Ty so much
André, would you ever show a video about the beauty of Portugal? Culture, history, landscape?
I would enjoy that.
I agree ...After a while even I am tired of watching videos of the US ..
Let's see something European , Portugal would be interesting.
💯♥
Yes, show us your country!
but that isn't going to get the algorithm like AMERICA will
@@pointlessmanatee I already unsubscribed ,..tired of watching the same old videos. How's that effect the algorithms ?
Hate to break it to ya....but there is true beauty in every State of our beautiful country!! There's no getting around it!!!
The Durango & Silverton is just one of the scenic train rides in Colorado. Another famous one is the Royal Gorge Route.
I live in Colorado and it’s really like this. So many other beautiful places in western Colorado. Eastern Colorado is meh, but western Colorado is amazing.
I agree, Western Co is beautiful, Eastern Co is meh lol
@@ktn71 if you know, then you know. Eastern Colorado is a 💩 hole. It’s like you’re in Kansas before you get to Kansas.
@@hughfuller8416 right lol
Yup, you’ve gotta go west to get to all the good stuff. I’m in the Denver area.
The Colorado Front Range is beautiful too (Central Colorado). It's not just East and West...
its always a great day when Andre posts😊
Top 5 is difficult, but you can't blame anyone for their choices because everything in so many places is so great!
Colorado, Oregon & Montana All have some of the most breathtakingly beautiful scenery !!!!!!!!!!
I stayed in Burns Oregon working for the Forest Service over the summer and fell in love with the beauty of Oregon and Idaho. My dad may even retire to Boise from Arizona since he loves a colder climate and that lifestyle out there.
I’m so happy, and thankful, to call Colorado my home. It’s so beautiful ❤️🇺🇸
You should. Its amazing 🙏
@@european-reacts. Thank you so much. Come and visit any time 🤗
I live in Connecticut and I believe every State in the USA has SOMETHINGS that are unique, beautiful and special. I am very proud to be a United States citizen. One last note… Andre, I feel as though you are “my friend”. I really LOVE your channel. ❤❤❤❤
We took the kids in 1987 to ride the train to Silverton. Beautiful trip. The drive to Silverton from Durango is awesome as well. It is called the Million Dollar Highway and the views are absolutely beautiful and the highway can literally cause your heart to stop a few times. Gail
I've ridden that train and the exact trip they took. It's a lot of fun
Fun experience. Went in the month of September. Beautiful fall foliage. Wore shorts, but when we got to Silverton, it was snowing 😂
I live in Colorado, and while I have never taken that train ride, I have gone on some of the most beautiful drives.
Just remember that most of the those roads do not have any guardrails, even when they have 100+ foot (30+ meter) drop offs.
I’ve lived in Colorado all my life. It’s definitely a very beautiful state with many different types of landscapes. I’ve been on this train several times. Other famous train rides in Colorado are The Georgetown Loop and the Royal Gorge Railroad.
There is a travel company for seniors that offers a series of Colorado's historic railroads on one vacation.
On the wish list!
I live in Colorado, such a magnificent place to live.. Thank you for reacting to Colorado!! They are in the southwest part of Colorado, and the state is very big. The State is very diverse, not all of it is so old western, but it is all beautiful... Please come visit Colorado Andre'!
Ty 🙏 beautiful place.
I live in Colorado and can confirm the San Juans and the Rockies are, indeed, paradise.
I've also been through colorado during the winter and it is beautiful snow everywhere
Me and my dad went to Colorado last summer on a week long fishing trip. It is so beautiful and now my favorite state.
I’ve been on this a few times! Always fun 😊
So happy to call Colorado my home ❤️
André, PLEASE check out Pikes Peak cog train in Colorado. It goes up the side of mountains to the top where they have a cafeteria!❤
It was a beauty that I can't describe. I was too cold and I'm afraid of heights, so I went back inside the summit😂
To enjoy the beauty of the outdoors in Colorado you have to get into the outdoors. You can't get the same feeling if you can't feel the wind on your face and smell the air. After a rain storm in Colorado it smells heavenly. In the spring on the highway between La Veta and Cuchara Colorado the choke cherry bushes bloom and in the morning if you drive that road it smells like perfume.
