Videos like these basically answer the whole question about why we don’t celebrate birthdays in Islam. Brothers and sisters watch the videos and learn to accept the truth. Rather than being rude and disrespectful towards each other. Remember our words will be made accountable on the day of judgement. Regardless if it’s face to face or on social media through messages. Learn to be not so argumentative and be a person who thinks before just blurting out whatever comes into your minds. This is for myself too, may we all see the perfection and beauty of our religion that Allah has created for us and help us to live our lives appreciating everything he has blessed us with 🤲🏻
It really didn't, because you can celebrate your birthday without pagan rituals. That's why the four Imams have a difference of opinion on the matter. Do your research. I don't celebrate mine, just to be on the safe side. Nonetheless, I'm not going to go around saying it's haram to do so because it's not.

Having celebrated/ acknowledged my birthday for the past 30 years, now finding out it’s wrong as I have come closer to Allah. I personally have no problem with stopping and have stopped but the hard part is family around me still either wanting to celebrate or give me presents or wish me happy birthday. The hard part is How to say to stop it all but not be rude to anyone or cause hurt. I only seek guidance from Allah to make it easier for me. If anyone has any suggestions please comment.
I don't understand why Muslims are so dead bent on following the non Muslims. This isn't a light matter. Allah will never be happy with a pagan like festival. Learn the origin and show your family how it goes against islam. It's not a light matter. Keep the presents for Eid.
So you acknowledged Allah created you on that day 30 years ago. And you choose to ignore it and think you are on guidance? 😂 Wah bro. You’ve gained such wisdom
The first mentions of a birthday came from Ancient Egypt, where large celebrations were put on for the Pharaoh. These celebrations were coronation dates, symbolic of the Pharaoh's birth as a 'god. ' The first of these is said to have taken place somewhere around the year 3,000 B.C.E. It's totally shirk and totally wrong to celebrate birthdays.
There's absolutely nothing "shirk" about birthdays . Only the salafi/wahhabis can make up such comedy nonesense. Almost everything & anything is "bidah" & "shirk" to those people. They have worthless tin pot scholarship.... ...
We don't do birthdays as anything that has got to do with religion, therefore it doesn't count as a bidaa in deen because simply it has got nothing to do with deen Except of course if you do it as worshiping or imitating the kuffar then of course that would be kufr in it self The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, says: Beware of exaggeration in religion; Those who came before you were destroyed by extremism in religion, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, says: Those who are stubborn are destroyed! The reckless ones perished! Entertainment is considered one of the matters encouraged by our true religion, according to the words of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace: “Entertain yourselves hour after hour, for when hearts grow weary, they become blind.” So we need to understand the difference between the bidaa in deen and something we call in Arabic "bidaa aladat" "بدع العادات" Because there are so many things that are a bidaa but not in deen On the authority of the Commander of the Faithful, Abu Hafs Omar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, he said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, say: (Actions are based on intentions, and every person has only what he intended. So whoever’s emigration is for God and His Messenger, his emigration is for God and His Messenger, and whoever’s emigration is for worldly purposes, he will attain it. Or a woman he marries, and his migration is to what he migrated to.” Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim in their Sahihs. . And الله سبحانه وتعالى knows best Oh الله, make the truth clear and enable us to follow it And make falsehood falsehood and grant us the ability to avoid it
You are still adding to the religion and if the prophet peace be upon him didn’t do it then why should we? By adding to religion you are saying you know better than Allah swt. I don’t think it’s worth that risk. By your reasoning that means you think it’s ok to bring a Christmas tree into my house, and give Christmas gifts and sing Christmas Carols as long as I say it’s not religious? May Allah guide us
@elleash3888 1- I agree you shouldn't take the risk for two reasons First it could be sinful Second you will be rewarded if you leave things like these for the sake of Allah 2- this is not adding to the religion because the same would go for so many other things like wearing a football shirt for example We can say that the prophet peace Be upon him and the sahaba didn't wear them But it would be ridiculous to say that it's adding to the deen The same goes for birthdays and anyother celebration that has got to do nothing with religion Unlike of course Easter Halloween Christmas And anything like them
