Pretty much any scrap pieces of flat material would work as long as it's not too heavy. I think the panels would work like a charm for this and would look really neat in the process.
I used a tablesaw, with an 80 tooth crosscut blade. Cut slowly, with the blade only about 1/8" above the acrylic. The blades are 2" wide, with the length dependent upon your wheel size. Yes, the hardware is stainless.
@@LarryCook1960 Since I don't have a table saw would and oscillating saw work ? Also how long was your blades on the wheel in the video ? I know your Eyelet is 1/4 " but how long is it ? Also what is the thickness of your blades on the wheel is it 1/8 th ?
@@gregoryp9217 My blades are 1/8" thick, and 10.5" long, but since there are several wheel diameters that really depends upon which one you have. By oscillating saw, if you mean a Sawzall, it would destroy the acrylic. If you mean a saber saw . . . . . perhaps a brand new blade meant for plywood wouldn't chip the acrylic too much. www.acmeplastics.com/content/how-should-i-cut-acrylic-plastic/
@@LarryCook1960 where would be the cheapest place to buy that Plexiglas ? How much do you think you have in cost between the stainless steel eye bolts ,washers , nuts and Plexiglas ? The rims I think I can pick up for $15.00
I made one with foil tape and thought it was kind of tacky and I could do better. Thanks for showing the proper way.
Well done, I like it
Looks great!
great idea, seems to work very well.
Could you show how you put it together? I’m not mechanically inclined and am a visual learner. Especially the eye bolt and notched part.
Muito bacana gostei 👏👏👏👏
Obrigado senhor 😊

Where did you pick up the plastic? I would also think reusing old aluminum panels off window shutters would work too.
Possibly tapplastics.com. It's easy to find online in various colors. Sure, scrap aluminum would work fine.

I held on to some old aluminum Street signs and also some thin material of awning slats. I knew I kept them for a reason!
Looks great and a very good idea. Do you connect the center by the hub? I noticed you have a hole there. Thanks for sharing with us. Albert in Texas.
I was going to use those holes to wire tie the blades to a spoke, but they weren't needed.
Why did you call it "neighbor annoyer" ? I like it. I love seeing wind art in my neighborhood.
I'm mainly thinking of one particular neighbor 😉
@@LarryCook1960 hahaha if that person doesn't find joy from kinetic art, I feel sorry for them!
Cool
What did you use to cut the Plexiglas and how long and how wide are your blades ? And did you use Stainless steel Eye bolts and washers ?
