This is my cover of Fade to Black by Metallica. This song is without a doubt one of the classics that Metallica has put out, later spawning songs such as One and The Day That Never Comes. The intro solo could be one of the most recognized solos of all time!
Guitars were recorded a 1/4 step up.

We played this song at my girlfriends funeral. Lost her in a car accident... I miss her for every minute that passes by every day. This was the ONLY ”metal” song she ever listened to and really liked.

when you mean 1/4 up its like E# right ? at the first notch in the tuner right ? i am kinda new
E# would be a 1/2 step up, so a 1/4 step up is right in between the two. It's tough to tune to with some tuners, so you mostly just have to use your ear!

This is a carbon copy of the song, not a cover. Put some of yourself in it, don't just copy exactly what they wrote!

What I mean is that if you want a carbon copy of the song, you might as well listen to the original, it's much better.
What's interesting about a cover is what the person who does it brings to it and that changes, hopefully positively, the song. It doesn't have to be much, maybe a slight variation to a riff, maybe a different bend during a solo, maybe even a whole different solo, but replaying the same song is not that interesting.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that it's a bad video, but it's just that it could be unique when it's not.

All of the songs on Ride The Lightning were recorded a 1/4 step up, for some reason. I just stuck with the album tuning.

I used an effects pedal and had my distortion and clean sounds prepared, so I just switched between the two sounds using a footswitch! :)

Usually the learning/practicing for a song can take up to a month, and then recording a part can be anywhere from one take to over a hundred :p

You would either need a distortion pedal or a footswitch that would allow you to switch between settings on your amplifier.