Beautifully put. You explained that so well and so accurately. Alhamdulillah. May Allah bless you. I just hate over-strictness, extremism and fanaticism. I always say: yes to religiosity, piety, spirituality, virtue, righteousness and merit, but no to extremism, fanaticism, rigidity, exaggeration and flamboyance.
1. Imitating Kufar (Orgins of Cake and Candles, Solar Calender Birthday, Pagan Roots) 2. Implicitly associating with religion (People always say they are "thankful" for a new year or they use it to get closer in the deen) If you are just doing #1 then its imitating kufar similar to stuff like Thanksgiving and Valentines, #1 and #2 is clear cut innovation. Regardless its haram and you should stop, I can bring hadith and scholars for reference if you want
Maybe the best way to celebrate a birthday is to go to a mosque... and pray and thank Allah that he blessed you with whatever you have, your new age, your family, your kids, etc.
I worked in an Islamic school as a home room teacher for the last few years. The response from the Principal when I said I didn’t want to give out birthday invitation cards in the students bags was that if I don’t want to do it, no problem, they will have someone else do it but that the invitations will go out regardless. Subhanallah. This upset me.
So my every birthday, I cook for my entire family in the compound, cut cake with my mum n dad cuz my husband live farer, no party no music, just d meal n cake n I sometimes fast on my birthday, Is this something right or wrong? Please my fellow Muslims 🙏🏾
I have 6 years old daughter, we have never celebrated birthday or anniversary , my daughter herself says , mamma we shouldn’t celebrate birthday bcoz we are muslim and it’s not our culture, MashaAllah❤
Almighty Allah's messenger = message Message = Next Life ( Akhirat) Next Life (Akhirat) = Day of Judgement Day of Judgement followed by either Jannah (Heaven) or Jahannam (Fire of Hell) Think logically. So if the messengers were sent into this world to inform the humankind about the next life. Why would any of the messengers waste their time celebrating each year of this TEMPORARY LIFE when their main objectives was remind us about the next life.
I never like making a fuss over my birthdays. I rather spend it by myself and remember the sacrifice my mother made in carrying and birthing me. She died when i was 12 and I'd rather be with her in my memories and contemplations than around others who would force me to have a cake and candles and merriment. It's not for me.
I celebrate birthdays by simply baking avcake no candley then i invite family and friends then we pray to Allah , i think im being grateful and appreciating the fact that Allah increased me in age
you can consume cakes on any random day, it is NOT important that it HAS to be on your birthday, that is a form of kufr, even if your not celebrating your birthday but your doing everything that the non muslims do on their birthday then your indirectly following the kafir. you can eat cake today tommorow whenever but not your birthday, that would count as celebrating your birthday and always make sure to have a pure intention of what your doing and why ur doing it
Eating sweets and cakes on special days is not haram. Hiw can you say it’s kufr. As explained in the video the candle stuff did not even originate from bdays. The OP says they eat cake without candles and make dua so who are you to tell him it’s kufr. It is a shame to judge people for such trivial things when there is so much evil going on in the world
Of course is rong. If you study de biography of the rightly guided predecessors of Islam, non of them ever did it. It is a disgusting innovation and one who calls him or herself a moslim, should not do it. And all the success comes from Allah.
Here we go the Biddah Brigade is out in force....Thank Allah for him blessing you with another year of life....i cant be bothered arguing with the internet Mullahs 😂😂😂
@dianoor4871 It's not a disgusting innovation. It's a good innovation. There is no blame on those Muslims who don't do it since it doesn't say anywhere in Quran or Sunnah/Hadith to do it; but there is no blame on those Muslims who do do it because they are doing it out of love for the Prophet SAWS and Islamic things are being done when the Prophet's SAWS birthday is being celebrated. When the Prophet's birthday is celebrated, Salah is done in congregation, Quran is recited in front of a big gathering of Muslims and food is given to poor people. There is nothing sinful and wrong about that. So I have respect for both those Muslims who don't do it and those Muslims who do do it.

