This will be my 6th sober new year, after years of alcohol abuse. I will wake up new years day with a clear head and take the dogs for a walk on the beach, and feel truly blessed im still here stay strong everyone one day at a time god bless.
Great stuff, gave up the booze 6 months ago, was a pretty heavy drinker as you can see from my old videos, was mulling the idea of having a drink tonight for New Year but just writing down a list of the pros and cons makes it clear as day that it is a terrible idea and now i'm determined to stay off it into 2025. Watching this video also helped confirm my decision, thanks Steven! Keep up the great content and all the best into 2025!
Thanks Steven, been sober for Christmas now and dreading tomorrow. You made great points. First sober new year coming up. Looking forward to waking up with my toddler and making it a great start of the year
I failed too many times to count. As they say in the song, "Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again." It may seem to you that I am unnecessarily cruel, but you can do it.
Thankyou Steven . This will be my 2nd festive season nearly 2 years alcohol free at 62 sorry i did not do this 30 years ago . Yes alcohol free wines and beers have been more than a big help . Now i am walking on the other side of the road . Looking forward to tonight and the new year . Best.
Happy new year to you! Coming up to two months sobriety here, one of the best decisions I made in my life. My next best decision - stopping smoking - is coming up to fourteen years this month. Stay sober friends, a single glas would be already too much for most of us.
Stick with it, it will slowly get better. In two or three month's time you'll be having the kind of sleep that you'd forgotten even existed - straight through the night and feeling completely refreshed in the morning and looking forward to the day ahead.
Hello Steven, i just found your channel this past month. Thanks for the positive inspiration. Im now having my "last drink" @ 6am NYE. Once again i plan on a sober year, the first since i was a child basically. I want to try to salvage something of the life i have left. Im subscribed. Happy new year and very best wishes!
Gud luck everyone , i was a chronic binge drinker , my last binge started on a new years eve and lasted til jan 5th when i finaly said thats it..16 sober years this jan , to anyone struglin keep battling..u wil win.
Good luck to everyone trying to either cut down or ditch alcohol altogether. I was never an heavy drinker but alcohol caused problems in my relationship due to its effects. If I was in company and the mood was pleasant I joined in. If the mood was aggressive I joined in. Something had to give and I realised I loved my girlfriend of 13 years more than alcohol. I couldn’t have both. I gave up 15 months ago and I can’t believe how healthy and contented I feel. Go for it Happy New Year
I did a couple of dry January’s and then one New Year’s Eve made a resolution to give up completely. It was one of the best decisions I’ve made and haven’t had a drink for 8 years. Like you, I drink non alcoholic beer and some of them are very good. Happy New Year 👍
Just wanted to say thanks for all the effort you put into your channel. I watch your videos every day and they help remind me daily that alcohol really isn't worth it. I had my first sober Christmas in years thanks to you and plan on being sober for new years too. You are a very relatable and likable person, so please keep the vids coming as I'm sure they help many others out. I must add that i'm not 100% sober just yet, but I've cut down from binge drinking from once a week, to having a maximum 2-3 drinks just one day a month, since September. I would eventually like to kick it for good but I'm struggling a bit with the events with the lads where most of the guys are big drinkers - unfortunately avoiding these events is my only defense at the moment, as I still feel that I can't say no on those occasions just yet. I have however done more and more different types of events sober and I am gaining more confidence that I don't need the booze to have fun. Just need to work on a plan to cut out that one day a month now. Happy new year to you and your family, and thanks again for everything! 🙏🙌
Happy new steve. Happy new year everyone on this channel . I know some people will be struggling (just like I did and still do sometimes) particularly at this time of year as everything seems to revolve around alcohol when your trying to quit . Stay strong and keep focused and remember we are all friends here and I for one will be here if anyone needs to chat
I cant stress enough how good life is without the booze. Its like getting a second chance and im determined not to screw it up. So cut down the booze folks, taper it off, see your doctor for advice or medication and start living again. So to anybody struggling at the moment ,good luck and god bless you ❤

Hi mate thanks for you reply. My problem is that I'm a binge drinker. Most Saturdays are spent getting absolutely hammered, then suffering for 3 days afterwards. Currently at an alcohol counselling group. Wanting to go T total. It's just mad how normalised it is and everything we do in life alcohol seems to somehow be involved!
Steve . . . There is more to life than living alcohol-free if that means making RUclips videos alone in the dark. Show us you are having fun as well. I love your videos btw. Show us all we can still have fun when we stop drinking.

I've not long got back from Tenerife after six weeks where drink is easy to come by,but been chatting with someone named Victoria who lives in New York and spoken on the phone many times and on facetime and we decided just to meet up in Tenerife this Christmas because life's to short,so we did and when you meet someone in person for the first time its a bit nerve racking which it was for both of us,but everything went fine and then she told me on one evening out which she had never told me before, because she was so embarrassed to say, that her dad was alcoholic and destroyed her life and her mom's whilst i was sat there with a pint in my hand,so i walked down the steps to the road and poured that pint away and not had a alcoholic drink since, because i don't want her to go through the same again with me being alcoholic or was but not anymore.and it's 💯 true you feel a lot better for it and proud in away 👍