I used to live in Colorado and it is that beautiful! I lived every minute I was there!
I love it when you say “holy sweet potato”.
Colorado resident here Andre. I've done both the Durango & Silverton and the Cumbres & Toltec (Southern Colorado/New Mexico) Scenic Railroads. Both are pretty spectacular. It's nice to be able to relax and enjoy the scenery without driving at the same time...

Please react to Florida Trail Blazer.
andre, here in "Silicon Valley" it was 37.7 centigrade today 😲 and over 32 C is predicted for the next few days. AC definitely needed 🙂We did have a to burn a little natural gas today but it was still 80% zero emission grid (73% solar, and also hydroelectric and nuclear to get to 80%). Net export of 1.8 GW most of the afternoon. 🙂 Durango does appear to be very beautiful, and the other good news is that I looked it up, and it seems they voted correctly in 2020; they did not vote for Trump. nice. 🙂
I've lived in Connecticut, Colorado, Montana and Oregon....if I had to pick my favorite state hands down its New Hampshire......
So many States I’ve been to and saw such beauty in each one; unique beauty in each one.
Yes. Colorado is gorgeous!
This is a great video. i was born and raised in Trinidad, Colorado, which is a coal mining & ranching town in South Eastern Colorado. i have lived in other major urban cities in the country, but am so happy to be back home.
We like to ride it in the fall. The trees changing colors are gorgeous, but then no matter the time of year it is ALWAYS gorgeous. We always take it on into Silverton. There are so many great trains to ride in Colorado & New Mexico.
I did tell you about the railroad trips..in my backyard...lol....the San Luis valley is soooo beautiful...Colorado native of 62 years my friend...The trip on the railway up pikes peak is awesome my friend...I believe the sign as you enter the state says welcome to colorful Colorado but the real color is in the fall when the Aspens are changing...
Kebler Pass from Crested Butte is amazing in the fall when the aspens turn
Hello from Colorado Springs! This state is beautiful and amazing!
I'm leaving you a comment because I have actually done this train ride!!! After leaving the Marines I was accepted to a college in Durango Colorado and spent four years living in the town! I'm so glad that you're getting to see and enjoy this part of America!
I am thankful to be born in Colorado, I have been exploring here all my life (over 40 years), and there is still so many amazing places to see. Colorado is great for drone footage (I recently bought a drone). I have already been to 6 new places this year that I had never been before in Colorado. I enjoy your reactions! 😀
Have ridden this train many times and my grandma volunteered for the railroad for almost 20 years. The San Juans will forever hold a special place in my heart
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Imagine how much work it took to carve that railbed through those mountains and on the side of those cliffs .Something that can't be captured on video is the fresh clean pine smell of the mountain air , it completely changes your mood and makes you feel very alive .
Most big states have several terrains.
Colorado is Top 5 for most people. I've been on this railroad as well as the one from Chama, New Mexico to Antonito, Colorado. Both are excellent. A+K are two of the best travel creators on youtube.
I road the Silverton/ Durango train when I vacationed at the Purgatory Ski resort in 2016. I've got crazy, close-to-the-edge photos of the train rounding the mountain. The day I road was a beautiful early fall day, with blue skies and golden colored trees.
The train comes past an airfield where you and a pilot can be towed into the air and released to soar on the wind. I went many times, and on one flight a Golden Eagle flew alongside close enough that i could see his eyes focus on me. Oh yah!
Colorado is beautiful. So is Portugal. Share that with us, please.
In place of cream they use coconut cream, or almond milk. Soy milk or oat milk. Eggs can be replaced with molasses and corn starch, honey is replaced with sugar. Vegan means no animal products...no animal bi products. Basically, if it had a face, or came from something with a face...can't be used in vegan foods.
