I appreciate the way you design so much. Your tutorials are excellent. Thanks for sharing your experience and techniques. So much prettier than the original.
LOVE this TS dress. I am going to make this for my niece in South Africa, she is 13 and is a huge fan. Thank you so much Briana I hope I can pull it off it will only be my second wearable😂😂
I don’t want to start something new before finishing current things (I’m trying to be better about finishing things), BUT I’m saving this and if you sell a written pattern I may buy it to make this some day. I LOVE the scoop neck and patterns that are simple enough that I can crochet while watching a movie or listening to a book. Thank you so much for the clear instructions! ❤❤❤
I just finished this lovely dress. I was going to give it away but its so cute I have to make another to keep this one. 😂 I really appreciate you. Thank you. 😊
Finally someone who's not exactly make the same dress with the same colors! Thank you it's really cute, reminds me of the Go Go dresses back when....I'm dating myself but yeah love it!
Appreciate that you care about mirroring the right and wrong sides in each neck shaping. It's a pet peeve of mine and I have seen even some paid patterns not caring about it ❤
I had to Google Taylor’s dress to figure out what you were talking about. Yours is MUCH prettier and I’ve seen crochet since childhood and I’m in my early 60’s 😉
Love this dress! Your tutorial was great. Made this in the t swift colors. I used acrylic but I’m going to make another in cotton with shorter sleeves. You made this so easy and showed me where to cut down in sizing (my daughter is 4’10”). I was able to make the neck smaller by removing center rows but added them on the outside. If I didn’t the neck would’ve fallen off her shoulders. It came out perfectly. Thank you for sharing this! I love your yarn choice. The blossom yarn is wonderful to work with. ❤️
I have to tell you, Briana, I made the cascade long hooded sweater with ribbon insert for my granddaughter. She loved it! My younger granddaughter saw it and loved it so! So, I had to make it for her, too! Her mother said she slept in it! Needless to say, I am burned out on that one! So, just in time with this new one! Too cute! Thank you!
I have tried 3 other TS dresses and this one, BY FAR, is the BEST! You’re a fantastic teacher and thank you for that. I’ve only been crocheting for a little over a year and have a big struggle reading patterns. Without a tutorial, I can’t make it!! THANK YOU!! I would love to purchase tutorials!!! Please teach us how to make maxis, sweaters, etc! I’ll pay for a tutorial!! Much love!💕
Just finished up making this dress in Caron blossom cakes using the color Tidepool. It is so pretty and the pattern was easy to follow. I suggest buying the pattern as it helps to use along with the video. Thank you for this!
Love this tutorial. Am almost finished with my dress. My first crocheted dress and it is beautiful. I used Hobby Lobby "i love this cotton" yarn and a 6 mm hook (dont own a 6.5 mm yet). I made a large and chained 181 chains for 34" length. Sleeves are 60 chains for 17" sleeves, but when attached to top of the dress, measures 19". I wish i would have watched all of the video before i started. If i had, i would have added a row onto each side and i would have delayed my neck increases and decreases by 2 rows. I dont like off the shoulder tops and this one was too wide for me. So i had to decrease around the neck quite a bit and it's still a pretty wide neck. Overall, this pattern was very simple and easy to follow. Detailed enough, but not over the top to where you are stopping and starting and fast forwarding the video because you are falling asleep😊. Thank you Brianna for this great tutorial. Oh yes, i found my yarn on sale and spent exactly 35.00 to make this. I am 5'4" and 135 pounds and my measurements are 41/32/40. I bought12 skeins of yarn. 4 of the main color, and 2 more each of 3 other colors. Not much left over.
Oops made a mistake in my calculation. Bought 9 skeins total of the cotton yarn at Hobby Lobby. 3 main color and 2 each of the other color. The total cost was about 26.50.
Finished this dress. Gave to my granddaughter. Will make another for myself. But plan on 191 chains for length and 50 chains for sleeves length. Will delay front section by 2 rows, as neck was too wide, and start 2 rows earlier on side. Other than neck, sleeve length, and dress length, dress fit good. Just need for shorter person with shorter arms. The finished dress looked awesome on my 6 foot tall granddaughter. She loves it and plans on wearing it to a concert next month. Will post results of next finished dress next month. Made this one in cotton, but plan on using #4 acrylic for next dress. I don't think it will make a big difference.
Briana… you have the best tutorials !! Thank you for showing how to make the dress from beginning to end… it is so appreciated, and gives hope to this fairly new crocheter ☺️
Love this. My granddaughters are swifties and one of them loves me to crochet things for her. So off to Etsy I went and purchased your pattern. Now I have to go buy some yarn and call my daughter to get my granddaughters measurements.
Started mine today, using Blossom Cakes as well in the same colorway. I used Blossom Cakes previously to make some sweaters and it's a beautiful fiber. Can't wait to see how this turns out 🙂
Thank you Briana for sharing this lovely pattern. You explain it so well that I am definitely going to try it. Going to subscribe to your channel as well, I just love your videos.
I'm going to start on making the Taylor swift dress I found the colors for the dress. I just watched your video snd you explained it will. But how to I do this with changing colors. Since you are using only one color
Very nice. Made one. Came out perfect, bragging because I’m a knitter😂. Now my 3 and 5 year old granddaughters want one. Any tips on numbers? I think I can wing it probably but did enjoy not figuring, just following your instructions.
This is beautiful. If this was made for a child 9 what yarn and hook would you suggest? I don’t want it too heavy. And I want to make sure the yarn is soft on her skin. Thank you for this pattern
Love the dress! Could you not decrease later to make a smaller scoop of the neck in the back? this would prevent slipping of the garment off the shoulders
I've never attempted clothes before, but I really want to make a version of this dress to wear to the new Beetlejuice movie. How difficult would it be to add color changes throughout that are even? I have no idea how many rows each color should be for it to look good. I'm gonna have to buy the pattern I guess. 😂Thank you for this video!!
Hiya, I came to watch the video to see the end of row 1 on the Back Neckline Section but this wasn't included in the video. The pattern suggests to increase at the end of the row if I'm reading it correctly, but this doesn't seem to align with the other rows? Please help 🙏 😊
I'm reading it the same way... Row one of back neckline decrease seems to have an increase where there shouldn't be one and of course video doesnt show it😅. I thought I was crazy so came to the comments to see if anyone else saw this as well. I'm going to just skip last 3 stitches and double in the last. Briana are we reading this incorrectly?
I am curious if you could skip the decrease rows for the back portion, having the scoop only in the front, to reduce the neck so it isn't quite as open/wide?
Hello Brianna. Thanks for sharing this pattern with the community. I opted with "Yacht Club" colorway. I am loving it so far. My issue is, as I'm working on the back part of the dress, my thighs are getting a sauna treatment from this. And I'm under an A/C vent 😂 as it is 102°f in California right now. Is worsted weight in ideal choice for summer garment? This is my very first diy dress (may that be crochet, knit, or sewing). Should I have gone with DK weight? All the best❤❤❤ PS: love your Ravelry site!
I’m in the beginning of the neckline where I’ve just done a double crochet in the next stitch and a stacked single and then you say, complete the remaining row the same way you would. I get to the last stitch in the first neckline row, turn my work and I do not end up back at the neckline in the middle of the fabric but at the very start of the seam row, but my needle , when finished with the first row is at the opposite end (or the beginning of the row(2) of the neckline. Why, even though I followed every step exactly, did you end your first row in the beginning of the neckline again?
BEAUTIFUL DRESS MS. BRIANNA....DID YOU USE TWO SKEINS OF CARON BLOSSOM CAKES OR ONE SKEIN? THANK YOU FOR SHOWING THE PATTERN TUTORIAL. HAPPY CROCHETING 🎉🧶🎉🧶🎉🧶🎉🧶
It can depend on your tension, it’s possible it might change the stitch width gauge. However, you could do this with the guide because creating that way is more about the measurements

