Oregonian here and happy that they got the Marion Berry Pie correct. For those not overly fond of pie, Tillamook does an excellent Marion Berry Pie icecream! It's super yummy.
Yeah, I feel like that's one of the few they got correct! I just wish it didn't come off as so unassuming/boring. I get a marionberry pie every year for my birthday because they're so ridiculously delicious.
I agree. They did get it correct. Tillamook also makes a great marionberry yogurt. For those outside of Oregon the berry tastes very similar to boysenberries imho.
I've had better doughnuts than Krispy Kreme. They gave us Krispy Creme Doughnuts after church a few times. I wouldn't buy them. Better doughnuts at my local grocery store bakery.
When Krispy Kreme entered the Oregon market about 10 or so years ago, there were people lined up around the block waiting to try them. The Portland Police had to have a special traffic control unit to keep the cars moving also. There are only 2 or 3 Krispy Kreme outlets in the state that I'm aware of. Original Glaze right out of the oven is my favorite.
@@julienielsen3746 I'm with you. My family makes fun of me because unlike them, I don't trip over my own feet trying to get to Krispy Kreme to sit in the drive-thru for 30 minutes, and get doughnuts at twice the price, and half the taste compared to the "mom and pop" bakery four blocks away. To each his own, but I tried them three times, once in the 1990s when someone bought some for me, once at a friend's house and five years ago, because I was hungry and that's all she had that didn't need cooking, and the summer of 2022, because my favorite place was out of lemon-filled. They were disappointing. Dunkin Donuts opened here a few months ago, and I don't know if I'll like them, but may stop by to see.
I'm from Iowa originally, and I totally don't agree with ice cream making this list. Lots of Iowans probably don't even know that Blue Bunny ice cream is headquartered in Iowa. I'd have gone with scotcheroos. They're a dessert bar made of puffed rice cereal mixed with peanut butter and butterscotch, topped with a layer of chocolate. Very popular in Iowa!
I wish people realized how ridiculously delicious Oregon marionberry pie really is! I know it sounds very unassuming, but it's incredible. Add some Tillamook vanilla bean ice cream on the side and you've got a next-level dessert.
Key Limes are a specific kind of lime that is more citrusy in flavor than regular limes. They're small but they pack a big flavor and they make an awesome pie.
I'm from Chicago, They were thinking of Garrett's Chicago mix of caramel popcorn and cheese popcorn. It is definitely desert, and is excellent, although I would not say it is the most popular in Illinois. A better choice would have been Portillo's chocolate cake, which is unbelievable.
@@mikeg.4211 Hi. I'm from Chicagoland but not directly in the city. While Garrett's is great, I still don't consider it a proper dessert. Tasty snack. Now Portillo's Chocolate Cake is an awesome dessert! I totally agree.
Florida man here! Key lime pie is what I grew up with. The recipe is so easy that you could make it in 5 minutes. It’s the waiting for it to set firm that makes you angry :p
I'm from Idaho and I can assure that the ice cream potato is fantastic. We also love everything huckleberry here, including huckleberry ice cream and pie.
When we visit idaho, my mom always loads up on Huckleberries, she spends a lot for frozen berries if we are there out of season. I was surprised something Huckleberry wasn’t chosen.
I am from Northern California. Key limes are different than standard limes, having a special flavor due to the acid content. Key limes, also known as Mexican limes or West Indian limes, are rounder and much smaller than regular limes. They are named after the Florida Keys, where they were first cultivated in the 19th century. Key Lime pie is delicious. We usually eat it for spring or summer as it is very refreshing. Pie is indeed my favorite dessert preferring it to cake. We make pies often and by season. For fall examples are apple and pumpkin, summer for peaches, strawberries other fruits that grow, pecan is often at Christmas, banana cream or coconut cream we make any time of the year. This last Saturday we made pie as our dessert. A pie we have never done before with both lemon and lime juice in it topped with fresh cream which is similar to Key Lime Pie. It is called an Atlantic Beach Pie. - delicious
The last stop on a cruise to the Bahamas was Ket West ,Florida, the first thing that I did after getting off the cruise ship before going back home, was get a piece off KL pie, it had more flavor ,then others I have tried.
