    A significant narration relates to the fact that the Prophet fasted on Mondays. When asked why, he explained, "That is the day on which I was born, and on which I received revelation" (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 1162). This fasting is sometimes interpreted as a form of subtle observance of his birth, showing gratitude to Allah rather than an outright celebration.

      @AbuSufyan07
      Correct ✅️
      Therefore we as Muslims should celebrate birthdays following Prophet's guidance, ie by fasting.
      What better way to show gratitude than fasting, which in turn is also beneficial for our body well-being 😊
      As for young children, I made a family & friends gathering (including non-muslim) made him say dua of gratitude, & well- being , supplicate for hidayah, good health and success in this life and next. Ni candles or special cakes. Just glorious food, his favourite food ro be shared with ev1 present. I also made him give out sadaqah.

      I also thought of that when I turned 12, we used to celebrate only a child's birthday in our house with candles, decorations, cakes but now we don't do the birthday song but do a dua, we did dua before. We only cut the cake, no decorations baloons, candles and when we do cut the cake, we say Mubarak (I hope saying Mubarak is fine). After watching this I don't want a cake in my birthday but pizzas and stuff which is the only time in the year where we eat junk food

      I am sorry and with all respect but with that logic everything that a disbelievers does is shirk. No Muslim that celebrates some of these days think about the pegan origin. We say hamdoullilah that we can celebrate this day together. We are thinking and extra thoughtful on this day of Allah and makes us more aware of our short time in this Dunya. I dont think celebrating a birthday or showing your love to someone is bad in any way. And if I am wrong in any way may Allah swt al halameen forgive us.

    Honestly, celebrating your birthday is not forbidden at all in Islam, not in the Quran or Hadith, but the bottom line is how you celebrate it. I fast on my birthdays and pray to Allah to give the reward to my mother. Birthday celebration should not be condemned as a whole but celebrating it a manner of the pagans isn't acceptable. Just like music, good music (good words) is good in Islam, and bad music (bad words) is bad in Islam. May Allah Almighty guide us all. Aameeeen.

      100% right what you have said. Nothing wrong with us Muslims celebrating birthdays, just as long as we celebrate by doing ONLY HALAL THINGS such as just getting together with family/relatives/friends/neighbours, having a nice dinner, children playing together and halal entertainment, and as long as pagan things are not done in birthday parties.

    Videos like these basically answer the whole question about why we don’t celebrate birthdays in Islam. Brothers and sisters watch the videos and learn to accept the truth. Rather than being rude and disrespectful towards each other. Remember our words will be made accountable on the day of judgement. Regardless if it’s face to face or on social media through messages. Learn to be not so argumentative and be a person who thinks before just blurting out whatever comes into your minds. This is for myself too, may we all see the perfection and beauty of our religion that Allah has created for us and help us to live our lives appreciating everything he has blessed us with 🤲🏻

      It really didn't, because you can celebrate your birthday without pagan rituals. That's why the four Imams have a difference of opinion on the matter. Do your research. I don't celebrate mine, just to be on the safe side. Nonetheless, I'm not going to go around saying it's haram to do so because it's not.

    Our Moslem family celebrate birthdays, in a simple way, with prayers of thanksgiving to Almighty God, visiting the mosque on the day if possible, and ending with a family dinner in the evening, with family members present participating in a Dua (supplication), thanking the Divine for the very special day. And, giving Zakat (donation to a charity).

Are you not satisfied with the teaching of deen, or do you need to find ways to pick up a specific day from roman calendar to thank ALLAAH which was never a practice of our Rasoolillaah sallallaahu alayhi wasallam and his companions ( may ALLAAH be pleased with them ) .

    The first mentions of a birthday came from Ancient Egypt, where large celebrations were put on for the Pharaoh. These celebrations were coronation dates, symbolic of the Pharaoh's birth as a 'god. ' The first of these is said to have taken place somewhere around the year 3,000 B.C.E. It's totally shirk and totally wrong to celebrate birthdays.