Good question. If we follow our true guide Prophet pbuh then we should not celebrate moulood. We should fast on the day he was born and our day of birth too. Research will show this is an innovation and never was a practise of our prophet pbuh
Within the Family, and without Haram Things of course, I myself See No Problem there, being thankful and celebrating the Gift given to us.by Allah, and showing eachother that WE are Happy for it, I do not see anything Bad about it',
He didnt say birthday celebration but parties right? And didnt say birthday celebrations are Haram in Islam right? It call comes down to how to celebrate your birthday, offering prayers or fasting on ur birthday is celebration too and its not a sin. Your action will be judge according to your intentions right?
Assalamu Alaikum, I understand your point about intentions, but in Islam, we must also consider whether an action aligns with the Sunnah and Shariah. Celebrating birthdays has no basis in Islam, as neither the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) nor the companions celebrated their birthdays. Instead, they marked days of significance prescribed by Allah, like Eid and Ramadan. While your intention might be good, Islam teaches us that good intentions alone do not justify actions that are not part of the religion. Offering extra prayers or fasting can be done any day without associating it with birthdays, which may resemble practices of non-Islamic traditions. May Allah guide us all to the straight path.
birthdays are not celebrated as a religious ccelebrations. and there are many other things that sahabas did not do. they did not study science perhaps will that also be included in innovation. i m still confused. @@Ummahs_Call
@@Ummahs_Call you can check the hadith that Rasulullah Muhammad PBUH love fasting on monday because its his birthday day. It is how you you celebrate it, just dont add something religious like candle, blowing it, or other haram subjects in it.
Yes i agree. Of course as a muslim you want to follow the sunnah. But we cannot possibly live the exact same. My daughter had gotten her drivers license this week and we Will have a little party for her to celebrate and show we are proud. It is a moment for us to gather our families together and for me to welcome them with Nice food and company. Yes we Will also pray and yes we will have Some cake and balloons. I view celebrating birthdays also as a moment to gather everyone we love and connect.
Absolutely right, we are one year closer to our grave, but this does not diminish the Barakah that can be found in practicing Shukr, as encouraged in Surah Ibrahim (14:7): "If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]." Make this occasion proactively charitable-directly help those who are less fortunate than yourself-and you will have earned Allah's (SWT) pleasure while expressing your gratitude for being here for another year. After that, I think a bit of cake would be acceptable.
Your sisters are smart. You’re the dopey one for thinking birthdays are wrong lmao. Explain how eating a cake in your birthday is akin to worshipping another god. Go ahead. Try explain that.
Salam my brother, While it’s true that there is no explicit mention in the Quran or Sunnah about forbidding getting together with friends on a specific day, the issue with birthdays is that they are an imitation of non-Islamic practices, which the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) warned us against: "Whoever imitates a people is one of them" (Abu Dawood). Instead, Islam encourages us to show gratitude to Allah daily, without attaching religious or special significance to occasions not prescribed in our faith.

They move on and enjoy life happily. It’s a phenomenon only observed against Islam makes your wonder. Many scholars have pointed this out. It simply comes down to their own subconscious and heart is at odds with their brain they thought they made a fantastic decision leaving islam yet this tortures guilt never leaves them whenever they sleep think, see or hear islam and it will not end in this life and after. 👍🏽

@fezisheikh3044 Everything has place, not all the good deeds are the same, some are greater than others, likewise the sins are not all same. Allah swt has distinguished the sins into 2 levels major and minor. Our minor sins gets forgiven when we observe 5 daily prayers and stay away the major sins, as for the major sins one needs to repent, give the rights back of people. The birthday; comes under grey area, there is NO text in the Qur'an or sahih hadith to say it's prohibited rather the scholars give their opnions this issue. It is not like eating pork where it's clear haram, but however birthday celebrations can become haram when its associated with sinful acts - all the scholars agreed on this. However when it's not associated with sinful activities it's subjected to differences of opinion of the scholars and one is free to choose any views which he thinks is the most right or he trusts a scholars verdict on this.
Actions are judged by intentions, so “celebrating” a birthday can be an occasion of thanking Allah (GOD) for the endless blessings, realizing how little we have striven to please HIM and how much more we must try to do including asking for forgiveness. No real muslim should be lighting or blowing candles with any other intention.