I don't know why Utah got stuck with Jello, it's really not that popular here. According to the last poll I saw on the subject, we're not even the state that eats the most of it. I agree with the other Utahn, we definitely eat more ice cream. It's not unusual at all for Utahns to go out for ice cream in the dead of winter. If you'd like to hear about a more unusual dessert, how about a banana boat? Take a banana, split it down the middle the long way, fill it with chocolate chips and marshmallows, wrap it in aluminum foil, and stick it in a fire or on a grill until it's all gooey. It's usually eaten while camping.
I’m from New Jersey. Cannoli is more NJ’s favorite dessert. Blueberry Pie is our state dessert as Hammonton, NJ is known as the blueberry capital of the world (sorry Maine). Salt Water Taffy, while created in NJ and a famous NJ candy, it’s not dessert. The machine you see in the clip is a taffy puller. It used in a lot of candy manufacturing and is used to add air and mix colors or flavors in the product. The most iconic candy of New Jersey are M&M’s. The original plant and still headquarters for the M&M Mars Company is in Hackensack, NJ.
I am from Hawaii. Although we do like shave ice ("Ice shave" - if your from Kona), we have loads of other local favorites like sweet potato haupia pie, malasadas, chantilly cake, chichi dango (mochi), etc.
A Utahn here. I don’t know why we always get labeled with Jello as our dessert. Most people I know don’t even eat it. 🤢 I’d say we have ice cream for dessert more than anything.
Same thing here. I even did make Jello before a medical procedure because it was the only "solid" thing they would let me consume. Hated it, and threw half of it away. We do ice cream, cheesecake, brownies...etc
Hey! Tennessee here. Banana pudding is amazing, but Texas sheet cake is my favorite…Moist chocolate cake with thick, firm chocolate icing. Oh my! Am I crazy? 😁❤️
Minnesotan here. The blueberry muffin is not something we typically eat for dessert. I think it was on here only because we have a lot of wild blueberries here & the blueberry muffin has become the state muffin (not dessert) I think cheesecake (with blueberry topping) would have been a better choice. Also, I love key lime pie! So much more tart than a simple lemon pie! 🙂
@@mimikannisto4418I was also thinking this. I've eaten a ton of rhubarb desserts living in Minnesota, also another one would be bread pudding. Every sit-down restaurant I know serves bread pudding.
I'm a life-long resident of Wyoming and had never heard of cowboy cookies, nor do i know anyone who has heard of them. I'd say our most popular dessert is either ice cream or chocolate chip cookies.
I’m from Southwest Indiana… After college I moved to South central Indiana, it wasn’t until I came here that I’ve heard of Sugar Cream Pie; and much to my surprise I was informed it was Indiana’s state pie… Growing up we had different desserts for different occasions… pies (pumpkin, coconut cream, chocolate, pecan) for Thanksgiving; candies, cookies, and cream puffs for Christmas, and cakes (Angel Food, Italian Cream, German Chocolate) for other times of year; and brownies are typically always available
Plain glazed donuts are my fave too, but a close runner up is a cream filled vanilla (icing) long John. Key Lime is tied as my fave pie with Pumpkin & Blueberry - 3 way tie. So yes, is AMAZING.
We have lived in nine states. Key Lime Pie is so good! I love all the fruit pies listed. I live in Utah, and can testify that we have many more popular desserts than Jell-O. One of my favorites is Utah Opera Fudge Cake.
