I have seen an F-22 Raptor in person before. The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, has an air show every summer. I went to my uncle's house to watch since he lived fairly close to the EAA. I remember seeing the Raptor fly straight up, performing several barrel rolls, and then just stopping and entering a free fall. Within seconds, it blasted into supersonic speeds and flew over the neighborhood. Truly a sight to behold.

"Lucky" We pay for 75% of them "holding the line with us." Real great allies we've got, they don't even put 2% of their GDP into their defense spending. Which is a requirement to be a member of NATO. but they don't do it, and don't get kicked out or forced to do it. The european members of nato are literally just mooching off the US. Lucky my @ss.
I watched a lecture from a highly decorated and accomplished f-22 raptor. He said it’s harder to fly a Cessna than the f-22 due to the built in intuitive controls, almost like it just knows what you want to accomplish.
Wonderful reaction. A reaction video for the Rockwell B-1B Lancer would be great. One air plane that required pilots of even higher levels of capabilities were the : SR-71 BlackBirds. The SR-71 , The F-35 , The F-22 are just a few of the Air Planes made by the Lockheed-Martin division known as : The Skunkworks. A lot of the requirements for pilots of the SR-71's were even greater then the requirements for F-22 pilots. The engineering and technologies of the SR-71'S allow the newer planes to be as good as they are. Kelly Johnson the head engineer and founder of the " Skunkwork " was the greatest engineer of our century. The Wright Brothers got the aviation ball rolling and Lockheed took it beyond what the Wright Brothers could ever imagine.
The A-10 would never know what happened. It would get shot down without ever seeing where the blow came from. Totally different missions, one is an air superiority fighter, the other is close air support (not designed to fight other aircraft).
@@Shawn-jf2qw Not really, it's not something I can officially confirm which missiles, but US Radar missiles have a bias where they target the cockpit of the aircraft, and the A-10 literally cannot fly where there's manpads because they will easily get shot down, the F-35 can take it out from hundreds of miles away using Radar missiles so... not really?
right, the A10 is intended to fight tanks, missile launchers, radar installations, troops, buildings. It's actually pretty old tech, and has been canceled by the US military, and is being phased out. It's just so effective, that cancellation has been called off several times already. They can theoretically take hits from a tank or a manpad and keep flying. They are truly a flying tank themsevles.
@CrystallineFoxCF I heard that, too. The A-10 is specialized as a ground attack/CAS aircraft. Pitting it against the 22 doesn't show its a weak aircraft, its just a horrible mismatch given their roles.
I served in the United States Air Force for 30 years. I was not an aviator, i.e., pilot or other [rated] aircrew member (I did serve as an unrated aircrew member). One thing I'm certain of is if you've not been in a high performance aircraft, i.e., one with afterburners capable of supersonic speed and high g-force maneuvers, it's simply not possible to comprehend what these aviators do. I'm not a fan of "superhero" characters or movies, because none of them rival the real-life capabilities of our aviators, whether Air Force or Naval (to include the Marine Corps) aviators that fly aircraft like the F-22, F-35, F-15, F/A-18, and F-16. No fictional superhero can rival the amazing men and women who operate these aircraft.
It’s so dangerous because we keep it locked up and don’t let it eat. The kid is practically feral at this point. “I’m not trapped in the sky with you, you’re trapped in the sky with ME!”
There is an amazing video of an F-35b from Miami Beach. They were flying over the surf super slow, then stopped and spun in place, then flew away. They were probably 30m off the water. Wild seeing a fighter jet stop midair. "F - 35 B shocks the crowd over Miami Beach...A Must See" is the title, since i can't link it.
Raytheon is also working on a side firing missile. Meaning an F-35 pilot can select a target to the side, and fire the missile which will immediately do a hard veer and track to the target, rather than the normal fly straight at the target and fire. That's gonna open up a LOT of new tactics in an air to air engagement.
The US Air Force is now upgrading the Raptor fleet to have the same radar, networking, infra red targeting and pilot helmet display with aiming and "look through" the aircraft with 360 degree stitched camera displays. As good as the F-22 WAS it will now be up to the task of sharing data with the more advanced sensor suite of the F-35 fleet.