I lived in Colorado for 12 years and have definitely taken this train ride, also one from Denver, over the Rocky Mountains to Grand Junction Colorado and they were both so amazing, am I crazy my friend....lol
Yes Andre, pulled pork sandwich is BBQ
Every summer some friends and I would plan a week long trip to Colorado and ride our motorcycles over all the mountain passes and camp in the parks! I would not trade those memories for anything!
Yep, live in Colorado. This train is wonderful to do... have done it several times. All of our railroads are worth doing!
The train in the winter snow is breathtaking!
I have lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, Maryland n Alaska( last 15 years) I have traveled to 47 of 50 states. My favorite states are Hawaii ( we have a codo on Kawaii n stay there 1 month every Jan.), Maine, Oregon n of course Alaska. Mt McKinley ( which has been renamed back to Mt Denali) is beautiful. Here you see alot of wildlife moose, alot of bears, eagles, whales, n so many more. I did ski 2 times in Aspen,Colorado but love skiing at so many places around Alaska. I do alot of cross-country skiing on many trails n meet many beautiful animals. I know you like to pause alot, but😢
I lived in Colorado for 5 years but had to return to Illinois because of my mom's health. Colorado is so clean, beautiful, and the people are friendly. I loved it there!
You’re right, dogs are angels without wings. 😊😊❤
This is where I live! ❤❤❤
Its beautiful
Same here! I've lived all over the country. Been here for 7 years now. By far my favorite place.
I only live an hour away, but I haven't taken that ride since the 80's when it was still steam (coal, I think) powered.
Oh! Thank you for sharing
On another video of yours I mentioned how amazing Silverton and Animas Forks is in Colorado. Taking a trip up and then camping along the Animas is an amazing time. Panning for gold etc
14:56 I have to go there, just so I can order the Blue Waffle Cone, Sorry the Blue "Corn" Waffle Cone.
I just drove through Durango leaving Mesa Verde last week. It's a beautiful state.
I learned to ice skate in Colorado, when I was young!
You would love Colorado. I have a home in Key West, Wisconsin and Colorado and I am always drawn to live in Colorado more than the rest.
When my son was a little boy my wife and I took him on that train during the summer from Durango all the way to Silverton. A few years later we went during a winter ski trip and rode the train up to Cascade Canyon. Couldn't go any further because of avalanche threats; there was lots of snow on the mountains. Both trips were wonderful, memories for a lifetime for a little boy.
I am blessed to live in Colorado! I have taken this scenic railway (about 40 years ago) and agree that the open car is the way to run so you can get the full effect. The mountain pass you go over between Durango (6,500 ft), Silverton (9,000 ft) and Ouray, just north of Silverton is called the Million Dollar Highway. It is called that because it reportedly cost $1,000,000 per mile to build back in 1880.
Colorado girl here. I traveled the mountains from one end of Colorado to the other. I lived in Glenwood Springs and No Name Colorado. Yes, that’s the real name! Durango, Silverton (Million Dollar Highway) is the most beautiful scenic drive in the Autumn. The colors are amazing.
Been on that train, some places you look over the edge and the rails are just out in space on one side...pretty scary for me. But I got some gorgeous pictures for sure. There are so many beautiful drives in that area, just good wide roads and the views don't end for hours. I lived south of Durango, and took only 1/2 hour to drive to New Mexico, and the drive is like going through a live Old West movie, the red rocks and blue skies so gorgeous. All a super flat, easy drive. Worked in Durango, it's a super fancy tourist town and tons of food and history things to do.
I am from Colorado, and I have actually ridden both of the railways in Durango, and they are both absolutely gorgeous.
Sitting around the campfire and everybody's high Rocky mountain high Colorado.
Thanks for letting me experience Colorado with you.
You have to see the Cumbres & Toltec Railroad that leaves from Chama, New Mexico, too. It’s my son’s favorite train, and they have an open car, too (no roof, no seats!).
I was born and raised in (Denver) Colorado whos state saying on many cars license plates is "Colorful Colorado". This is one example of why. Sadly, I took it for granted and moved away 40 years ago. There are so many beautiful places in the US, it's hard to go wrong wherever one chooses to live when it comes to natural beauty.
