I resisted making one of these in the 1970s, but you've made this old classic more lovely than most I've seen. It's a great theme for the many possible variations! Thank you.

I don’t want to start something new before finishing current things (I’m trying to be better about finishing things), BUT I’m saving this and if you sell a written pattern I may buy it to make this some day. I LOVE the scoop neck and patterns that are simple enough that I can crochet while watching a movie or listening to a book. Thank you so much for the clear instructions! ❤❤❤

I have to tell you, Briana, I made the cascade long hooded sweater with ribbon insert for my granddaughter. She loved it! My younger granddaughter saw it and loved it so! So, I had to make it for her, too! Her mother said she slept in it!

May I know which Shade did you use? How many rolls did you use?

It depends on the size you are making, that info can be found here: brianakdesigns.com/classic-granny-stitch-dress/

I’m currently making one for a 16 year old using the guide. I took some of her measurements for each section. I’ll show pics of how it turns out.

Looks simple and cute. I would prefer half or short sleeve though

The sleeve length can be adjusted

I want to THANK YOU for showing the increases and decreases!!! All of these videos claiming to be a tutorial for the dress are basically just showing how to do a granny stripe pattern... nothing else! I do have to ask, is there a way to keep the neckline from having such a deep scoop? I'd like mine to be more of a slight curve.
Thank you so much for a beautiful tutorial! By far the best I've seen yet!

Your count wrong starting ch 161 and do granny. There 32 holes . You say go in 23 right. Then you skip 5 for neckline.well other side needs 23 also right? Well flowing your measure there only 32 holes to work in 😢

The front and back are not exactly the same in stitch count. More information in the pattern on the blog or the pdf file on Etsy.

Check your gauge, that's the most important thing.

If your guage swatch is right you can change hook sizes. I'm using a 6mm to get the guage correct