A senior so it has to be below your knees? Posh. I'm a senior too and I'm making this dress for myself and believe me, it won't be below my knees. It is looking like it will be about 3" above my knees. And if anyone doesn't like it, they can look the other way. Shoot, my legs are about the last decent attribute I have left, and this dress is gonna look good up there riding those gams😂.
This may have been asked before, is there a pattern for little girls? My granddaughters are 4, 9, 10 but all different sizes. Im new to making anything wearable, i don’t know how to make adjustments yet.
Hello! I want to make this dress, but I am confused. I am new to crocheting. In the description, what does that mean “to fit chest” and then the numbers, are they number of rows, stitches, inches, centimetres? I wanna make sure before I start. I just finished my first sweater ever and getting the size right was my biggest pain. Thank you!

Yes, you can easily adjust the neckline and I give tips in the pattern on Etsy on how to do so.

I am curious if you could skip the decrease rows for the back portion, having the scoop only in the front, to reduce the neck so it isn't quite as open/wide?
Yes you can. I made a note of that in the pattern. It would make the neckline higher and still look great.
Hello Brianna. Thanks for sharing this pattern with the community. I opted with "Yacht Club" colorway. I am loving it so far. The Carron yarn looks very thick. Does it drape well? Is it too hot for summer? Looks amazing!!!!
I’m already seeing that my length on either front or back is shorter. Can I add granny stitches to even it out? Is there a more uniform way to to it?