I have not yet taken this trip, but my sister (who still lives in CO) took it for her 50th wedding anniversary and said it was wonderful (even as a Colorado native)
Trains are a huge part of the romance of the Old West! We love them, too!
So many old westerns had trains in them!!
I’ve been in this train dozens of times. The first ride was in 1961. It just keeps getting better each time.
I'm a Coloradan and this is a great trip. You can also ride a bike or hike the many, many trails in this area. The drive on the highway north from Durango to Silverton and on over Red Mountain Pass to Ouray on the million dollar highway is fabulous. You can enjoy the hot springs in Ouray which is very close to Telluride and Lake City via jeep trails.
❤ from CALIFORNIA. 🇺🇲
We live in Colorado and I’ve ridden the Durango Silverton Railway a few times and I recommend taking it all the way to Silverton. My wife and I are fans of vintage railroads and there’s a few in Colorado, including the Georgetown Loop and the Pikes Peak Cog Railway. I believe there are RUclips videos for those trains as well.
I'm from iowa, but my parents took me on this train when I was a kid.
One thing they always forget to mention. Colorado is high desert. Durango (where this train is) is often well over 100 degress Farenheit (37.7 C) and dry enough to make your nose bleed.
I'm from Colorado. I've cried many tears while looking at the beauty I was seeing. My childhood was spent exploring the mountains with my parents, brother, and sister. This continued with my own son when I grew up. Now he is taking his own family on adventures. 🏔
I rode this train as a kid in the '80's from Durango to Silverton. It made such an impression I still remember now. I agree you should show us some of Portugal too!
We have a cool train in New Mexico, too. It’s called The RailRunner (based on the coyote/roadrunner cartoons.
When the doors open and close, they chirp “meep meep” just like the Roadrunner (a real bird who may or may not say Meep Meep).
Don' forget Durango & Silverton's main rival, the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad in northern New Mexico... Just as much a wonderful ride through the mountains...
Hope to do that train ride in the future
We live in Nebraska, but visit Colorado often. We have taken this train ride from Durango to Silverton and back a couple of times! Absolutely incredible!!
I live in the Texas Panhandle and have ridden this train about 5 times in the last 45 yrs. and it IS BEAUTIFUL. I think the price for a ticket all of the way to Silverton back in the 70's was around $20 give or take. If you ever get the chance I would highly suggest this train trip.
I live in Loveland Colorado with a view of the Mountains.
Most RUclips videos showing drives to Rocky Mountain National Park don’t show the route through Loveland and Big Thompson Canyon which is my favorite.
My second favorite Northern Colorado drive is to Steamboat Springs. The mountain vistas, changes in terrain, wildlife spotting and altitude changes are unmatched. Go during Rodeo season and enjoy the hot springs, tubing on the Yampas river and a host of activities!
I've ridden that train :) It's such a beautiful/fun ride. Durango is where I was born. You were wondering about the vegan ice cream cone (thinking peanut butter was vegan). I think it's the milk or cream. Don't vegans stay away from milk, etc because it comes from animals? They probably use a milk substitute for the ice cream. I'm not vegan so I might not know what I'm talking about
I love Colorado. I used to take a ski trip after New Year’s for a week every year. It was the best time of year because the crowds were usually there for the holidays, Christmas and New Year’s. We had the slopes to ourselves.
I do believe my friend you are going to have to take a year off from work to see everything you want to see and do in America. You need to see all 4 seasons and go to all the sports events because different sports are played in different times of the year. So…. you are just going to have to move here to experience everything you want to see.😊
I rode the train from Durango all the way to Silverton, which was so amazing! Silverton is a historical mining town and was fun to explore and grab a bite to eat. Highly recommend, views are beyond amazing. Also, they didn’t show it, but my train let off a bunch of steam on that little bridge they showed and it was cool to see.
I went to college in Durango, and it was a great experience. Durango is so beautiful! !
