Jig making has become a cathartic activity for me. I hadn't previously realized how indispensable and versatile a table saw can be until I made a few.

I’ve seen the possibilities coming with all the t-tract stuff for a while. Highly functional.

Great video! I am in the middle of building a work top for my drill press and getting ready to install T-track into it. I had not thought about the fence clamp and adding T-track to the top of my fence! Very helpful!!

Thanks for the video Jim. I didn't know about the Powertec cam clamps or stop. The stop seems quite useful

4:27 A drop or two of Locktite will prevent your T-nut from coming loose, and won't add any bulk to your jig.

Was just building a sled today, and added track so I could use t-track holdowns as needed. Bought a pack of t-bolts to make my own custom hold downs.

I love the Katz-Moses universal no deflection stop block!

Haven't used Katz-Moses Stop but want to try one - he is a bit pricey tho
... and his red stop won't match my blue t-track and hold downs... yeah, I know... dumb reason but hey 🤪

@@maria-dawnw3595 *grin* Oh, I get what you mean. I bought some red t-track, so it was an easy choice for me. Plus, I like supporting the little guy where I can. I'll still buy from big ones, especially around price, but this seemed like a good investment.

You might want to look at how the cam clamps should be used. I believe you have it totally wrong.

Well specifically the cam clamps. He's completely wrong on those. The handle does not hold your workpiece.

Good video, I really like the T-track ideas! For the hobby Wood working they can be a little cost prohibitive! Lol with all my ideas I could easily spend $$$ a lot of money! If your creative you can find some basics hardware at your hardware store that might be a little cheaper

Hi, I use my homemade jigs all the time, but instead of threaded rod I, use bolts. The head of the bolt goes inside of the “T track” and the star knob screws down to tighten the
    jig.

You sure about that cam clamp?

  • @mikebeck7263

I'm kind of late to the party but for the T-Track nuts you can use blue locktite. Give it a few minutes to dry and it will hold until you put some significant force to take it loose. if you want it more permanent use red locktite.
I usually use toilet flange bolts in my T-track. The heads have that oval shape that makes them slide easily and I don't have to do anything special.

When I saw how you were using the cam locks, I knew watching the rest of your video would be a waste of time.

I think I'd prefer putting bench dog holes in.