Smith Island cake in Maryland is delicious, unfortunately today one of our bridges has collapsed in sn accident in Baltimore its they Key bridge, with casualties 😢
Watching from Alabama. A little help with pronunciation - Arkansas has a silent S on the end, so it's more like Arkansah. Key lime pie is really good, but I like lemon cream pie a little better. There's also key lime cake, which I think is delicious, and I feel the same about lemon supreme cake. Yes, pies are very popular in the US. People in the south often have some type of dessert for themselves and guests at all times, and it's cake, pie or both, especially in the homes of older people. If I wanted fried pies, (look them up) cobbler, cake, pies, cookies, banana pudding, pecan pie, rice pudding, brownies.... whatever, I'd go to my great-great-grandmother, grandmother or older aunts because they'd have at least two of these and they'd be homemade. 🙂 My mom worked, so she didn't get to bake homemade as often as my retired elders, but she would do so at least twice a month on weekends. 🙂
Im from Oregon, and i don't know about others but in my whole family marionberry pie is like the best thing we can get as a treat, i have actually sparred with my brother in taekwondo for the last piece, i won

I'm from California (Bay Area). I've never been a doughnut person. The only kinds I like are the simple old fashioned style donuts with a light glaze sometimes, but after a couple of bites, I just feel sick. 🤢 Also yes, pies are delicious. Pies are probably my favorite kind of dessert. 🥧
From Kentucky, the bourbon ball was a solid choice for our state and there plenty to choose from, though bread pudding with bourbon sauce, jam cake, butter cake, and Derby pie would also have been solid choices.
Lifelong resident of Washington State and no one that I know of in their right mind thinks of Starbucks for dessert. I still don't know what it was they showed. I've never seen it. Id certainly think it should have been apple or cherry pie.

Key lime pie is delicious but definitely sweet. Indiana's Sugar cream pie is my favorite but it's really sweet too. Also pecan pie and peanut butter pie and peanut butter buckeyes candy. I could go on and on 😁
I am 72 and have lived in Alabama most of my life. I have never even seen, much less eaten, a Lane cake. I don't know anyone who has. I have no idea why it was made the state dessert.
Apple dumplings are my favorite. I come from a small town in Northern California whose major industry used to be apples, Gravensteins in particular. Even though that's not how the town makes its money anymore apples are still a big thing. Every spring there's an Apple Blossom Parade and festival and in late summer there's an Apple Fair where apples are served an a variety of ways. Gravensteins are tart and make great hard cider and there's a local pizza place that puts them on pizza for the couple months they're available. Apple dumplings are apples that are cored and wrapped in pastry dough and baked with a cinnamon sauce that caramelizes as it bakes. They're perfect with vanilla ice cream. 😋
From Massachusetts, but yeah key lime pie is great. I read somewhere that pies were common before baking powder was invented because things like cakes required a lot of beaten eggs to be light. Which is why there is the phrase "Easy as pie". Something like that.
The stretching machine is making candy. To make Salt Water Taffy, you have to boil sugar and corn syrup (and some other stuff) to the Tread stage (250-253 F / 102 - 112 C) and then work it to death to make a chewy candy. When making it at home, you just do this by hand. But if you're making large batches in a shop setting, you'll want one of those stretching machines or you would need to hire 5 or 6 people who do nothing but pull taffy all day.
One thing I notice about Europeans that try American sweets or desserts is that Europeans may not be used to the very strong sweet taste that Americans are used to alot of sugar. Many Europeans will say "that dessert tastes too sweet"
Peanut butter is very healthy as long as you get the natural version, made simply with peanuts and salt. It's high in protein and certain vitamins and minerals. If you don't keep it refrigerated, you will have to stir it before you eat it each time though.
Huckleberries are in things all over Montana. But, if you want a pie filling, it's almost $30 a jar. If you want a gallon size bag of huckleberries, 15 years ago they were $60 a bag, have no idea what they are now. I don't see huckleberry pie on any manus and I don't know anyone who makes them. So, this is always amusing. We can get the ice cream, honey, jam, chocolates but I've never seen a huckleberry pie.