I have been on the Durango to Silverton train several times. It's the best train I've been on, never boring. Scenery and wildlife views are amazing! Recommend Handlebars Restaurant in Silverton and fit in as many gift shops as you can. Recommend the open gondola. You will be closer to nature. I usually bring a blanket with me in case it rains, since you're outside and even during the summer it gets really cold when it rains. As I said in another video, when you come to the US, you could knock off several things by doing northern Arizona and southwestern colorado.
I live 3 hours away from Durango and visit frequently. The San Juan mountains are great.
The peanut butter is vegan, but the ice cream that it is in is also vegan.
Yes born and lived 55 yr in CO. Durango the best. There is a train ride also through Royal Gorge. You should do a video of Royal Gorge Bridge in co and one of Bishops Castle Rye co in wet mountains I had a house in mountains that area in Blumenau we used to ride our mountain bikes to little ghost town of Rosita near us. It is a cool town with. Very old cemetary. Later lived closer to Estes Park look that mountain town up. And Westcliffe and Rosita
The reds and yellows your thinking about are in the autumn when the leaves change their colors before falling from the trees, thus Autumn's nickname "Fall "
I lived in Colorado and have ridden that train and some others also. Go for it if you can while in the U. S. You might want a western adventure in Colorado, Utah, New Mexico etc. Yes Colorado is really beautiful, but I prefer Oregon and Washington state. Just saying....
For about 7 years now I’ve been living in a town in Colorado that is always at or near the top of a lot of the best places to live in the US lists, and I would move back to the PNW in a heartbeat if I could. Still, it’s very beautiful here and is a nice place to live
Home🥰Glad you reacted to this one. I'm so happy to be going home this winter! Yes, been on the train many times and it runs right by my dad's backyard. The San Juan Mountains are beautiful. The whole area from mountains to desert are amazing to explore. The food in the region is something I really miss! I've lived all over the region and would highly recommend a road trip. No Interstates, just small towns and wide-open country.
I really do love living in Colorado. It is ridiculously beautiful. Royal Gorge Railroad is another really cool old train route with even more beautiful scenery, in my opinion, but all of the Parks, Wildlife and Scenic Views here are incredible.
Born and raised in Colorado. I can’t imagine growing up anywhere else. Granted, Portugal is beautiful but it’s looks so hot there.
I’m am thrilled to tell you that I have ridden that train a few times. It is absolutely beautiful there. When I retire from my job in Texas, I will hopefully be moving to that area. I have a few acres near Silverton Colorado. If you go, you will have a great time on the train. It’s a bit expensive, but I find it worth the money. Don’t miss the train museum there, too. It’s very good. And so much outdoor recreation in much of that area. Be careful when you visit, the high altitude can make one gasping for breath. So don’t over exert yourself.
LOL !!! This couple must be experimenting with another Colorado thing, Legal Cannibus . They are so happy and really enjoyed their ice creams. LOL !!!
Hi Andre! I’ve lived in Colorado all of my life except for 1 1/2 years. I had to come back. Colorado has 54 peaks above 14,000 feet. Come visit!
The narrow gauge railroad runs along the Animas river! Narrow winding steep and beautiful! If you choose to drive from Durango to Silverton you will be driving all of the million Dollar highway which also has spectacular views if you choose to go all the way down to Ouray Colorado, You’re on the very edge of the mountain as you travel downhill!
I lived in Colorado for a long time. Wyoming & Alaska, too, but Texas for most of my life. Rode the Durango Silverton steam train about 30 -40 (?) years ago. Have been all over Colorado- it is incredible. Look for the Royal Gorge, Canon City, Mesa Verde, Telluride Jazz Festival, Garden of the Gods, Woodland Park,Steamboat Springs, Estes Park, Pikes Peak Cog Railway, Red Rocks (don't miss the downstairs museum) and lots more... so many incredible destinations in the state!
I live in a western suburb of Denver a couple of miles from the mountains with a view of the Front Range. I truly love it here. I was born here, have traveled the country and can't really think of anyplace Id rather be.
