  • Homeschool vs. online PUBLIC school at home, I was a bit confused about how different these two are from one another. If you are like my husband and I , you may be debating between homeschool and an online school such as K12 or Connections Academy. Thankfully, I had a great friend talk me through how different these are and I am so excited to put this video out and be your friend and talk you through it all!

    Such good information! I so felt like I was failing my daughter when we had to do the whole virtual learning until I was working on a welcome sign and she came up and pointed out every single and was right!(she struggled with letter recognition a little)! I want so bad to homeschool but financially and for my children’s sake I think school is what’s best for them I just gotta pray that their fire for our lord is strong enough to out last all the things that come with school

      I 100% understand all of those aspects, and i honestly had those same exact concerns. I will say though, there are ways to homeschool for cheap and even free! And, like I mentioned in the video, it only takes the confidence to start because whatever curriculum you choose the authors and publishers have already laid out all of the details and plans for you! I also know that if it’s something God is calling you to do, he will lead you the way, and it’s not something that all parents are called to, and that’s 100% ok!

      That’s why I home schooled my teenager we have been spending a lot of time together bible study worshipping and I wanted her to get well acquainted with the Lord before I sent her back if I chose to do that.... I know children are children but they can influence others based on their exposure.
      I got expose to a lot of things at school you would be amazed at the conversation that go on.. I know I can’t protect her from everything but I just want her to keep God close to her heart because I know we can’t live without him........ so I pray with you momma that your children will keep God close to their heart

    Yea it’s crazy I can’t imagine how tough it will be for some kids to just sit at a computer screen for that long... thank you for sharing!

    I recently helped my best friend's 16 year old daughter complete her online school. She had done almost none of it & it was due in 2 weeks😂
    She had recently moved and was traumatized by her parents divorce and was going to blow her straight A transcript.
    I stepped in and literally did every class myself - i was shocked at how much bs it was. No kid is going to remember any of the junk i learned in those classes. It was boring and dry. And a lot of it was inaccurate or poorly taught.
    This eye opening experience showed me that i should stick to home schooling.

    Been doing online school but as an essential worker; it means I have to leave the kids to study on their own. We haven’t gained much so am considering home school bse then I can guide them using my own timetable. This has been so helpful

    I want to do online school because I can't handle getting bullied every day anymore

    • @AmongStouts
      @AmongStouts  2 года назад

      I am so sorry that you are having to deal with bullying, no one deserves to be treated badly or disrespected. there are a few different online options to consider k12, connections academy and others would be a great start to look at discuss with your parents.

    I really wish I could home school Alex! The connections academy was not a good fit sadly. 😞

      That’s so sad to hear.. I hope he has a better year this school year. We will have to chat more offline about some options!

      Oh yeah connections has an advanced curriculum that’s what one of the teachers told me.... It is entirely too much work... and I don’t have a problem with work but the amount of stuff you have to do...but I have created a way to take less stress off parents that are attending connections and any other public online school.... would be interested... It’s really just my routine schedule and I have printables for parents to keep up with the virtual schooling

    Am in Texas, what program home school do you recommend. I was gonna give 4timelearning a shot.

    • @AmongStouts
      @AmongStouts  Год назад

      I can’t recommend a specific program because it can be so personal and truly depends on each family and each child. I do have videos on my channel where I share everything I use for my kids and each of their grade levels, there’s content from the last 4yrs kindergarten to eighth grade!
      I have heard great things of time 4 learning and easy peasy I believe is similar and definitely worth checking them both out.

    Why would they care about your breaks. You’re homeschooling not in public school.

    • @AmongStouts
      @AmongStouts  2 года назад +1

      If you’re homeschooling then your breaks are up to you, if online school at home it is still public school and breaks are dictated by that online school program. Which is the difference between the two is a point I was making.

    This isn't a good comparison when you're being so biased, you can't compare two things when you're just bashing one over the other constantly...

    I’m in Texas as well. If I try out the virtual schooling like K12 or Connections Academy: will it be hard to pull them back out of that public school system to go back to homeschooling? Because I’m homeschooling my 3 & 5 year old now but struggling to come up with my own curriculum. And how do I find other homeschooling families

    • @braidedblessed
      @braidedblessed 29 дней назад

      Same I would like to know if it will be hard if I want to pull them out