@@rhiahlMT I haven't seen them sold in years. Except for the products that contain them. The one store that sold them near me went out of business about 6 years ago.
I used to pick huckleberries on my grandparents' property during the early 2000's. We've made huckleberry pie, but we always had to go out and pick it ourselves. I have very fond memories of this berry and plan on growing this shade loving bush on my property so others can experience the delicious Wonder that is a huckleberry pie. (It is sweet first and a little tart; if you can get past the tiny seeds, it is a wonderfully tasty pie to have with whipped cream on top!)
To make a best of the best dessert list mostly from this list, are some you need to try on your visit here are as follows, in no particular order. Pecan pie, New York Style cheesecake, Banana pudding, Sweet potato pie, Coconut cake, Cream puffs, Whoopie pie, Buckeyes, Peach cobbler, and Apple pie. There are a few desserts that for some strange reason that wasn't included on this list. Pumpkin pie, Carrot cake, and Chocolate silk pie. Those stand head and shoulders above the rest. Also when you make it here find yourself a Krispy Kreme Doughnut store with a hot now sign hanging in the window. Once you see that sign turned on and glowing red make sure you drop everything to go inside and buy a dozen glazed doughnuts, and either a large cup of coffee or a large lemonade if you don't like coffee. Fair warning, it is a life changing experience..
Key limes are much smaller than traditional Persian limes. Also more yellow than green, and sweeter. They make an amazing pie. We had a key lime cheesecake at our wedding. Topped with whipped cream. It was awesome.
in hawaii we have Malasadas the locals would get them often and thyere from the portugese , shave ice is not somthing the locals would get nearly as much its almost praticly tourist food.
I'm from Michigan - and that video was my cousin's fudge shop. I remember when she passed that around a few years back. They make the best Mackinaw fudge.
There's a town called Uranus, Missouri, that's also known for its excellent fudge shops. They're all proud to sell it to you in bags bearing the slogan "I got this fudge from Uranus!" I'm not sure if the Portuguese pronunciation carries the same implication.
Key Lime Pie is my favorite. It is made from a special kind of lime. It grows only in tropical and subtropical areas. It is a small and very acidic fruit and grows on a small bushy tree. It has a wonderful flavor in pies, even better than lemon meringue pie IMHO. For those that don't know, real key lime pie is not bright green.
Watching from Kansas & I had never heard of Sheridan's before today, but that's probably because the only Kansas location is in Topeka. IF the favorite desert is really Frozen Custard, the more common establishment would be Freddy's Frozen Custard. I don't know the history of Sheridan's, but Freddy's was started by an Army Veteran from Kansas. The great thing about Freddy's is that you aren't limited to just frozen custard, but you can also get an actual meal there. Considering frozen custard usually makes me sick, I typically pass on it. I'm surprised that the Dirt Cake or Peppernut Cookies were not on the list for Kansas. Sopaipilla - Delicious Key lime pie - Delicious Peach cobbler - Delicious Beignets - Delicious Mississippi Mud Pie - Delicious Salt Water Taffy - Delicious Cheesecake - Delicious Fried Pies - Delicious Banana Pudding - Delicious Pecan Pie - Delicious Apple Pie - Delicious Some favorites from our family are Blackberry Cobbler, Peach Cobbler, Apple Pie, Cherry Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, Strawberry Pie, Cucumber Pie (yes, you read that correct), Pecan Pie, Fried Pies, Banana Pudding, Key Lime Pie, Coconut Cream Pie, Banana Cream Pie & Lemon Meringue Pie...large family, lots of favorites and I've made most of them.
Key Lime Pie is best in Key West, Florida. My husband & I eloped there and had our wedding cake made using Key Lime cake, Key Lime icing, and Key Lime filling -- sheer perfection!
I'm from Hawaii. Malasadas are also a popular dessert. It is said that malasadas originates from the Portugal. It is said that it is similar to filhós.
