward to your Lets Play.
Not in the Fallout London folders.
in the GOG version the correct version of Adress Lib is already installed.
Apparently you don't need the supporting files for Buffout.
Shoutout oxhorn for butchering his game and slandering the mod over textures when hes using the high res texture pack
Just drop it in and seems good to go.
for buffout i just downloaded that mod nothing more and instaled manualy works perfectly no more crashes
Awaiting your video on how to install with vortex gopher. Hope its coming along nicely.
4:50 except ofc, when you prevent the game from going online on your firewall. Creation kit will baseline prevent your game from running at all sometimes
Gopher you are the GOAT always coming in helpful ❤
I lost patience with steam version and buy the Gog version on sale. Gog version works like a charm for me. Two crashes only in 20 hours. And no more mods than the buffout
I may do the same. Tried my best to follow all the guides for Steam version, but the frequent crashes are crushing my spirit lol.
It's made and just processing right now :)
@@GophersVidsyesssss, I've been holding off on using Vortex with FOLon until seeing your input. This mod is incredible as is, but these small mod patches will be nice to have.
open the installer and follow the guide
@@lopzxx5036 Installer is garbage unless u have game on GOG i assume, installing with mod manager is the way to go
If your are using the dog chuchill, you must use the mod that changes his fotsteps. Otherwise he will sound like a horse running around
But, I'm glad to see/hear other people have it working and are enjoying it!
The creation club files on steam are loaded by default regardless if you use them or not.
@@VikCachat I'm using the GOG version, but good to know. I meant I've never downloaded Club content so that shouldn't be my issue.
Spam skip on the initial loading screen when you press new game
A lot of us are NOT installing those extra Requirements files from Buffout 4 and the game runs great without them.
This helped a lot. Deleting all the CC content really did stabilise the whole game for me
Good to know. Thanks :)
Ok. Looks like the Buffout 4 fixed some crashes for me. Good info here. Thanks!
I've had a niche crash with ultrawide resolution + truby9 + FOLON compatibility where it would CTD when opening the perk chart to level up to 7 or higher.
I went in and deleted the swf files for perk menues and leveling up in the truby9 and FOLON's compatibilty mods, and that fixed the crash.
fallout london also comes with Baka Scrapheap, so per instructions on buffout 4 page u should also change stuff in buffout 4 and baka's config files.
idk how much of an impact it has if this isnt done but i thought it be worth pounting that out
I just realized I downloaded the NG version of xSE.. and address library for London 😮 Haven't encountered any serious issues though.
same
IIRC the weapon debris issue was for RTX cards, as there's something with the nvidia physX engine that doesn't sit right with the RTX cards. Worked fine on my GTX1070 but doesn't on my 2060 and 3070ti.
Question: Does the HD texture pack still apply to the GOG version?
Well there's a mod that fixes that :)
The two things that was getting me crashes were God Rays and Weapon Debris. I switched off Weapon Debris and set God Rays to low and it fixed everything. I have everything else on Ultra and all other options at the best possible. Sorted. No crashes.
Wish I had this last night when I first started the game. But Buffout did the trick and game has been stable since.
Yeah FO London comes with F4SE, but I didn't find addresses for library, so I installed buffout 4 with everything and now it runs good .
Buffout was enough for me. Running smooth ever since.
Keep up your amazing work!
You have helped me with modding new vegas and now with fallout london. Your tips always work great :)
It worked brother thankyou so much.
Weapon Debris uses NVIDIA FleX which some GPU's dont have.
If you have a card like that I don't think that setting even does anything. I may be mistaken on that though.
it's an overrated mechanic anyway, like for something so small of a detail as weapon debris effect, it's really not that great anyway to even have the detail, bethesda really should just take that stupid feature out.
@@user-tp5yb4hr4w It's an incredibly useful way to test weapon accuracy, though.
Or it would be if the decal range wasn't completely pitiful... (I am on console, though. I'm sure there are mods to increase decal range, but I don't really want to risk it)
@@SabiJD
so what your talking about is not the same thing, the debris effect only shows for a few seconds, the bullet hole in the object is not counted as the same effect, it counts as some other effect, so when this feature is turned off you only notice the bullet hole, you don't notice the debris effect, that's all it really is in the end.
this is why i say it's overrated, because it's just a silly effect that doesn't really do anything for you, it's about as meaningless as that dust effect that shows up when walking on a surface, it only shows for a few seconds and disappears.
Good to know, thanks.
U should definitely do a video where u show what mods that is useful for fallout london :)
Glad I watched this before installing the Mod Great work really looking forward to watching your playthough and checking it out myself.
Thanks SO much for this, and the guide to installing Fallout London - you've saved (most) of my sanity.
Cheers :)
Quick note on the HD DLC
The consenus on this dlc is outdated, when it came out the majority of people were using small low end displays that made seeing the differences impossible.
Buffout 4 is hardly optional.
If your game keeps crashing after the train crash, you need to install Buffout 4.
I havent had fallout 4 installed for years and I'm afraid that a new steam install and then downloading fallout london will screw up the mod.
Ive got the game going fairly stable but now my only issue is the dialogue swapping your perspective randomly x.x its so immersion breaking at times haha
Yep, it doesn't look right most the time
Here's how bad that creation club thing can get. I have NEVER used the creation club and i somehow had files from it that Bethesda forced into my game file that i didn't even know about. And since i mod my Fallout 4 game heavily this can cause "issues".
Doing the Lord's work Gopher.
Hello! I downloaded the gog version of fallout 4, which made life a lot easier 👍
Thanks Alot my London game kept crashing and I had no clue what was going on
Buffout 4 NG is the new updated version.
Have you tried the High FPS fix mod?
@@GophersVids Ah yes i didnt think of that ill get that set up sometime soon. thankyou
I got the mod working and it works for me .
I left a rude comment on a previous video. I deleted it sorry your guides are very helpful.
Completely broken even through GOG, I could wait but even after slapping patch after patch it really is just how the game was released in it's initial state that determines whether or not it'll work partly or crash every two minutes like my shit
Fuck that
Thanks!
Wish I could play this on my series x would be bloody brilliant
i did a clean install of a previous version of fallout using the manual method and then used london installer, then installed all the mods manually. i did it before this video mind u.
Thanks!
I'm having an invisible enemies issue not all just some like the rad pup.
After I did everything in your video the still crashed and loading screen was long
But I found a video recommended installing High FPS physics fix and I played for six hours the crashes are gone and loading screen is fast
It could be it or because I was playing with F4SE is enabled
So disable F4SE because it automatically comes with London and install High FPS physics fix mod
One of the best guidesmen.
I've done all of this, my rig is more than capable, and it runs. But man, does it crash, and often. And sometimes just gets stuck in loading screens where the only fix I found was occasionally I could hit the window key, then just click on Fallout screen and it remembers it's loading a game.
Gopher, thanks for the excellent videos. A question for the group: Is there a widescreen (3440X1440) mod that will work with Fallout London?
I just want them to fix the intro video freeze up on clicking new game. The only way past it is spamming y or t to skip the intro before it freezes.
Super useful video man thank you.
I don't think you need the Buffout 4 dependencies with FOLON. I think they are installed with the FOLON mod by default.
Yeah, one of them is. Address library. I should have spotted that :)
Please do a video on how to reduce loading times and prevent infinite loading screens.