Jabir ibn Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would praise Allah in his sermon, as He deserves to be praised, and then he would say, “Whomever Allah guides, no one can lead him astray. Whomever Allah sends astray, no one can guide him. The truest word is the Book of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. I love to pray 2 rakats of Nafl Salah on my special day, I am immensely grateful to Allah for sending me for his Ibadaat and for making me a Muslimah. Alhamdullilah I couldn't be more blessed. I don't throw bday parties but spend time with my Mum as she brought me to this world. I cut cake and go out with her, but yes I never used any candles on cake growing up. Islam is a beautiful religion people, we may sometimes do mistakes knowing or without knowing, we should ask Allah for forgiveness. May Allah guide us all

Alhamduliah me and my family were born being Muslim
Just tell them please don't give me presents otherwise I will have to refuse them and I really don't want to hurt your feelings.See you at Ramadan🎁
So you acknowledged Allah created you on that day 30 years ago.
And you choose to ignore it and think you are on guidance? 😂

How on earth is it shirk to celebrate a birthday? Genuinely don't understand mindset like yours. The most that can be said it is haram

We don't do birthdays as anything that has got to do with religion, therefore it doesn't count as a bidaa in deen because simply it has got nothing to do with deen
Except of course if you do it as worshiping or imitating the kuffar then of course that would be kufr in it self
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, says: Beware of exaggeration in religion; Those who came before you were destroyed by extremism in religion, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, says: Those who are stubborn are destroyed! The reckless ones perished!
Entertainment is considered one of the matters encouraged by our true religion, according to the words of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace: “Entertain yourselves hour after hour, for when hearts grow weary, they become blind.”
So we need to understand the difference between the bidaa in deen and something we call in Arabic "bidaa aladat" "بدع العادات"
Because there are so many things that are a bidaa but not in deen
On the authority of the Commander of the Faithful, Abu Hafs Omar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, he said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, say: (Actions are based on intentions, and every person has only what he intended. So whoever’s emigration is for God and His Messenger, his emigration is for God and His Messenger, and whoever’s emigration is for worldly purposes, he will attain it. Or a woman he marries, and his migration is to what he migrated to.” Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim in their Sahihs. .
And الله سبحانه وتعالى knows best
Oh الله, make the truth clear and enable us to follow it
And make falsehood falsehood and grant us the ability to avoid it
You are still adding to the religion and if the prophet peace be upon him didn’t do it then why should we? By adding to religion you are saying you know better than Allah swt. I don’t think it’s worth that risk. By your reasoning that means you think it’s ok to bring a Christmas tree into my house, and give Christmas gifts and sing Christmas Carols as long as I say it’s not religious? May Allah guide us
@elleash3888 1- I agree you shouldn't take the risk for two reasons
First it could be sinful
Second you will be rewarded if you leave things like these for the sake of Allah
2- this is not adding to the religion because the same would go for so many other things like wearing a football shirt for example
We can say that the prophet peace Be upon him and the sahaba didn't wear them
But it would be ridiculous to say that it's adding to the deen
The same goes for birthdays and anyother celebration that has got to do nothing with religion
Unlike of course
Easter
Halloween
Christmas
And anything like them
Beautifully put.
1. Imitating Kufar (Orgins of Cake and Candles, Solar Calender Birthday, Pagan Roots)
2. Implicitly associating with religion (People always say they are "thankful" for a new year or they use it to get closer in the deen)
If you are just doing #1 then its imitating kufar similar to stuff like Thanksgiving and Valentines, #1 and #2 is clear cut innovation. Regardless its haram and you should stop, I can bring hadith and scholars for reference if you want
Out of context

Assalamualaikum I invite everyone to listen holy Quran & Islamic speech from the India🇮🇳❤😊😅😊😅😅😅😊
What if I want to just acknowledge that today I was born and and ask my mom, was 20, 25, 30, etc years ago this day the happiest day of your life ?
Maybe the best way to celebrate a birthday is to go to a mosque... and pray and thank Allah that he blessed you with whatever you have, your new age, your family, your kids, etc.
I worked in an Islamic school as a home room teacher for the last few years. The response from the Principal when I said I didn’t want to give out birthday invitation cards in the students bags was that if I don’t want to do it, no problem, they will have someone else do it but that the invitations will go out regardless. Subhanallah. This upset me.
Islam allows you everyone to be happy a birthday or any occasion is just an excuse to happiness so please 🙏
I had my birthday with a cake and I am Muslim. Well I didn't do candles
@scienceandartclubso what if you did have candles.
You think equating that to worshipping an idol makes sense?
"May everyone who sees my comment pray for the best of prophets and messengers, and may they frequently praise for the continuous blessings upon him."
So my every birthday, I cook for my entire family in the compound, cut cake with my mum n dad cuz my husband live farer, no party no music, just d meal n cake n I sometimes fast on my birthday, Is this something right or wrong? Please my fellow Muslims 🙏🏾
Hand emoji is not allowed to use. It has a meaning which Muslims don't do. Don't celebrate it at all. Why don't you eat cake on Eid?
May Allah save guard us all