I'm from Georgia, pecan pie, peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream, sweet potato pie, banana pudding and a layer cake with white cake topped with chocolate icing between 3 to 7 layers and topped with pecans...and as a child, I always wanted a coconut cake for my birthday.
I’m in VA and have rarely seen chess pie on a dessert menu. Peanut Brittle is common around here, peanut butter silk pie, peanut butter cheesecake, banana pudding, apple crisp, squash pie.
I'm a Miami native and grew up with a Key Lime tree in my backyard (along with a valencia orange tree, a ruby red grapefruit tree, a mango tree, a lowquat tree, and a guava tree and a Florida Avocado tree....as a kid I ate a lot of great home made desserts & breakfast glasses of natural fruit juices
My parents' house in Florida has a key lime tree. That image in the video is NOT real key lime pie. Key limes are yellow, not green (at least not when ripe). It's a mix of key lime juice, and those are REALLY tiny - about 25 make 3/4 cup or 177 ml; 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk, and 2 eggs for one pie. It's a creamy yellow color and very sweet, but very tart/sour. I make a couple for neighbors at Christmas because that is when they're ripe, if I can get my parents to send me some. You get a good arm workout squeezing 25 limes per pie! I'm in Georgia, and a peach dessert is too obvious, in my opinion. More people clamber for my pecan pies than any peach cobbler I've made. Pecan pie (the pronunciation is a debate all into itself) is sweet corn syrup (which is highly regulated in Europe), eggs, and pecans. It's SUPER sweet! But the nuts balance it out...sort of. I'd claim a pecan pie for Georgia than a peach something. Maybe a peanut butter pie since we're also known for peanuts? Beignets in Louisiana are drops from Heaven. Absolutely addictive, from the first bite. Fried dough with sugar on top. So light and flaky, with so much powdered sugar on top....oh, now I'm really drooling.
Watching from Pennsylvania here, hi! Whoopie pies are definitely popular, but shoefly pie is also popular, due to having a large Amish population in our state, and both desserts originate with them.
He retired from playing baseball before I was born, but we saw him on local Pittsburgh commercials as I was growing up for his company. Former Pittsburgh Pirates player, "Pie" Traynor. He got his nickname because he loved pies better than cakes.
Peach Cobbler from Georgia is fantastic but I would say that the state's most world renowned dessert is Red Velvet Cake and made the Georgia way with Coca Cola as in Savannah.
Ugly Pie in Salisbury Maryland USA only makes pies. No cakes,no muffins just pies. Apparently people are moving away from cakes at their events like bridal showers, weddings and such. The Smith Island Cake is quite popular here. I personally love the lemon, the coconut, and the chocolate.
Peanut butter can be a healthy part of a balanced diet-just a small amount packs plenty of protein, healthy fats, and essential vitamins and minerals. However, added sugar, salt, and unhealthy oils may make it more of a junk food. It really depends on the peanut butter you buy. The health food store near me has a giant grinder and you just hold your container under it and grind out what you want. It's not very smooth but it sure is tasty.
I'm from Arizona & absolutely love sweet fry bread with honey & powdered sugar....definitely worth more than a passing glance but I think prickly pear candies or date shakes deserves to be mentioned for Arizona as well....I love key lime pie....peach cobbler deserves to be higher on the list....André shaved ice is so good you need to give it a try....fresh beignets are delicious....try making peanut butter & Jelly sandwiches with banana or bacon or peanut butter & honey or marshmallow fluff....peanut butter is surprisingly good for you....banana pudding is delicious & deserves to be higher....cream puffs are heaven
Im from the south. Georgia to be exact. You must try homemade banana pudding. Not instant banana pudding. Quick banana pudding is Tasty, but it cannot hold a candle to a real homemade Banana pudding. that's just a fact. Here in the South, all of our grandmother's had cakes or pies always in the house for after dinner. When I was looking for recipes to do a family cookbook, I found that all of my aunt's and uncles cooked by sight. Nobody wrote anything down, but everybody had dozens and dozens of recipes for pies and cakes.😅😅😅 I have some recipes for homemade Southern pies and cakes if you want to try them.