    We don't do birthdays as anything that has got to do with religion, therefore it doesn't count as a bidaa in deen because simply it has got nothing to do with deen
    Except of course if you do it as worshiping or imitating the kuffar then of course that would be kufr in it self
    The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, says: Beware of exaggeration in religion; Those who came before you were destroyed by extremism in religion, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, says: Those who are stubborn are destroyed! The reckless ones perished!
    Entertainment is considered one of the matters encouraged by our true religion, according to the words of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace: “Entertain yourselves hour after hour, for when hearts grow weary, they become blind.”
    So we need to understand the difference between the bidaa in deen and something we call in Arabic "bidaa aladat" "بدع العادات"
    Because there are so many things that are a bidaa but not in deen
    On the authority of the Commander of the Faithful, Abu Hafs Omar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, he said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, say: (Actions are based on intentions, and every person has only what he intended. So whoever’s emigration is for God and His Messenger, his emigration is for God and His Messenger, and whoever’s emigration is for worldly purposes, he will attain it. Or a woman he marries, and his migration is to what he migrated to.” Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim in their Sahihs. .
    And الله سبحانه وتعالى knows best
    Oh الله, make the truth clear and enable us to follow it
    And make falsehood falsehood and grant us the ability to avoid it

      You are still adding to the religion and if the prophet peace be upon him didn’t do it then why should we? By adding to religion you are saying you know better than Allah swt. I don’t think it’s worth that risk. By your reasoning that means you think it’s ok to bring a Christmas tree into my house, and give Christmas gifts and sing Christmas Carols as long as I say it’s not religious? May Allah guide us

      @noureddeenayman3734 Месяц назад +3

      @elleash3888 1- I agree you shouldn't take the risk for two reasons
      First it could be sinful
      Second you will be rewarded if you leave things like these for the sake of Allah
      2- this is not adding to the religion because the same would go for so many other things like wearing a football shirt for example
      We can say that the prophet peace Be upon him and the sahaba didn't wear them
      But it would be ridiculous to say that it's adding to the deen
      The same goes for birthdays and anyother celebration that has got to do nothing with religion
      Unlike of course
      Easter
      Halloween
      Christmas
      And anything like them

      1. Imitating Kufar (Orgins of Cake and Candles, Solar Calender Birthday, Pagan Roots)
      2. Implicitly associating with religion (People always say they are "thankful" for a new year or they use it to get closer in the deen)
      If you are just doing #1 then its imitating kufar similar to stuff like Thanksgiving and Valentines, #1 and #2 is clear cut innovation. Regardless its haram and you should stop, I can bring hadith and scholars for reference if you want

    Day of Judgement followed by either Jannah (Heaven) or Jahannam (Fire of Hell)

There is no blame on those Muslims who don't do it since it doesn't say anywhere in Quran or Sunnah/Hadith to do it; but there is no blame on those Muslims who do do it because they are doing it out of love for the Prophet SAWS and Islamic things are being done when the Prophet's SAWS birthday is being celebrated. When the Prophet's birthday is celebrated, Salah is done in congregation, Quran is recited in front of a big gathering of Muslims and food is given to poor people. There is nothing sinful and wrong about that. So I have respect for both those Muslims who don't do it and those Muslims who do do it.

    • @Ummahs_Call
      @Ummahs_Call  Месяц назад +4

      Assalamu Alaikum,
      I understand your point about intentions, but in Islam, we must also consider whether an action aligns with the Sunnah and Shariah. Celebrating birthdays has no basis in Islam, as neither the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) nor the companions celebrated their birthdays. Instead, they marked days of significance prescribed by Allah, like Eid and Ramadan.
      While your intention might be good, Islam teaches us that good intentions alone do not justify actions that are not part of the religion. Offering extra prayers or fasting can be done any day without associating it with birthdays, which may resemble practices of non-Islamic traditions.
      May Allah guide us all to the straight path.

    Absolutely right, we are one year closer to our grave, but this does not diminish the Barakah that can be found in practicing Shukr, as encouraged in Surah Ibrahim (14:7): "If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]." Make this occasion proactively charitable-directly help those who are less fortunate than yourself-and you will have earned Allah's (SWT) pleasure while expressing your gratitude for being here for another year. After that, I think a bit of cake would be acceptable.

      While it’s true that there is no explicit mention in the Quran or Sunnah about forbidding getting together with friends on a specific day, the issue with birthdays is that they are an imitation of non-Islamic practices, which the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) warned us against: "Whoever imitates a people is one of them" (Abu Dawood). Instead, Islam encourages us to show gratitude to Allah daily, without attaching religious or special significance to occasions not prescribed in our faith.

Allah swt has distinguished the sins into 2 levels major and minor. Our minor sins gets forgiven when we observe 5 daily prayers and stay away the major sins, as for the major sins one needs to repent, give the rights back of people. The birthday; comes under grey area, there is NO text in the Qur'an or sahih hadith to say it's prohibited rather the scholars give their opnions this issue. It is not like eating pork where it's clear haram, but however birthday celebrations can become haram when its associated with sinful acts - all the scholars agreed on this. However when it's not associated with sinful activities it's subjected to differences of opinion of the scholars and one is free to choose any views which he thinks is the most right or he trusts a scholars verdict on this.