The pilots of the F22 aren’t even allowed to show our allies the full 100% power of the F22 raptor. we’re that secretive about the jet. I fucking love the F22.
Ok, I saw the Raptor being put through testing in Marietta GA well before it came online. We were driving through Marietta heading south on I-75 and out of nowhere this jet popped straight up right next to my passenger window, filling the entire window as it flew, vertical with its bay doors open… shocked is an understatement!! Didn’t hear it initially but heard it after it disappeared above the interstate… I glanced in my rear view mirror and smiled at other drivers as they saw it and slowed down to watch it fly around! Some people actually pulled over to watch this futuristic platform as it ran through testing… this was early 2000 or so. I knew its base was Marietta so after checking into my hotel, I did a google search and there it was, going through testing right over the interstate as we drove below it. I knew this jet was the future, dam thing is loud and powerful for sure…
The Raptor is designed to destroy airplanes from outside visual range. Meaning the enemy can't even see the Raptor. They get targeted and missiles are inbound and the Raptor has turned and is already gone. There's another video in which a pilot says that if an engagement EVER gets to visual range, something has gone incredibly wrong and the debrief after isn't going to be fun.
The absolute craziest factoid about this aircraft is that it wasn’t even the best aircraft during prototyping. We had a stealthier, faster, smarter jet and went with the Raptor anyway…and we did it 30+ years ago
@@absolutezero6423 the F-22 is an absolutely amazing machine. The YF-23 was better in all but one metric and only just (sustained turn rate at low speeds) lost in that category. The Raptor selection was purely political in my honest opinion. I love the Raptor but I long for what the Black Widow would have been
I saw one live a few weeks ago at an air show. The F-22 completely defied my understanding of physics, it was like watching Star Wars CGI in real life. Also a cool side note, my uncle that works in the Space Force(was in the Air Force for 40 years) was on the design team that did the Afterburners for the Raptor!

The A-10 will never see the Raptor coming along with all other enemy Aircraft. Raptor is supposed to not be seen visually or on radar it's the whole point of being Stealthy.
You should watch “Top 25 Places to Visit in the USA” by Ryan Shirley. He’s easily one of the best travel RUclipsrs. He also did a video on Portugal if you’re interested!
Remember the f-22 is a Fighter mainly air to air fighting and A-10 is a tank buster and good for close in weapon support it helps operators like me or was on the ground! The A-10 is an Attacker. It's like comparing Bombers to Helicopters very different
Yes, I’ve seen the F-22 many times I live in Battle Creek, Michigan every Fourth of July we have an airshow that is top-notch. We have the blue angels or the Thunderbirds regularly, and the F-22 puts on a hell of a show on its own.
I've seen most of America's aircraft in person. The F-22 as well as the B-1, they're amazing to watch even if it is just trainining. Watched an F-15 go vertical as soon as he left the runway and and A-10 do a live-round demanstration on a dummy target. Please react to the B-1, it will impress you!
Many, many countries are trying to build their first 5th gen fighter, yet the USA is already working on their 7th. NGAD, 6th gen is already built, deployed in ~ 2030.
14:40 I'm going to assume you mean "passes out" ("passes away" means "dies", not "faints"). That depends on a few factors; namely, during what kind of manoeuvre did the pilot lose conscience, how high off the ground were they and were there any hostile combatants in a position to take advantage of it? In a best case scenario, the pilot lost conscience pulling massive Gs to right their plane out of a difficult manoeuvre, they were several thousand feet off the ground and there were no surviving hostiles around. In that case, sure; it's entirely possible that the pilot might re-gain conscience (their flight suits are made to help in this situation) with plenty of time to avert a worse disaster. If any of those is compromised (meaning, if the pilot passed out whilst the plane was stalling or pointing at the ground, or at low altitude, or whilst an enemy fighter has them locked), chances drop dramatically, but impossible is nothing, if you're lucky enough. Bear in mind, passing out isn't just a direct consequence of not having a readily available supply of oxygen (although you will want that at all times), but rather the consequence of the pilot's blood not being able to reach their brain, because it's being "flung" towards the pilot's feet, a bit like water drops being spun off leaves of lettuce in a salad spinner.
