I went keto in Dec. of 2018. Since then, I have lost 145 lbs! I dropped from 395 to 250. I have been back in the gym for the last 2 months and except for a shoulder replacement surgery I have to get, I am feeling awesome. I am disabled due to a list of back, neck, and knee injuries and surgeries that I deal with that were exacerbated by my weight. I now am back to work and seeing gains in the gym. I cannot begin to sing the praises of keto enough for what it has done for me. I hope you have an awesome experience with it also.

I love this whole thing. I had similar thought process....curious to see how my body responded to it. Decided to give it a shot for 30 days. First week or 2, I struggled with cravings, but stayed strong. Talked to a guy I worked with that did it and he said for him, he didnt notice a difference til about 45 days. So my day 30 rolled around, and decided to give it another 2 weeks. And man was he right! Energy through the roof, dropping fat like crazy and best of all, I felt great! Kept at it til 60 days. Got a little lazy and started doing what I called a "dirty keto" the last week of my 60 day stint. Still no carbs but wasn't eating my veggies. It backed me up and bad! Came off any sort or keto for a week. Took another week off keto but cleaned everything back up for a week. And now I'm back on keto. So moral of the story, I became a believer in keto. In 60 days I dropped 30lbs, 6% in body fat and only dropped 4lbs of muscle out of the 30lbs I dropped. (According to my scale)

Thanks for being so open and honest Seth as always! This is a huge change for you. I’ve done keto and felt great experienced many good changes with my body but my workouts did suffer after doing it for 3 months. I started experimenting and found if I eat some carbs before workouts and immediately after I felt like I had much more energy and endurance. I haven’t done Keto since July but thanks to this video I think I’m going to get back on it again I’m scared though because the Holidays are coming up and it’s colder outside which means more holiday food especially carbs and sugar plus warm clothes so less skin exposed which means overall less motivation to do Keto but who know maybe the challenge I need!

9 months cold turkey Keto - Super successful
You should be in keto. Use meter (strips don't work). LIke to track GKI.
Heavy whipping cream in coffee and/or add MCT OIL (consider adding Tumeric and Cinnamon)
See if you can get to have one cup of coffee per day and Macha other once or twice a day
Consider Leaner meats and add fat (grass fed butter, avocado oil, olive oil)
Eggs - Consider 5-6 yolks and one white.
Stay away from Peanuts (including peanut butter). Pecans, Walnuts, Macadamia (acquired)
Headache = Salt (minerals - magnesium, potassium, sodium) Cream of Tar Tar
I add salt to water every other glass, hot water and salt twice a day (all day when fasting)
Consider sardines, liverwurst (huge for minerals)
Morning (apple cider, two tbs of fish oil). The fish oil will make your body work the fat all the time.
Get 85% coca bars and eat small amount every night after last meal
Consider adding fasting. Refeed with protein and bone broth. And two hours later feed normal.

CPowell133 Yep. I have thought about this as well. Very smart balanced approach. Similar to a hearty offseason bodybuilder diet with his modifications added and he made it very doable. It just gets pricey for many on a budget. But i have heard athletes get tremendous results.

@@SethFeroceOfficial My biggest thing was not having the food volume slow me down. I am 6'5" and around 270lbs so the food volume I was eating was making me sluggish. Made a big difference having the food get through my system quicker. I find myself hungry every 4hrs thus making it easier to get the volume of food I need.

I thought all alcohol contained carbs but after Seth's whiskey comment I looked it up and was very surprised no carbs. I've done keto and I never thought of it because I'm not a big drinker but it's good info to have in case in in a social setting with drinks.

Seth you can eat some fruits like berries and watermelon. Pork rinds are a great alternative to chips. Also the app Senza will help tracking and with recipes. I’ve lost 114 pounds on keto in 6 months.

Worth a try. Stevia in the Raw, Kitu Super Creamer (plain not the sweetened shit). Slow down on the nuts, with your size, keep carbs below 50g per day. And get ready to lose up to 30% of your strength. Be careful with the MCT oil. MCT oil is largely unabsorbable unless needed for ketone production / energy. What's not used for energy gets converted into diarrhea for some people.
Some people on keto do front load some fast uptake carbs (dextrose, honey), about 30-50g prior to workouts. None after the workout though.

