TIP: Watch what you say about yourself TO yourself-- Instead of saying “ I suck at math”, you can say “I’m working on getting better in math” . Or instead of saying “ugh I have anger issues”, you can try saying “ I’m getting better at managing my temper”... You’re not lying, you’re just speaking towards your goals. Simple swaps like that make you feel better about yourself overall. Great job Stamps!

That's how I took it, but honestly ... I kinda liked it that way?? I'd rather have someone close to me bluntly tell me I'm a five (with kindness and good intent of course) so that I could be aware of what I actually have and learn to make the most of it, rather than always feel dysmorphic and confused, pretending I'm an eight or nine when I'm actually not and no one has the guts to tell me. There's a beauty in accepting yourself as you are and making the most of what you do have. And in the end, the confidence fills in the gap of those missing higher numbers. Better a five than a zero!

Not caring about other people's opinions is so important to your own happiness. It took me almost 28 years to realize this. So much respect for people who learned this early on in life.
I think most people arent truly confident in who they are. They are sharing an image with the public due to the fear of not being accepted by their peers, family , etc. With that said I dont think youre old at all to be truly deepy confident in who you are . Most folks go the grave not discovering who they were "meant" to be.
This is so difficult to achieve.

I'm glad you liked this one! I fired my managers and I'm doing less ads, but the ads I do pick actually relate to this channel theme. I've had a good experience with Better Help so far. I had to change therapists bc the first guy seemed like he had somewhere better to be lmao. My new lady is great.

Truth. Everyone has problems, life is just trading one set of problems for another set of problems. No one has it perfect.
Dusty-Needy symptom is a real thing btw, trust me, I’m a neurobiologist.
It took me a whole to shift the neural patterns in my brain to be more confident and avoid DUSTY NEEDY syndrome.

Both said 10 without hesitation and people laughed but that’s the kind of energy we need more of (not in the narcissistic way tho)

My overall point is more along the lines of “confidence partially stems from identity.” If you identify as a confident person, it becomes easier to act like one. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
When you're successful and don't need to take shit from anyone, you can get away with calling yourself a 10. Ordinary people have to be more careful because of how others will perceive them, and how that will affect them. This is why I avoid comparison with celebrities. They're being gauged differently.

A 10 is always subjective, so I don’t think ordinary people exist-just people who believe themselves to be.

Was skinny my whole life...finally came into my own and started truly loving my body and dressing in a way that flattered my shape, I even updated my wardrobe to suit...then God was like 'bish you thought!'...and gave me 20+ pounds extra...now I gotta learn to dress and appreciate my new body.

I'm 40 years old and I've spent my entire life hating myself. Absolutely loathing my own existence. Up until about 2 years ago. When I decided shit needed to change. I'm a work in progress and it takes constant daily sometimes HOURLY work on myself. Reminding myself that I'm good. And that I'm enough and that I deserve kindness and love. Quarantine/the lockdown did wonders for my self-esteem. I discovered that once removed from the influence of the a-holes that were around me, my confidence grew. I guess social seclusion is my jam. Or I just needed to learn how to be unbothered by others.

I think what I don’t like about “fake it till you make it” is the whole idea of “faking it”. I just didn’t like the idea of faking anything or feel like I’m lying or hiding lack of competence - it feels gross/entitled to me. What worked for me was actually just accepting that I’m not “there” yet but I’m working on it and doing what I have to do to get there so just put in the work - and recognize that EVERYBODY STARTS SOMEWHERE. I became confident in being an amateur rather than feeling under-confident that I wasn’t an expert yet.

One thing that really helped me with my confidence is the fact that I forget every thing embarrassing the people around me have done(unless it's someone really close to me,and even then they would have to remind me), but I always end up remembering my embarrassing moments.
And that's the thing, you're not the center of the world, and literally NO ONE CARES!
And that's why now I rarely consider anything I do cringy or awkward because then you're just bullying yourself for nothing! And I swear owning up to everything you do good or bad is the best way to earn people's respect .I could talk more about this but this comment would be waaaay too long. But trust me, I've come a long way from someone who could barely talk to new people to now being able to have a full on conversation with an audience of 600+ people.
