Great work, Ben! The shots are really amazing. I was just curious to know if the ZV-E10 would output the same quality with this lens. Also, as it has been two years, I wanted to check if there are any other lenses that can surpass this at the same 18-300 eq. Anyway, great video!
looks fantastic outdoors. Obviously will be a bit more challenging indoors. But as an external walk-about lens, seems super versatile. great vid mate. cheers!
Hello! What is the best or not expensive Vnd filter for tamron 18-300mm sony for video. I bought a k&f concept nano-d but when I zoom out to 200-300 mm the video is very noisy. Thank you for your response.
I have the same lens, do you feel under bright sun light the detail washed out on white color. As compared to under the shade. Eg. The white color on birds and sea waves.
Hello Ben, I'm considering to buy this lens in the near future. I also really enjoy your sports videos. Do you think it would be achievable to shoot sport with this lens to at least similar quality to your videos? I would be using the Sony ZV-E10 which doesn't have an IBIS but it has the electronic image stabilization instead.
I have an A6000 and after 8 years it's almost dead, Viewfiner doesn't work, doesn't recognise the lens have the time. Anyway I have the 55-200mm Sony lens and all I photograph is wildlife, everything from Hummingbirds to Frogs. Would love to know if 18-300m is the next step up for me and also what new body should I get? The 55-200 doesn't cut the mustard anymore, it's crap aperture and just not crispy at all. People are suggesting A6400. My budget is around 1k USD.
Hi Ben, great video you sure have a tallent it's like watching a documentory. That lens seems all good for the price so how long have you had the a6600 and what did you have before that one? Cheers Glenn from the South
@@ben.buchanan watching your video re the Tamron 18-300 made me check out our local photowarehouse store and fortunately they have a second hand lens for $949 with a 3 month warranty and it is $350 less than a new one which has a 3 year warranty- so have you had any problems at all as I have never purchased 2nd hand camera gear. Cheers
Very nice vid and straight to the point, some great work in this and I love the results, this video alone has convinced me that it’s a good purchase although in my case a Fuji fit . Thanks for doing this 👍 . I just need to work a lot on my ability to get anywhere close to the quality of camera work I’ve just seen 😁
That was a 'sick' video dude. I'm a fellow westie and just bought the Fuji XT4 - Thinking of getting one of these as a walk-around lens. Lots of purists slagging off this super-zoom, but it looks really nice to me. Colours look great. - Did you grade the footage much?
Cheers mate. It's ideal for what I want to use it for, but hey, each to their own. As for grading, I use a custom Cine4 profile and LUTS from Mark Bone that are awesome.
hi Ben. I am thinking of getting either the XH@ or XH2S with this lens. should I? I have a Sony A7R4 and a Leica TL2. I need a power zoom . My Lumix S1R is getting too heavy for me. Your thoughts!
I just got this lense and the zoom feels a little stiff yours seemed to be so much smoother... Or does it smooth out over time? Kinda feel like sending it back for a replacement
hello do you think that a stabilized lens + Ibis make a deference? Also do you use full frame glass on the a6600 and do you think it affects the quakity even at the slightest extend?
Does this lens offer any stabilisation in video/photo if used on on something like a Sony ZV-E10? And does it allow for auto-focus when zooming in or out?
Teacher, may I ask, I currently use x-t4, the lenses are xf16, xf56, xf70-300, I am sure to buy tamron 150-500mm, but I also like tamron 17-70 and tamron 18-300, if it is you , tamron 17-70, tamron 18-300, xf70-300, these three lenses, choose two or one, how would you choose, can you give me a reference??? Thank you
Ha, teacher. Definitely don't know about that!😂 As far as the lenses go, the 17-70 is killer and fast, and the 18-300 is a solid all rounder. Never used Fuji though sorry. As far as the 150-500 goes, haven't used that either but very keen to try it out. Maybe I'll make a vid on that one soon 🤔
@@ben.buchanan yeah no problem, this lens is making me regret my A7C purchase. I have the 28-200, but this lens is equivalent to a 27-450mm while also having lens stabilization and better macro

Hi, Ben! Just came here to say: congratulations. Your video and composition is insanely professional. National Geographic style. Wow.

Great video and handheld.
Is it worth the price difference between this and the 70-350 Sony? What do you think 💬
Thanks, appreciate that. To be honest I've never used the 70-350 so not guy to ask about sorry
Thanks I bought this lense for my a6400 it is nice, I still need to work on my basic skills.
Nice!
Enjoying it?
Love that… direct and to the point. I ordered my 18-300 a few days ago and am eagerly awaiting delivery. Cheers!

I have the PolarPro PMVND 2-5. It's awesome, but def not cheap. Plus the Freewell 7in1. Also great and for what you get pretty solid value

Light will always change the look of your shots but I found it pretty well balanced. The colours can come down to how you like to grade it
Cool video mate. Just ordered this lens yesterday, looks like it will do the trick. Love those last couple of gannet shots!
Thanks mate
Such an awesome video! I'm sure its 90% skills but the lens sure does look good.

Extremely beautiful! Which picture profile did you shoot this video with and how did you color grading it? Thanks a lot for your answer :)
I'm using a customised version of PP4 and a Non-Log Sony LUT from Mark Bone to start with and go from there
Hi Ben, Without IS on this lens is it gonna be ok using XT4 IBIS, Beautiful video .... I haven't decided to buy this lens yet...
Beautiful filmmaking Ben 👍🏼👍🏼

Excellent much better than i thought it would be. I definately cant track birds in flight as well as you do. Exellent job. Just ordered this lens.

Stunning video!! Given its aperture, does ot perform well during sunrise and sunset?
Thanks mate. Definitely better suited to daylight!

When I try full zoom, it gets shaky. I'm using it with Sony ZV E10.
Is it normal or is my lens defective? It came in packed fine.
hi is this lens better than sony 70-350 to shoot wildlife?

It's manual mate