I'm a fan of airplanes of all kinds. The 22 is a piece of skyward terrifying beauty. It looks sweet, about as sweet as a cobra in danger. I'm also a fan of another channel, Habitual Linecrosser. It's a guy who uses aircraft to talk about some of the politics worldwide. The poor F-22 doesn't get the action that some of the other planes do, it's really so well powered (some would say over-powered) that they don't get to go into combat often. In HL, the 22 usually says "You would intercept me, I would intercept me" like a come-on. It's really pretty fun. I know the aircraft in it. (never got to be next to an F-22, but everything else I have.
@@TonyMontanaDS Yes the F-35 is intended for NATO use and sales, having the F-35, and selling it to allies allows for excellent force integration if NATO countries are called upon to fight a common enemy. Like the incompetent, evil Russian scum.
@@shanethrockmorton5205 All the NATO countries that contributed to it's development. The USA can't just do as it pleases despite what many Americans think.
The F-22 is America only. The government allowed the sale of the newer F-35 stealth fighter but that is nothing compared to the F-22. The F-22 has no actual kills and has not been in an actual dogfight but considering it has a 40-0 K/D in friendly training against the F-15 (which has a real world combat kill rating of 104-0) its a deadly fighter.
IIRC some mad lad in training managed to down a 22 in a 15C. Naturally, the response was "How do we fix the F-22?" and it was part of the arguments for the F-15EX program. Because if an un upgraded plane can pull that off, with some proper updates it'll remain viable for another forty plus years.
My nephew was both a F-15 & an F-22 pilot & instructor pilot. He loved the F-15 because of its speed (Mach 2.5) & manuverability...& the fact that it could carry more ordinance than any other fighter. But after he had been flying the F-22 for awhile, I asked him which jet he preferred now. His eyes widened as he said "Ohh, the F-22!!" I said why? He said bc the avionics are awwwesome!!
And now the upgrade F-15EX is basically packing an Ace Combat sized missile load, with integrated electronics so it can be slinging missiles from a distance to support the stealth fighters.
I’m not saying an f-22 would never get shot down, but essentially you would have to survive a first strike by them, go defensive and close to range. It’s gonna be a tough day where not many of your friends are coming back in a plane if at all
In response to you wondering about the pilot passing out. The F-22, like a few other US fighters, has the Automatic Ground Collision Avoidance System (AGCAS). It will detect pilot loss of consciousness and pull the aircraft up to a safe altitude, until the pilot to regains consciousness.
The F-22 Raptor is one of the sexiest looking jets ever. It is a damned work of art thanks to the requirements of physics. Those sleek curves and lines. Not going to lie, the Su-57 is a hell of a good looking plane as well... but the Raptor manages to look aggressive and mean at the same time.
I have a "close relative" who, over a 30 ➕ year career in the defense industry, has worked on the research & development side of many of the most innovative -- & now taken for granted -- government projects. Helped develop FLIR - forward looking infrared -- technology. Now spoken about openly as it is used by law enforcement searching for people who wouldn't otherwise be visible, etc. Now an older technology. Also worked on targeting systems for AAMRAM missiles. I don't know about current projects & we've never known any specifics. Just makes me proud to be close to someone who has dedicated decades to this work Always praying it won't be needed. Blessings.
8:15 the A-10 would’ve been blown out of the sky before the F-22 was in the same continent. The A-10 can fly about as fast as an Embraer puddle jumper. A-10s aren’t flying into contested airspace looking to dogfight. They’re flying into controlled airspace to drop all of the hate that they can possibly carry onto a ground target. And they do it well.
These aviators (please do not call them pilots) have gone thru special schooling and testing. The investment by the military to train the best of the best is phenomenal. Not only to learn the engineering of these complex planes, all the working parts, the physics of aerodynamics, rules and regulations of flying, call signals with communication and learning the ground signals directing their plane. Now, they have to fly the plane in Top Gun precision and have the calm, unflappable personality with their wits in constant preparation and focus. These are superheroes IMO. They have that certain walk of someone who eludes confidence but with a good sense of humor and acknowledges all the people surrounding him with credit. Love these guys and gals. Proud of our first female aviator of the Blue Angel demo team, Beowolf!
