Thank you for this video, I will be attempting this for sure. Do you have a video on how to make the pearl ring you are wearing? I have pearls and would love to make a ring. Thank you for sharing 🙏🥰
We don't have a tutorial on that exact ring, but I think you will like these: How to Make a Messy Beaded Wrap Ring ruclips.net/video/u69_ycUbOW4/видео.html ; Spiral Gemstone Ring Made 3 Ways ruclips.net/video/K-1qO28CEyY/видео.html ; How To Make A Simple Beaded Cluster Ring ruclips.net/video/SdDdpp9Hsno/видео.html
Depends... if your bezel wraps over the cabochon enough, then you should be okay. If the bezel edges are allowing the cabochon to slide around, then I"d personally secure it with a little glue first.
I don’t add glue but if you want to I don’t think it would hurt! Just make sure your wire is through the bead cap before any gluing. Honestly it may be best to wait until you are completely finished with the piece if you want to add glue. - Katy
Rosalee, unfortunately no. But you can buy a flairly inexpensive one online. A quick internet search for "ring mandrel vise" should get you to a viable link! Sorry!
Hi! This is a Steel Ring Mandrel With Rotating 360 Degrees Vise. A quick internet search will get you to a few sites for purchase! Keep in mind this is the kind that your mandrel will screw into. If you want a clamp, you can find those at your local hardware store!
Beautiful. However, concerned about the 24 ga wire? It seems very flimsy and easy to be bent out of shape each time you take it off or on? If use a heavier gauge would you use the same method you showed by securing the wire before you shape them around your cabochon?
If you feel like it will lose its shape feel free to go up to 22 or 20 gauge if you can fit it under the cabochon and through the bead cap. I have not had any issues with my 24 gauge rings but understand your concern! As far as a heavier gauge, yes I would! Let us know if you try this and have any other questions! It’s kind of hard to predict based on bead cap/ cabochon variation but I think the same method would work great. - Katy
I have a bunch of filigree beads that I never used but saved (Because you don´t know why but it´s cool-looking and you might use that {fill in the blank} someday!) Now I know why I saved them. Thank you!
Yes! Sometimes I will use an eye pin for this part. Also, you can slide your wire through before you fully encase your cabochon to ensure it will go through. -Katy
You can do a quick online search for "ring mandrel vise" or you can go the easy route and find a basic swivel head vise from your local hardware store or their online website! Just be aware that you may need a mandrel that can be screwed into vises specifically made to hold ring mandrels. If you have a regular stainless steel mandrel, look into a vise with a swivel head. You can just clamp it around the bottom of your mandrel and use the swivel to position it where you can work easily. Hope this helps!
Just an awesome tutorial and very ingenious idea 💡 for using bead caps! I have made my own gemstone crosses with flattened bead caps but I’m just in love 😍 with another great tip for using flattened bead caps!! Much love 💕 and hugs 🤗 from Florida
Hi! This is a table vise. You can get ones online that are specifically for ring mandrels, but the mandrel itself has to have a place to be screwed in to it. You can use a regular stainless steel mandrel and get a "swivel head" table vise from your local hardware store. Hope this helps!
Do you know a kind of glue for metal and lapis lazulli stone the stone fell off it was glued i don’t know how to repair it thank it’s platinum and steel

I bought a table top vice at Harbor Freight for around $20 just for the purpose of holding my ring mandrel for me. It suctions to the table & it's really helpful. I was a little sceptical about whether the suction would be sufficient but it has a little bar that you pull down that suctions it very securely to whatever surface you're working on. I hope that helps you
🤗 Gooorgeous rings 💍 ✨ . And Hey Love I wanted to ask you do you guys if You guys have a video showing how to make a simple one medium size or large bead Dependent 😃. Because I have a couple of Tiger 🐅 Eye 👁 beads In size 12mm I think or 14mm and I wanted to see If there’s a way to make them into One Bead Pendant Using wired 😣

Brilliant!!! I would like to know though how you make loops for that to be attached to a bracelet or necklace or earings!
Thank you for sharing. Does JTV sell the bench vise you used for this ring I would love to get one .

@@JewelSchool Thank you
Really great idea but you could also tuck those cut ends in the holes underneath the bead caps.
Wow! Thanks for this wonderful idea. 👍💞
Where do you buy a mandrel holder like you are using please~ Thankyou for this video really learning a lot from you all. :-)

Omg! I didn’t realize how to do that. Awesome
Wonderful! But can you tell me the size of the cable for wire? Thank you from Italy 🌹🌹
Hi Cristina! Katy is using a German Style Round Wire in 20ga and 24ga.
Thank you😘
Ahhhh I actually have some French Francs from a trip in the 90s!

What a clever idea! To make the earrings, do you basically thread the wire behind the cabachon and make loops on each side?
Yes! Sometimes I will use an eye pin for this part. Also, you can slide your wire through before you fully encase your cabochon to ensure it will go through. -Katy
@@JewelSchool Hi Katy - Got it - thank you for your reply! =)
Couldn't you use that loop on the one in between one of the bezels and use it to hang it?
Awesome thanks Ms kerin 🙏🙏🙏🤗😘🇨🇴 love ❤️😘 gracias, I will be making my own whit green 💚 stones and red..😘😜
I'm very happy.

Where did you get the clamp from?

Where did you purchase that vise? That would make ring making so much easier as the ring mandrel is stationary.
