This is an amazing clip, where did you find it? The color portion of Midwestern Hayride, my great grandfather's band is seen sitting in the background. I have been searching for this kind of footage for a long time, and I want to know where I can find that particular Hayride episode. Possibly Union terminal in Cincinnati?
Loved the young pictures of Marian Spelman & Ruby Wright singing. Thank you so much. S
Ruth Lyons singing into her bouquet! EXCELLENT! Thanks for posting -
I listened to WLW when I was in Arizona! In the 60s.
A rare look at Cincinnati broadcasting (especially WLW) in the early 1950s (circa 1953). Well preserved.
Outstanding look at a Cincinnati broadcast institution. Very good video quality.
Thanks for sharing this.
I remember driving past Mason, Ohio and seeing all those radio towers lit up at night! What a sight,!
Great Video !!
Excerpts from this rare film can be seen on the recent Ruth Lyons tribute DVD.
I don't believe I've ever seen Peter Grant with that much hair before!
cool vid enjoyed it
I Hope you can find and upload the history of WEBN soon!
WKRQ might be the oldest FM station in Cincinnati? The first air date shows it at 1947 as WCTS.
WLW RADIO I DON'T BELEIVE IT
