wait, if this one did not come with a windows key, how can you disable something that doesn’t exist but is active even though it is not physically there
"The Windows key is your worst enemy!" How can any sane human claim something equivalent to "You are better off with one/two less key(s) on your keyboard" considering that every single key can be remapped and repurposed.
how can any sane human being access all the shortcuts? windows r, windows x, windows l, windows d, has dixie never actually used a keyboard shortcut? i have the shut down or sign out keys memorized for fast use, and they want to remove the buttons that do it? absurd.
Draw a Pretzel every button is programmable. You can just program the bottom left key to it. This board comes with control / command in the caps lock position and puts caps lock on a layer. So you’re not actually losing a key. A huge advantage of the blockers is to be able to find the arrows easily without looking down. If you find the blocker with your finger, you’ve found the arrows. :)
@@omnitype_official personally I use all Alt, Ctrl, and Windows almost equally. Removing one is a no go for me. I'm pretty sure it What you can do (like quite a lot of manufacturers are doing nowaday) is to add a way to disable it during games, not to remove it entirely. You can enable this functionality through one of the programmable key you have, can't you :-D.
Yeah I use the windows key *every day*. Get out of here with that bullshit, especially since you could just add a way to disable it. Hell you could probably disable it with some hacks if you care that much about not using it on any keyboard you own.
I got myself the keyboard from DROP (alimunium frame) and that thing is insanely heavy compared to my last one (probably like they said). First thought that came out of my mouth when I opened the box and lifted it.

@Xendrian YZ I never hit mine by accident but I do have the caps lock key disabled for that reason, definitely wouldn't buy a keyboard without a Windows key, I use it to much.
mans treating the act of lubing switches like its some sort of mystical act that no one but the most sacred keyboard cultists that have sworn their life to keyboards do. like bro i have a 50 dollar keyboard that i lubed myself it took like an hour and a half. the lube is also extremely cheap
It's how i open up the start menu when I'm at work, but every single keyboard I've ever used at home has that key popped off. I guess I just do more varied tasks at work, where at home I'm browsing the web, playing games, and anything else has a quick icon already on my desktop ready to go.
silly way to judge a keyboard. If it doesnt move during operation then its heavy enough. Plus people move it a lot for comfort.. thousands of micro adjustments for no obvious reason. Linus should do a video on peoples keyboard\mouse positions and hand positions on keyboard mouses. How big a variance there is between players skill and his hand positions on the devices.
@@SbDarkRobiglo Really? I must have not paid attention but if they really wanted to go for "most expensive keyboard" they really should have used Zealios V2s or maybe even find an Alps PCB and did an Alps SKCM build. THEN it would have been really expensive lol
I'll give you a sneak peak into the real end of this hobby. Saber TKL is roughly $4000 flat. No keycaps, stabs, or switches included. My current most expensive board I've bought is in production. Board is $1335 with $200 in keycaps, $85 + $500+ in artisans, $500-$600 work to patina the back weight post production, $70 - $100 for stabs, and however much extra for other stuff. Sure the board in this video is around the endgame price most boards reach, but the real endgame for some is personalized commissions from top designers. What they don't tell you is that some of the best designers hide behind private/semi private walls which you need to find a way through to access their services. In some cases, it takes knowing the right person. If you wanna go this route, I wish you best of luck finding a designer who caters to your wishes and proposals.
"The windows key is your worst enemy". It sounds the developer have issues with it and assumed the whole world has the same issues. Its an issues issue issue.
Yeah, like switching keyboards every month and consequently never actually learning the key positions... or having some very weird-ass way to press the alt key. I mean, my palm is usually roughly just above it... so maybe he wants to push it with part of his palm? Also f him, I *actually need* my winkey commands.
@@nagi603 Yeah, some winkey commands are actually quite useful, like win+L for screen lock or shift-win-S for fast access to a clipping tool to quickly share something on your screen
I just Googled TGR Jane V2, the switches are $15 for 10 switches (Tiffany Blue Tealios V2 (Linear)), the keycaps (G81-3000SDU) are $250-350 for a set although not easy to come by anymore. Looks like LTT is still way more expensive since they have $2k worth of keycaps alone.
I woud love to see some alternative keycap materials. Ceramic, glass, bone, different hardwoods, etc. I'm sure there are pretty wicked materials out there that would make baller keyboards.
Make a hafnium carbide keyboard. That ceramic costs like $12,000 to make a killo and could happily sustain 3000°C. It would also weigh quite a lot less while feeling like finely polished slate.
That keyboard sounded lovely. A gentle and subtle click. Love it. I actually would buy a kit like that... if it weren't so freaking expensive xD one key cap alone costs as much as both my mouse and keyboard combined.
There are plenty of keyboards out there that sound very very nice for much less money. Look up some videos on the KBD67Lite. A much better entry point into the world of custom mechanical keyboards. Don't forget to lube your switches and stabilizers!
For years I was trying to recreate this at a not so ridiculous price. If you want something similar look for Cerakey keycaps. They are made of ceramic not metal but give a nice marble/dice sound, weigh pretty heft and won't wear out just like the brass ones.

Yeah, that's why most mechanical keyboards come with FN+Win to disable it.
But this one didn't come with it

Imagine how much more it would cost if the keys were labelled
if it was gmk....much more
Although if you were to actually buy this then money probably isn't a problem.
At that point they might as well be milled out and have the labels made out of mother of pearl insets

how can any sane human being access all the shortcuts? windows r, windows x, windows l, windows d, has dixie never actually used a keyboard shortcut? i have the shut down or sign out keys memorized for fast use, and they want to remove the buttons that do it?

I'm pretty sure it
What you can do (like quite a lot of manufacturers are doing nowaday) is to add a way to disable it during games, not to remove it entirely. You can enable this functionality through one of the programmable key you have, can't you :-D.

Same thought here, especially if you want to make it as expensive as possible. Maybe add diamond inlayed keycaps... Or rhodium Keys...
Just you wait until next year
Make a hafnium carbide keyboard. That ceramic costs like $12,000 to make a killo and could happily sustain 3000°C. It would also weigh quite a lot less while feeling like finely polished slate.
But thats just plated, not massive Gold :)
That keyboard sounded lovely. A gentle and subtle click. Love it. I actually would buy a kit like that... if it weren't so freaking expensive xD one key cap alone costs as much as both my mouse and keyboard combined.