I am Colorado! The roll things are famous but hardly the best or only dessert, I think they are famous for originating here but I wouldn't call them iconic or front-of-mind for most people in the area. There is a Duffy Roll bakery not too far from one of my favorite coffee shops, so maybe I shouldn't holler too loudly about this (but I think they probably just chose something identifiable rather than well known, at least for CO). Many of the desserts mentioned ARE iconic or unique, or at least well-known, but I don't feel like CO has that in the dessert category.
Adams brand peanut butter is the healthiest peanut butter and the only kind that doesn't nauseate me! It has no added sugar nor oils. Just peanuts and salt.
Americans love pie. Abraham Lincoln's (from Illinois) favorite desert was blackberry pie, which is fantastic and popular here. Also, very popular in northern Illinois is chocolate cake from Portillo's, which should have been featured for Illinois. Key lime, pumpkin and berry pies, as well as all fruit pies are all very popular in the US.
I'm from Massachusetts! I think the majority of these desserts look really great. Personally, I'm a big fan of various types of cake. I think that you should try some of these! Key Lime Pie is fabulous, and you can have it in many places besides Florida. The key lime comes from the Florida Keys(islands off the coast). I love peach cobbler and apple pie, my favorites.
Pies are popular because many originated from home, using local fruits and other ingredients when they came in season. The recipes would be passed on among the ladies often at church socials where everyone brought a dish from home for the event.
I grew up in Louisiana but I live in Kansas. I can attest that frozen custard is better than ice cream in every way. And yes, beignets are delicious, especially with coffee. Edit to add: Yes, we love pie. My personal favorite is strawberry rhubarb.
I agree with everything you said except the strawberry rhubarb pie. The only time I liked it was when I made it wrong and put too much strawberries and not enough rhubarb.
I think you just don't know how good American pies are. Lots of Europeans don't think they'll like baked fruit, but the sugars in the fruit caramelize during cooking and make the flavors even better. Highly recommend trying a high quality pie somewhere when you visit.
Wife has made dozens of key lime pies here in Florida....a very refreshing dessert. I'd put a homemade key lime pie (made with real key limes) up against any other pie.
The Pa one is perfect.😁 Try filling the woopie pie with peanut butter icing. I also make pumpkin cake flavored with cream cheese filling at thanksgiving. You can fill the cake cookie with any flavor. Being born in Maine I'll say the blueberry pie is right on as well.
can confirm Key Lime Pie is amazing. Back when I was in MS though I dont think I ever saw a Mississippi Mud pie. most people did blackberry cobbler or lemon meringue pie or pecan pie

Sounds awesome!
Virginia also got screwed w “chess pie” - wha?
I'm from Wyoming, and ice cream is my favorite winter dessert too.
Mochi is actually Original from Japan.
They also always say funeral potatoes for the state dish. That stuff's nasty.🤢
@@aniE1869 Meh, they are OK, but I prefer scalloped potatoes, and my family doesn't do funeral potatoes.
I could be wrong. However, couldn't a desert involving rhubarb also be appropriate? Such as maybe rhubarb crisp.
@@mimikannisto4418I was also thinking this. I've eaten a ton of rhubarb desserts living in Minnesota, also another one would be bread pudding. Every sit-down restaurant I know serves bread pudding.
You are very right! Nothing beats a rhubarb strawberry dessert!!
Michigan here. The fudge here is really good. ❤
One thing missing from the list is bread pudding. That's popular in the South, as far as I know, but we have a lot of good food.
Plain glazed donuts are my fave too, but a close runner up is a cream filled vanilla (icing) long John.
Key Lime is tied as my fave pie with Pumpkin & Blueberry - 3 way tie. So yes, is AMAZING.
