How do you cut tapers on 4 sides? I assume you have to double the taper; when cutting the opposite side that's already cut. Is that how it's done?
This taper jig is awesome and I am hoping I can buy one. Another "Tip of the Hat" for those at Woodpeckers; who design and build this and other "gems".

Pat, you're exactly right. Cut first two sides at the desired taper, then adjust to double that amount and cut the remaining two sides.
Now...that technique only applies if you are referencing off the tapered section of the leg...which is most of the time. Some designs have a long square section with a short taper at the end. In those cases you most likely will be referencing off the square section for all four cuts, so the angle would be constant on all sides.

Is there anything preventing me from using store-bought MDF if the sled needs to be replaced?

That's a great idea. The ones we sell are a convenience.