"You need the best minds" Yuuuuuuuuup! Look up the Lockheed Martin Skunkworks. They're the ones who designed the F-22. They're the go to for the US for the best aircraft money can buy. You might be familiar with another plane they made, The SR-71 Black Bird.

I had the amazing privilege to attend an airshow where they had 2x F-16s, 2x, F-35s, and 2x F-22s flying in the air at the same. They were doing a mock dogfight above the crowd.. Let me tell ya, the F-22 has a very unique sound. The F-35 might have been slightly louder, but the F-22 sounded like it was ripping the air apart as it flew by. They also did a Aerial Refueling Demo with the F-22s and a KC-135 Stratotanker.
You should do a video on the AV8B Harrier. I retired from flying them for the USMC in 2018. It has some VERY unique capabilities that you will find super cool..I won't spoil it by telling you here..definitely should check it out..
I'm just starting the video and seeing the jet reminded me of another y.t. channel called Habitual Line Crosser who is an active member of the US military who makes some very funny videos about these planes and countries with eyes and a mouth over them saying stuff about current events. He also has other videos but the short funny ones are what I like best. I put one of his videos on Facebook ONCE and it got taken down so I don't do that for that channel anymore.
The A-10 is specifically engineered to provide low air to ground support of ground soldiers. While the A-10 is an amazing aircraft, it would be greatly out forced in comparison of a F-22 or a F-32. Each provide a different function.
There is nothing any aircraft can do if the pilot passes AWAY. He's dead. However, a pilot will not pass OUT as long as he has his pressure suit on. That is the purpose of the pressure suit.
8:00 That is a tremendously interesting question! The answer, I'm afraid, is a bit less than perfectly straightforward: if an F-22 and an A-10 decide to square off in the skies, the A-10 has basically not a ghost of a chance. The F-22 will lock on to it from way further than the A-10 can hope to detect it, train an AIM-120 on the A-10, and the slow and steady A-10 has little to no chance of escaping it. If, by some fluke of chance, the A-10 started off close enough to the F-22 that radar guided missiles are of no significant advantage, the F-22 still has the upper hand, being able to fly circles around the A-10, and will nail the slower, less agile plane with an AIM-9 missile (the A-10 might be able to shrug off the F-22's gun, but that's not the weapon upon which the F-22 relies). The answer becomes less simple if we consider that the A-10 might meet the F-22 while it's busy doing something else. In that case, if the A-10 happens to be carrying its own AIM-9 missiles (which it can do), it might be able to fire them at the F-22, but expect the F-22 to be able to dodge them. With all that said, in one particular joint training exercise, a less than cautious F-22 haphazardly happened to cross the simulated line of fire of an A-10 that was doing something else unrelated, and, if those planes had been on opposite sides of a war, the A-10 could have demolished the unawares F-22 with a well timed burst of its immense cannon. In fact, that particular A-10 currently sports an F-22 kill badge on its fuselage, for being the only A-10 to have scored a (simulated) kill against an F-22!
8:13 In a real world fight an A-10 would never know a F-22 was hunting it until it showed itself after shooting the A-10 out of the sky and the pilot was under their canopy.
They don't work for the military. They work for private companies who design planes. The companies send designs to the military and the military will chose which company to go with.
The F22 is a mach 2 capable plane with the radar cross section of a bumblebee, that was designed for the sole purpose of killing other jets and planes. The A-10 warthog is a flying gun with a titanium bathtub for the "stick operator" to sit in that was designed for the sole purpose of killing soviet tanks around 50 years ago and it is still the best ground support aircraft i can think of. Different tools for different jobs
Yes Andre you are correct The F-22 raptor is exclusive to us here in the United States we do not sell that plane we do sell other planes just not our best
Yes, the F-22 would smoke the A-10. That said, the aircraft are for very different missions. As the video mentioned, the F-22's primary mission is Air to Air combat from beyond visual range. The A-10 is a Close Air Support platform. The A-10 is designed to support Ground Units and turn enemy armor into scrap. Ideally the F-22 would be supporting the A-10 by eliminating Air to Air threats for it.