I’m from Washington State, I’ve never heard of a Naimo Bar (?) and I’ve never seen one at Starbucks 😂
They struck out for Illinois. Popcorn is not a dessert. Personally, my favorite dessert is peanut butter cheesecake.
I'm from California, and I think of donuts as more of a breakfast food rather than a dessert. I would have picked churro instead
We have lived in nine states. Key Lime Pie is so good! I love all the fruit pies listed. I live in Utah, and can testify that we have many more popular desserts than Jell-O. One of my favorites is Utah Opera Fudge Cake.
Smith Island cake in Maryland is delicious, unfortunately today one of our bridges has collapsed in sn accident in Baltimore its they Key bridge, with casualties 😢
best dessert in florida is key lime pie! just visiting here but it's amazing
My mom worked, so she didn't get to bake homemade as often as my retired elders, but she would do so at least twice a month on weekends. 🙂
Im from Oregon, and i don't know about others but in my whole family marionberry pie is like the best thing we can get as a treat, i have actually sparred with my brother in taekwondo for the last piece, i won
We are lucky in the US in that people from all over the world bring their cooking here when they immigrate. So we get the best in the world. Literally
They said that Delaware was the number one state for producing peaches and forgot that Georgia is literally called “The Peach State.”
Did you not hear them specify that Delaware *WAS* leading producer of peaches in the 19th century. It's the 21st now if you didn't know 😅
Yes and everyone knows California is the number 1 peach producing state now with South Carolina being 2nd
Before Georgia The Peach States used to be New Jersey and Delaware
for someone with a us flag for a pfp bro does not know the history not did they listen
Stephen Colbert has always had a bee in his bonnet about how South Carolina grows more peaches than Georgia, fwiw
From Hawaii and yea shave ice is an after beach treat. Macadamia ice cream with chocolate drizzle is a dessert
** TAM TIPS: When you are viewing one of these super fast videos turn the viewing speed down to .75. This will give you a chance to view everything that is happening while still sounding fairly normal. This works especially well with the disaster and funny videos.
Im from Wisconsin, and I thought it would be the Kringle. Also, peanut butter is great for you.
I'm from California (Bay Area). I've never been a doughnut person. The only kinds I like are the simple old fashioned style donuts with a light glaze sometimes, but after a couple of bites, I just feel sick. 🤢
Also yes, pies are delicious. Pies are probably my favorite kind of dessert. 🥧
From Kentucky, the bourbon ball was a solid choice for our state and there plenty to choose from, though bread pudding with bourbon sauce, jam cake, butter cake, and Derby pie would also have been solid choices.
I live in California and when you said that you now like vanilla doughnuts, made me think of Malasadas that my neighbor from Santa Maria made,
I'm from Washington and my favorite is Shari's s'mores pie.
Lifelong resident of Washington State and no one that I know of in their right mind thinks of Starbucks for dessert. I still don't know what it was they showed. I've never seen it. Id certainly think it should have been apple or cherry pie.
A lot of these desserts are delicious.
Key Lime Pie is amazing
Peach Cobbler is amazing
Beignets are amazing
Blueberry Pie is amazing
Salt Water Taffy is amazing
NY Cheesecake is amazing
Sweet Potato Pie is amazing (some say better than pumpkin)
Whoopie Pies are amazing
Banana Pudding is amazing
Pecan Pie is amazing
Apple Pie is amazing
Jello? ...boring.
Flan is amazing
The people are bigger in Alabama.
Key lime pie is delicious but definitely sweet. Indiana's Sugar cream pie is my favorite but it's really sweet too. Also pecan pie and peanut butter pie and peanut butter buckeyes candy. I could go on and on 😁
Texas here and it’s pecan pie for me, so good.
I pick them every summer. Usually make huckleberry marmalade and at least one pie. If there's any left, they're great on ice cream.😋
@@aniE1869 Have you tried to buy them fresh recently? I haven't seen them in ages.