Almighty Allah's messenger = message
Message = Next Life ( Akhirat)
Next Life (Akhirat) = Day of Judgement
Day of Judgement followed by either Jannah (Heaven) or Jahannam (Fire of Hell)
Think logically. So if the messengers were sent into this world to inform the humankind about the next life.
Why would any of the messengers waste their time celebrating each year of this TEMPORARY LIFE when their main objectives was remind us about the next life.
What if I did not know this will ALLAH forgive me??❤❤
Sure just ask him, make dua while sujood my brother/sister.
I never like making a fuss over my birthdays. I rather spend it by myself and remember the sacrifice my mother made in carrying and birthing me. She died when i was 12 and I'd rather be with her in my memories and contemplations than around others who would force me to have a cake and candles and merriment. It's not for me.

I celebrate birthdays by simply baking avcake no candley then i invite family and friends then we pray to Allah , i think im being grateful and appreciating the fact that Allah increased me in age
you can consume cakes on any random day, it is NOT important that it HAS to be on your birthday, that is a form of kufr, even if your not celebrating your birthday but your doing everything that the non muslims do on their birthday then your indirectly following the kafir. you can eat cake today tommorow whenever but not your birthday, that would count as celebrating your birthday and always make sure to have a pure intention of what your doing and why ur doing it
It's still Haram in Islam there's no such thing as celebrating a birthday

We in Cape Town celebrate our beloved prophet birthday by having a moulood are you mufti say it's wrong

He didnt say birthday celebration but parties right? And didnt say birthday celebrations are Haram in Islam right? It call comes down to how to celebrate your birthday, offering prayers or fasting on ur birthday is celebration too and its not a sin.
Your action will be judge according to your intentions right?
Assalamu Alaikum,
I understand your point about intentions, but in Islam, we must also consider whether an action aligns with the Sunnah and Shariah.

Actually i cant remember last time i celebrated my birthday n its tomorrow and there are no plans

Your welcome brother
There is nothing in the quran or the sunnah that forbids you getting together with your friends on the day of their birth to enjoy your time together.
Salam my brother,
While it’s true that there is no explicit mention in the Quran or Sunnah about forbidding getting together with friends on a specific day, the issue with birthdays is that they are an imitation of non-Islamic practices, which the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) warned us against: "Whoever imitates a people is one of them" (Abu Dawood). Instead, Islam encourages us to show gratitude to Allah daily, without attaching religious or special significance to occasions not prescribed in our faith.
@Ummahs_Call You didn't invent cars yet you drive them.. that's also imitating the non Muslims?

I am sorry and with all respect but with that logic everything that a disbelievers does is shirk. No Muslim that celebrates some of these days think about the pegan origin. We say hamdoullilah that we can celebrate this day together. We are thinking and extra thoughtful on this day of Allah and makes us more aware of our short time in this Dunya. I dont think celebrating a birthday or showing your love to someone is bad in any way. And if I am wrong in any way may Allah swt al halameen forgive us.
Still a pagan practice if you want to be thankful that you are alive pray salah to Allah SWT
Far more serious things going on with children these days and the haram they are exposed to. Celebrating birthdays is of the least concern.
Indeed true❤
It still a CONCERN and less concern is better
Everything has its place, we mustn’t ignore the fact that birthdays are impermissible and address the issue. Your attitude is wrong.
However when it's not associated with sinful activities it's subjected to differences of opinion of the scholars and one is free to choose any views which he thinks is the most right or he trusts a scholars verdict on this.
take mobile phones and tv away not a birthday cake celebrating the gift of life and the pain our mothers endured
wow, even birthday celebration
i dont think its günah or haram in islam.
This applies only to halal. If someone celebrates Christmas and or Easter and says his intention is just for fun, does that make it ok?
Me and my wife tried to do a birthday to our son many tines we didn't succeed wlhi and we said allah doesn't want us to sinn and we stopped