You came up with this amazing recipe. You give it to your friend. The next thing you know it's all over the world. So why would we sell this plane? William s
It's funny, I have already watched most of Sam's videos. Same with Peter Santinello so it's cool to see you react to both their channels. You should do some on Manny Koshbin. Especially on his property, the Palazzo.
A-10 also exclusive, and some would agree more aggressive than the F-22. Air superiority must be established first, but it mows down everything with extreme prejudice once it has that open space to operate.

Also I requested DuPont to make a special film to x-ray them for quality control with my specifications. Yep, did that ! My "creation" was published in the American Society for NDT and my picture in the DuPont brochures.
Funny thing is because the A10 is a much slower plane it actually presents the Raptor with challenges that faster planes can't. The Raptor still wins but not as easily as some of the more modern planes. Now that is assuming an actual dogfight, which in the real world would never happen because the A10 would be blow apart before ever knowing the Raptor was there

Which is a requirement to be a member of NATO. but they don't do it, and don't get kicked out or forced to do it. The european members of nato are literally just mooching off the US. Lucky my @ss.
Yes we are
I watched a lecture from a highly decorated and accomplished f-22 raptor. He said it’s harder to fly a Cessna than the f-22 due to the built in intuitive controls, almost like it just knows what you want to accomplish.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL AIRCRAFT!IT WOULD BE A PRIVILEGE TO FLY ONE!
Yeah, the A-10 I think only has one Air to Air kill, and I think it was a helicopter it gunned down
Sure but the the A-10 would get hit get a wing chopped off get an engine out and still be able to fly back to base.
I'll never forget seeing an F22 at a local Air Show and when the jet would fly by, you could feel it in your chest. Absolutely incredible machine.
Well written.
I love how they show how fast they are!

"F - 35 B shocks the crowd over Miami Beach...A Must See" is the title, since i can't link it.
the f35b is a vtol aircraft, so it should be able to almost hover, it cant do that and fight though.
i looked it up - that's so cool! Thank you for the recommendation!
@@toyfischer Why on earth would you want a massive stealth fighter to sit in place to fight, losing all advantages of being a stealth fighter?
Have you seen the video of a F-22 chasing the SpaceX rocket in a vertical climb?
Raytheon is also working on a side firing missile. Meaning an F-35 pilot can select a target to the side, and fire the missile which will immediately do a hard veer and track to the target, rather than the normal fly straight at the target and fire. That's gonna open up a LOT of new tactics in an air to air engagement.
$16.8 billion was just spent to upgrade 148 F-22's.
This is a bridge gap till the 6th gen fighters start rolling out around 2030.
I wish they picked the YF-23 instead but the F-22 is also a exceptional fighter.
Feel free to hit the like button and subscribe for more content. I would also love to hear your suggestions for future reactions-drop them in the comments below!🙏
Have you seen the video of the F-22 chasing a SpaceX rocket in a vertical climb?
Yes, this is arguably The Most Beautiful Aircraft In The World. Period. Full Stop. AND it capabilities are without peer.
It's refreshing to have allies react to our military with admiration, knowing we stand for global freedom.
I too am a HLC fan. The kid never gets to eat.
The US has a law against selling the F-22
We should have a law against selling the F-35 too
@@maxjaeger40 The F-35 is funded by several countries, so no, you can't have a law against that when you asked them for money already.
@@TonyMontanaDS Yes the F-35 is intended for NATO use and sales, having the F-35, and selling it to allies allows for excellent force integration if NATO countries are called upon to fight a common enemy. Like the incompetent, evil Russian scum.

I love the A-10 as well, but this kills the A-10 before it even see's it.
Well, the A-10 isn't supposed to fight other aircraft in the sky. It's how things should be.
@@Sorain1 Oh I know I was just commenting on what was said in the video about the A-10.