@@rhiahlMT I haven't seen them sold in years. Except for the products that contain them. The one store that sold them near me went out of business about 6 years ago.
@@aniE1869 Yeah, I saw some at the Helena farmer's market about 10 years ago. Haven't seen them since.
My family came from the Azores and MALASSADAS are popular in states where Azorean Portuguese settled like Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Hawaii.
Wisconsin could just as well be frozen custard or Kringle. In fact, thought it would be custard.
Yeah, America loves pie. As somebody originally from Minnesota I can tell you that rhubarb pie (strawberry rhubarb particularly) is a favorite there.
You should try a peanut butter and banana sandwich. 😉
YES!
Wisconsin here
I'm from Michigan - and that video was my cousin's fudge shop.
Sopaipilla - Delicious
Key lime pie - Delicious
Peach cobbler - Delicious
Beignets - Delicious
Mississippi Mud Pie - Delicious
Salt Water Taffy - Delicious
Cheesecake - Delicious
Fried Pies - Delicious
Banana Pudding - Delicious
Pecan Pie - Delicious
Apple Pie - Delicious
Some favorites from our family are Blackberry Cobbler, Peach Cobbler, Apple Pie, Cherry Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, Strawberry Pie, Cucumber Pie (yes, you read that correct), Pecan Pie, Fried Pies, Banana Pudding, Key Lime Pie, Coconut Cream Pie, Banana Cream Pie & Lemon Meringue Pie...large family, lots of favorites and I've made most of them.
You just witnessed a half a million calories of deliciousness…
Ok ok ok stop bragging 😂
Yes, I've had Key Lime Pie. Its a bit sweet and sour. Not as sour as lemon, but a little more subtle. Its good if you like a sweet/sour dessert.
It’s nutritionally bonkers to make a great little pie and then FRY it.
Im from Pennsylvania and whoopie pies are my favorite 😊
Agree, the basic glazed donut is the best. Second best is the chocolate glazed. What's not to like about pies?
If you love peanut butter you MUST try this!! Peanut butter mixed with maple syrup on toast. DIVINE!!!
The state of Maine is 95% Wilderness and has a beautiful National Park and Cliffs of on the ocean. A lot of Wildlife❤
3:41 key lime pie is definitely one of my favorite pies, next to lemon meringue.
Oklahoma here. Fried pies are really good. The place they showed in the video is really good. Arbuckle mountain fried pies.
Peanut butter isn't bad for you. It has protein and unsaturated fats (the good kind). Just make sure it doesn't have Palm Oil.
I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We call whoopie pies "gobs". The red velvet ones are the best in my opinion.
I'm from Massachusetts! I think the majority of these desserts look really great. Personally, I'm a big fan of various types of cake. I think that you should try some of these! You seem particularly curious about key lime pie and you might like it! I think it's really good! Other favorites of mine are cupcakes, apple pie, and Whoopie pies.
I live in the city of Paris Bourbon county Kentucky bourbon balls are usually only made around Christmas time during family gatherings I like mine without the pecans and a little extra bourbon if you please
I didn't see the peanut butter roll.. Peanut butter log.. Call it what you will . Connections sugar layer of peanut butter then roll it up... Pinwheel style delicious... My son has peanut allergies...I miss my nutty bars
Smith Island cake is INCREDIBLE. One of the restaurants in my town has a cookies and creme variant that's even better, though.
The very first cake is not big, it is normal. It is not for one person. Peanut Butter is healthy, it contains a great source of protein.
Growing up in Arizona we would make fry bread and top with powdered sugar and/ honey. Also, Mexican wedding cookies are another favorite.
@@aniE1869 Lol, that's fair
Ever try apple rhubarb pie?
As a South Carolinian, I can honestly say that banana pudding and pecan pie are much more popular desserts here than coconut cake...at least in The Upstate of South Carolina. (I don't know about other parts.)
