    ABOUT US
    Welcome to Grand Adventure, a RUclips channel that focuses on RV-centric outdoor activities including not only of course camping, but also mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing and more, nearly always filmed in stunning 4K.
    We're based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and invite you to come along as we travel all around the western U.S. My wife Patricia and I, and our dogs Zoe and Maggie are avid boondockers, so you'll seldom find us in RV parks or even dry campgrounds. Instead, we're usually camped in some of the most remote and beautiful spots that you could ever pull a travel trailer into. And unlike most other RV channels on RUclips, we're not RV dealers or full-timers -- we're weekend warriors just like you!
    We'll provide tips and insight on equipping and maintaining your RV, trip planning and travel videos to make your next adventure a grand one indeed! So, subscribe to make sure that you catch every episode, and remember...life is nothing but a Grand Adventure!

    I realize that many of your videos are a "whet your appetite" type of production, but the Black Hills, for being such a small area, has so much to see and do. I spent the six days before the eclipse last August touring the area while staying camped in Spearfish. Other areas deserving of mention are Wind Cave NP and Jewell Cave National Monument, Hot Springs, Spearfish and its historic National Fish Hatchery (there would be no fishing in the Black Hills had it not been founded) and the Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway, one of the most beautiful drives in the entire Black Hills. There are dozens of museums in the area, ranging from the CCC museum and the SD State Railway museum, both at Hill City, to the Journey at Rapid City and the Mammoth Site at Hot Springs. I will return to see all of the things I missed the first time around.

      CharlesinGA absolutely! I had to be in Western Montana 10 days later and wanted to see the Badlands, too, so my time was admittedly limited.

    Just a route tip.... if you go to Rushmore from Needels then along the Iron hy you get an amazing peak of Rushmore every time you go through one of the many tunnels in between the "pig tail" bridge. Absolutely beautiful area. Job well done👍

      Rowdy One glad this helps! Right now we're on Flathead Lake just South of Glacier. The channel is ~2 weeks behind our travels, so in coming weeks you'll see episodes that will largely mirror your travel plans. I also know your area well as my parents were both from the Lehigh Valley area and I still have family back there, so I know those Amish love to party! It's a gorgeous area.

    Excellent job with filming, and the dialog. I am a local, and live in Lead, (which is pronounced Leed). It was named after the gold lead that eventually turned into the Homestake mine.

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  6 лет назад +1

      Thank you Jamey! Guess I botched that pronunciation, but thanks for the cool backstory on it! I mistakenly assumed it was named after the metal, like Leadville in Colorado. You live in a beautiful place.

    Black Hills or Badlands... If you had to choose one, which would you choose? It looks like we could spend a few weeks in the Black Hills and not get bored with all you’ve shown here!

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  5 лет назад +1

      There's definitely more to see in the Black Hills, but frankly I preferred the Badlands. The Black Hills, beautiful as they are, are pretty kitschy. If you're familiar with the Poconos of eastern Pennsylvania they reminded me of that area -- tons of billboards, zipline attractions, t-shirt and taffy shops...you get the picture.

    Hey Marc, Thanks for another great video! Headed to Custer in our Super-C, leaving AZ in a week or two. Cannot wait! I never realized there was sooooo much to see there. We were planning on heading sw through Yellowstone after a week in the Custer area, but thinking twice now. Might just stay in the area. How does one get to Custer State Park in a larger rig with 16A being so limited by tunnels?

    • @GrandAdventure

      Thanks Mark! Have a wonderful time on your trip. For your visit to Custer I'd more recommend this episode: ruclips.net/video/c0UC3_3jPU8/видео.html

The State Game Lodge at the south end of Iron Mtn. Road has an interesting Presidential history. You even made it to the Buffalo roundup, something most South Dakotans have yet to see.
