Have you ever changed the bulbs or the color of the bulbs in the gauge cluster and if you have what brand do you recommend

I only ever switched it out to the LED bulbs that came with the new kit, none of them have burned out. I feel like you can probably just google Miata gauge cluster LED replacement bulbs and there will be lots of options, I’m sure all of them work just fine