New sub when I saw how much love you gave our beautiful Raptors
I have a "close relative" who, over a 30 ➕ year career in the defense industry, has worked on the research & development side of many of the most innovative -- & now taken for granted -- government projects.
Helped develop FLIR - forward looking infrared -- technology.
Now spoken about openly as it is used by law enforcement searching for people who wouldn't otherwise be visible, etc.
Now an older technology.
Also worked on targeting systems for AAMRAM missiles.
I don't know about current projects & we've never known any specifics.
Just makes me proud to be close to someone who has dedicated decades to this work
Always praying it won't be needed.
Blessings.
and what have you done?
The A-10 wouldn't even know it's in a fight until it heard that someone has missile lock
Why shouldn’t people that fly the planes be called pilots?
I saw one and took video of a F-22 raptor shoot down a Chinese spy balloon over Murrells Inlet South Carolina.
Come on Andre can we agree that the F-22 raptor is the most beautiful plane in the air
Love the Raptors See them everytime at Langley Air Force in Hampton Va
just look up the f22 demo teams schedule you can see everywhere they perform. i saw them in St. louis like two weeks ago
"You need the best minds" Yuuuuuuuuup! Look up the Lockheed Martin Skunkworks. They're the ones who designed the F-22. They're the go to for the US for the best aircraft money can buy. You might be familiar with another plane they made, The SR-71 Black Bird.
this is by far my 2nd favorite jet fighter...
I saw this plane fly at an air show a couple years ago.
Seen this jet fly their demo several times. Absolutely the best air show performance.
Once a fighter once a Attack. You mean the A 10 thunderbolt 2. It would get blowed out of the sky. 1aF. 1aA. Big difference. William s

Haven't flown but still my fav fighter jet
According to Google the F-22 Raptor cost $350 million to produce! A total of $65 Billion mass production
You should do a video on the AV8B Harrier. I retired from flying them for the USMC in 2018. It has some VERY unique capabilities that you will find super cool..I won't spoil it by telling you here..definitely should check it out..
Best of the best of the best, sir, with honors.
You should check out the recent upgrades they made to it to better perform in the Pacific theater
I LOVE PLANES!!!!
The 22 is a beast
The R-22 is the airplane that will protect the A-10 while it takes care of the ground troops.
The A10 would never see it's death coming.
The A-10 did beat a F-22 in a dogfight exercise once. The scenario put the F-22 in a worse possible situation with an A-10 having the advantage.
The A-10 was designed to be a tank killer and operated in skies we control. It is no way shape or form a dog fighter.
True, but it actually has a few confirmed air to air kills which is wild lmao
William s
Going into work on Monday after weekend drills. What did you do this weekend? Ahhh just flew the f22. Badass

Captain has the callsign "Watt", makes me think that he electrocuted himself in early training.
B1 ... I have never seen one but my husband has, he worked for 30 years building parts for this and many other aircraft, he was certified for government contracted work.

We see them on the ground at air shows and watch them fly.
Russia has their version called Su57, it can reach mach 2 or just over 1500 mph.
Fun fact: The A-10s so agile it can out turn everything including the F-22.
CAS demands ludacris maneuverability at lower speeds, because you need to turn to get guns on target.
Sam Eckholm is underrated, surprised more channels dont react to his content. he is much better than those AI voiceover channels.
I worked for, Raytheon, Tampa and Pratt & Whitney, West Palm Beach and General Electric Dayton, OH. I was a Quality Control Inspector and an industrial Radiography. Of all, General Electric was the better one. I engineered a new way to make the rings that whole the jet engine together for P&W. I wish I can upload pictures.
Now that is assuming an actual dogfight, which in the real world would never happen because the A10 would be blow apart before ever knowing the Raptor was there
The f22 is incredible but there is better. The f22 was designed in the 90s. I can’t imagine the top secret stuff they can’t declassify but is in the air now
The question you asked about if they pass away. The people that they got in those airplanes are of the upmost health meaning that’s not gonna happen.
The A10 is for ground support not air superiority so yes it would be one sided engagement, in fact A10 most likely wouldn't see it coming
Yes do the B1 next
Do the B1-B Lancer! You won't be disappointed!
