USB-C rechargeable
Larger battery from 600mAh to 850mAh capacity
Dual switch for user-friendly
Lockout mode
Instant access to moonlight and turbo mode
3 LEDs on the side
Detachable, two-way, and magnetic pocket clip
USB-C charging is standard and universal nowadays, it's convenient to charge your EDC Aurora A28 with any USB-C device like your laptop, quick charge power bank, and wall charger, etc. And the larger battery reduces the frequency to charge and surely increases the runtime.
A dual switch design gets the interface simpler, the top button is for the front light, and the bottom button is for the sidelight. And the detachable pocket clip comes with a magnet, and with the sidelight, the A28 is not only an EDC flashlight but also a work light for hands-free work.
Parameters
Front LED: High Output - CREE XP-L, High CRI - Nichia 219C

Weight: 50.2g/1.77oz
Accessories: User manual, warranty card, Pocket clip, USB C-A cable, Charging port cover, Keyring, O-ring
The RovyVon edc torches are becoming my favourite brand. I can see me buying different models for different uses. Thanks for your information. 👍🍻🔦
What's your favorite so far? I'm really curious what others think. Thanks for watching 🙏🍻🔦
Many thanks for the review of the A28. The high cri is much nicer tint imho, I have that nichia 219c in both A29 and A23 Pro. I was thinking of getting the gen 1 but I think gen 2 is the better choice as it has a larger capacity battery and easily removable pocket clip. 👍😋
What's the biggest difference for me it's the lack of moonlight mode in Gen1. I don't really need the 2 separate buttons, but they do make the UI a bit simpler. And I don't really use the pocket clip. it's thicker now, due to the magnet. thanks for watching! and yes, get the High CRI pls..
Thanks for the review. Probably my next purchase.
I'm sure you'll love it. do let us know what you think when/if you get it (:
thanks for watching.
Thank you for a great review. It was very helpful.
Thank you too for watching, Glad it's helpful (:
the new clip allows it to be fixed to the brim of a cap unlike the old one. Thumbs up for this model
Yeah, I knew the new clip would benefit someone. I don't really wear cap, so clipless for me (:
Thanks for watching!
The E8 is A little too heavy for a ballcap if you carry a triple A battery in it for my liking. Plus, it’s a little harder to adjust on the fly unless you remove it which kind of defeats
the whole purpose. I much sooner prefer the Olight i5r with the one power button on the tail of the flashlight being able to access 2 modes quite easily while still attached on my ballcap for my work (nightshift). It’s a little lighter. I don’t even notice it. I have both since I also have an Angel Eyes E8 as well. I keep mine on my personal vehicle keychain as a backup. Plus, if you actually do the testing, the Olight i5r is far more waterproof than than the E8 and a reviewer has proved as much. I wouldn’t want to risk it by carrying it on my ballcap in a flash downpour or I’d probably be drying it out at the end of my shift. That’s called REAL WORLD testing!
Where do you get that blue and white cord you have on the A8? great vid, subbed :)
I got them locally here. it's the 550 diamond grey and navy blue one. thanks, appreciate it!
Can you please tell us where to find the tritium or glow stick used in your video with correct size for A8 & A28 ? thank you!
Hi, I use the standard 6*1.5 size, but since there's not really a dedicated slot for it, you can probably use different size too. And with glow tubes, you can just cut them if needed. I had some old stock that I bought from nealsgadget and lumintop.
Here's a pic showing both: instagram.com/p/CmDfur5vugD/

Hi can you give me some info on the paracord on the A8? I really like it. Could you do a video on how you tied it and what metal ring you are using??
Thanks, it's just a regular snake knot, with 2 colors. Lookup "paracord snake knot 2 colors" in
youtube, there's plenty tutorial already.
And it's just generic a no name/brand titanium bead I got from AliExpress.
Thanks for watching!
How did you put the tritium inside of flashlight? Did you use superglue or does it fit bu itself?
with the current tritium price, I only put them in timascus 😬 these are glowtubes instead (plus I thought it makes sense since they're next to uv led)
but same idea, I used UV glue (I think it's the most recommended way, since it is clear). I know some ppl use clear nail polish, a bit more messy I would imagine 😅
Thanks for watching!
When replacing the battery you also replace the board and can therefore have different LED options.
Hm, you meant the side leds? I will check, but I think the battery is separate.

