I was diagnosed with diabetes in 2019. Through prayer God led me to a plant based diet. Within 8 months I had loss over 30 pounds and my med was cut in half. At 12 months my tests results showed I'm no longer diabetic.💃 I was taken off medication! Sweet Lord!🙂

So the fruit sugars were not a problem for you? I'm hovering in pre-diabetic land and I really, really want to avoid full blown diabetes. I've moved toward a more plant-based diet recently and feel like it might be a good path, but anytime I pop a piece of pineapple or crunch into an apple I worry that I'm shooting myself in the foot...

@@angelafrench1226 Go on RUclips and watch Dr. Michael Greger's videos...that's where the Lord led me to start my journey to reverse the diabetes. I went from diabetic to prediabetic and then normal range. I did go with the no oils, dairy, etc strict plant base at first. However my blood sugar never spiked when I are fruit so I kept it in my diet...also I did no sugar, sugar...just agave nectar. I can't do stevia and honey or I would them.
My plant base includes small amounts of meat...usually not beef. I aim at two meat free meals a day and my meal with meat is usually way smaller than a deck of cards.🙂 Angela, I wish you great health!🙂

I haven't had issue with diabetes, but grew up with heavy sugar consumption. I tried replacing most of my sugar consumption with whole medjool dates which never gave me negative feelings sugary things would, despite the high sugar content in dates. They helped me greatly with dealing with craving/changing to plant based foods and now have a 2Lb tub of date seeds from it lol. I dont eat them anywhere near as often now, but they really helped with a transition from a soon-to-be-diabetic diet to purely eating plants.

@@angelafrench1226 You definitely want to start making oatmeal in the morning. Buy a big organic bag for the best value. They're known for regulating blood sugar. Also, eat more barley and avoid too much white rice, bread and processed sugary foods (obviously). I hope that helps but dr. Colin Campbell, Dr. Dean Ornish, and Dr. John McDougall, we’ve got hard science backing the fact that majority of western diseases can be prevented and even reversed with Whole Food Plant Based nutrition. If you are on painkillers and anti-depressants and things, I want you to read what I wrote today in another comment. You have so much pain, but still your body doesn't get a chance to heal by help of its own system. Some of your pain could/might be from side-effects from the medicines. Consider abstinence between pills! Read and inform yourself.
There probably is tissue-damage behind part of your pain, and part of the pain can be from your nerves and brain. Bone is renewed more slowly than softer body-parts. The cells of the whole body, teeth and all, are replaced within 7 years. Let that give you hope. Eat healthy plant-based whole food so there are building elements to use. Exercise, but very, very moderately, stretch and relax, tighten and relax, softly, very moderately to help with fibromyalgia and insomnia. Some programs for beginners are too heavy for you, so listen to your body.
When your inner wisdom whispers kind suggestions to you, try them ... give yourself and your body lots of time to heal.
I send you heaps cheering and support from, it is from somebody who has struggled, too, and is struggling with almost the same things - I don't have depression (anymore, it was very long ago) and not arthritis, but high blood pressure and tendonitis and what not (can't even take a walk right now), hernia and osteoprosis, but am determined to get into better shape. I have stressed too much, and been careless against better knowledge, but enough is enough, and from now on I am my own measure, and others may think whatever they want about my limits. I will stubbornly listen to my body and soul, for not even those who wish me the best, know how sensitively I function. We are not all the same. It's OK.

Please please 🙏 do more videos as u literally have saved me once. I’m also on a huge script & my o2 levels constantly go into the 60% range which I should go into resus but if I did that I would never be out of hospital. Your videos have helped immensely & please please 🙏 do as much as u can. Again I can’t thank you enough Mark, Bourneville, Birmingham 😊

A whole foods plant based diet is SOOOOO good for you. Take a look at the centenarians that live in the blue zones, all 5 areas have a diet based in plants with meat being very minimal, like special occasions, one of them is completely vegetarian. My family has benefited from pbwf for over a decade, it's a lifestyle for us now!

I've been a vegetarian practically all my life. My father was a butcher so I felt nauseated around meat. But I was an overweight junk food vegetarian. In 2020 due to the pandemic I adopted a whole food plant based diet and in 6 months I lost all the extra weight I had. Now I have a normal body weight. I'm thin but not as skinny as I would like to be. I wish I could lose another 5 kilos or so. I'm working on it. You keep up the good work and I hope you recover soon from all your ailments.

😭Doctors have destroyed my life. Being thought to respect Authority and doctors and do exactly what they tell me to do has lead to the same downfalls that you have and it's sad that it takes us turning 30-plus and them saying they give up on us for us to realize that we have to take matters into our own hands and just go back to basics! I just switched to a plant based diet about two weeks ago because I was sick of being on meds for my asthma. Though I'm not off the med completely, I only have to use my control med once a day instead of twice! The days I slipped up and ate more items with dairy in it, the worse my asthma was! I was blown away by how much it has helped my asthma!

I suffered from the same thing and when I went WFPB things changed dramatically but I still suffered from acid reflux from time to time (sweet peppers at night are one of the culprits) . I've been on a "restricted" diet for a few months advised by my nutritionist and I'm taking several supplements to build up my stomach and I don't experience reflux anymore. I can only eat white fish and cooked vegetables and absolutely nothing processed because it's easier on the digestive system. The chronic acid reflux was as a result of taking opremazole for my stomach when I had acid reflux in the first place. Now I have low acid and I am in the process of correcting it. Now I can eat peppers at night so it's a step in the right direction 😀

Man I am so happy for you. You look, sound and radiate so much more and it is from the heart. Well done mate. Been there, done that, read the book, got the T-shirt, washed it, sent it back, taped over the video and downloaded the app! Six years ago I was four stone overweight, type 2 diabetic with eye complications, high blood pressure, arthritic pain in lower joints, muscle pain. Now I am normal weight, totally off all medication with all signs normal. Still have some arthritic pain in right foot but I suspect that is due to a teenage injury. Just like you the medical profession did not want to know. Just like you I felt I had a life back. Just like you it was hard but so worth it. Just like you I'm a whizz in the kitchen making healthy meals. I moved from being junk food vegan to vegan wholefood plant based. AND... ...THANKS TO YOU I am now growing a massive amount of home grown vegetables in my back garden (hardly no lawn left). Even using the roof of my porch as a growing area. This will cut down the amount of residual pesticides, growth inhibitors, emulsifiers, preservatives, additives and other treatments and chemicals used in the food industry. I have learnt to much watching your videos and I am so happy to see you improve and even thrive. Onwards and upwards my friend and enjoy your journey.