@@urbandadcarry That's the bundle that encouraged me to remove my own and I saw the board comes out with the battery.
Allot of customers are complaining about the new firmware which is being used with the a28 Gen2, did you face any issues ? Do you think its less practical ?
Is there any specific part of the firmware that you don't like?
If you meant less practical = complicated, then yes, it is quite complicated, with 4 different leds/outputs and 2 buttons there's no really a simple way to do it. Certainly not for everyone (not a simple on off).
If you don't mind that, then it should be ok. (I'm used to other UIs as well)
I myself don't really mind, and I think it's the one closest to my preference for this type of device.
Although I think dual button is not necessary (and I also think the previous 1 button design is cleaner).
This is my fave from them so far. although they also upgraded the E8 to have 3 different led instead of 3 (more versatile). Down to your preference, in shape/form factor, and the dual-fuel/battery types.
Thanks for watching,
Very nice review! Ordered two of them after watching. One of them suddenly stopped working, Rovyvon is sending me a replacement battery to check if thats the problem, but there is no tutorial anywhere about how to disconnect and swap the battery. Any tips/guides? Thanks again for the review!
Thanks Robin, it's very nice of them. I did open them to install a GITD tube, but I didn't pay attention to the battery, so I'm not sure. Maybe you can try asking them. At least this model is very easy to open (I tore my A8 button when trying to open it). Good luck on the swap, and thanks for watching and for the kind words.
Good

I like that xtorage display case where can i get one for my lights?
Here you go :)

Thanks for watching.
Can it actually sustain the modes it states without stepping down? Obviously not turbo but high mode at 400 lumens?
Sorry for the late reply, I had to try it first. Since I'm not a hardcore user, I don't normally use high mode in a extended time. They don't really specify the step down info in their website as well. And I don't have the tool to measure, but from my naked eye it didn't seem to step down nor it got warm during my test on high. I only tried it for a few minutes tho, lemme know if you want me to test longer. thanks for watching!
@@urbandadcarry thanks for the reply! No problems mate no need to test think I'm moving to a bigger light now but thanks for response
Can you start the strobe mode in direct access?
Yes, triple-clicks the main switch. thanks for watching! (:
I just got mine last week and it's been pretty much my main EDC light.
Only issues I have are sometimes the buttons get stuck under the metal button surround and I can't unclick them
And the pocket clip. Don't get me wrong I love the magnet in the pocket clip, makes the light far more utilitarian in functionality but it also makes the clip harder to reopen to put it back into my pocket because the clip is magnetized to itself so that just makes it incredibly difficult to put back into my pocket one handed
Other than that the light is a near perfect 9.5/10 from me. Perfect for spring/autumn EDC, lightweight but still very capable
right? so versatile, and portable, not to mention good looking ;)
hm, don't have to button stuck issue so far.
I knew someone would love /can take advantage of the magnet in the clip. I noticed that too, that the clip is "stucked" to itself. maybe try to use the other direction (since it's dual direction).
Thanks for watching.. 🍻🔦
Why opt for the high cri?
it's a preference really. you lose some output (not much/noticeable), but gain a "better" light quality, at least for me. it's almost soothing.
And in my test, you will feel the difference in quality much more than the difference in brightness. Thanks for watching!
Can they work while being charged?
Yes it can, I just confirmed it.
Thanks for watching!
@@urbandadcarry Do all the modes work or just the low mode?
@@SodiumSyndicate the side leds works in all modes, the main led only ml, low, med. High & Turbo don't.
Great video. BIGGEST COMPLAINT on this brand is the UI. Why? Try tossing this flashlight to someone who has never heard of it never seen it and just wants to turn light on. Tough to operate. If it is locked out, if it turns on flashing, etc, In fact, a flashlight UI should be intuitive enough where your brain doesn’t need to think or you need a cheat sheet to operate.
Yeah, I agree this is not for everyone. And they are not consistent, probably because there are so many modes, leds, and they're still trying to figure out the best ui. They did keep improving tho. the latest ones have a nicer ui (imo), when compared to previous versions. I just happen to use a lot of different ui and already accustomed to them.
thanks for watching.
no shortcut for turbo??? hell nah
User name checks out 😁
It's probably too small for you 🤭
But there's a shortcut to Turbo, albeit momentary only, by pressing and holding button 2. Thanks for watching 🍻
Man I cannot understand what he's saying in his terminology. But great video regardless.
😅
TL;DR still not perfect (close), but their best yet, imho.
Thanks for watching anyways.. 😬
The more reviews of torches I see, the more I am convinced no reviewer has ever had cause to use one. Just for note: Dressing up a torch in a pretty lanyard and adding it to various other edc toys is not the same as using it.
not quite sure what you mean, but I usually add lanyard to smaller ones, to make it easier to hold (since they are so small & short). and I use most of them, everyday, in rotation. thanks for watching.
huh? you sound dumb 😂
@@Taskforce1If I had no sense and I had to choose nonsense I'd still draw the line before such a response. Isn't it past your bedtime?
@@urbandadcarry Carrying something, however regularly, is not the same as actually using it. What do you use these torches for? I carry a torch and a lantern. I only carry these to help effect any repair I may need to make to my bike during the dark days of Winter. The torch is to see in detail what's wrong and the lantern is to provide enough light to carry out any repair, whilst keeping both hands free. These are used very rarely. This is why one of my key criteria is weight. You talk of these torches in such a connected way as though they are in daily use. I have never known anyone to use a torch on a daily basis and am curious. Finally pardon my comment about lanyards [I know Americans love them]. If something isn't secure when holding it then the user is a big sissy - sorry, lanyards are on par with having your name sewn into your jacket, by Mumsie....
@@waynereid6103or the lanyard just provides extra material to hold on to something as small as your pinkie finger…