I tried watching both Seths and Greg's points of views and honestly, I think Seth took Greg's "professional critique" as "criticism and bashing." Greg has a very sarcastic type of personality, but he means well and is honest. Greg even said multiple times in the original video that he LOVES Seth. However...
Seth and Greg both get worked up because there passionate, but Seth starts calling people names and insulting them on a personal level because he was upset and thought what Greg was doing was "criticizing him." Greg was only making a video about the state of ketosis, how he was eating, and why it clearly wasn't working, and it's understandable to take Greg's attitude and shouting as criticizing I guess.
In the end, Seth got butthurt about Greg's video instead of looking at it from a "poking fun" standpoint, WHICH IT WAS. It's understandable to get butthurt sometimes, but Greg never once criticized Seth on a PERSONAL level. Seth called him names and a "shit bodybuilder," a "low-life bodybuilder," and much more. That's a little much man.
Hopefully, Seth thinks about his comments and insults towards Greg.
It takes a man to apologize. Seth and Greg are BOTH still amazing people that I still follow and look up to, but attacking someone on a personal level for only making comments on your diet, is a low blow and just makes you look like a fuckin asshole.
***Seth, I hope you apologize to Greg and all of YOUR followers as well. Greg really means well and clearly did not attack your character, bodybuilding status, or intelligence. It was actually quite the opposite, he supported and liked you. Just like one of us.

Seth I lost 180 lbs in 2015 doing keto before it was so popular I came out a few time but just feel better in it.. February this year I was in a bad accident flipped my truck broke 5 ribs. tailbone..and crushed a verbrate I went from keto to carnivore it really keeps my inflammation down ..I like crunch so..pork rinds help..I was always a big coffee drinker..it took time but for me I switched to a strong dark roast for more flavor ( foldgers black silk)..for me I don't know why any peanut butter kicked me out of ketosis..and I always felt better being under 20 carbs..the only thing I've seen consistent with everyone is everyone seems to have more energy if they stay under 20 carbs.

    Feels great at first.
1.After a few months the gut bacteria staves and you lose good bacteria. Fiber supplements
    2. you start to get dehydrated- carbo-HYDRATES, electrolytes
    3. You start to need to keto to reduce inflammation. MCT oil
    1 or 2 months a year it’s great.

Been Keto for just over a year now. IF for 6months. It's a different world. I lost 60lbs without losing muscle. Energy is very different. I used to have quick explosive energy and had trouble maintaining energy long term. I'm opposite now. My last 15k run felt the same from beginning to end. It's also a wonder for my ADHD. Had to stop taking Adderall.

When i started the keto journey...my weight was 92kg and im 21 years old. Now im on 74kg. But im on a keto on steroids diet, where you combine keto with 20:4 fasting. Theres days where im not eating for three days straight and i promise you ....i do not get hungry or any cravings. And i feel like a fucking beast.
Me and my dad watch you all the time.... love your videos man....

not sure if anyone told ya yet but every gram of carb you consume makes you hold 2-3g of water. so a huge majority of that weight you lost was water. lots of people i know go low carb to lean out and feel more cut. just kills any bloat that's present. if the calories are the same as your carb diet you'll basically only shed the excess water. make sure to keep your electrolytes up too.

  • @mulchman

Did strict keto (less than 20g carbs) for 19 weeks. Lost 45 pounds. Only problem for me was that I dump electrolytes like crazy so it was nonstop adding sodium to everything, including water. Loved being able to go really long periods without eating, though.

The hard part is comparing the keto experience/results of people who aren’t augmenting their own hormone profiles with your keto experience. At least you are open and honest about what you do, take, and dosing which is why I have the utmost respect for you and your work. That said, all of that in your system will largely pad out the inefficiencies of a straight keto diet. Your body will burn what fat it has because that’s the only option. You’re still building and maintaining and using muscle to a degree that it won’t atrophy at all. Make sure to have your metals checked. Keep your calcium, vitamin D and K intake up, too. Good work, Seth.

lol a week.. bro.. give it 3 months... (took me about that long for my height, weight, age, etc..) there will be one day where you realize you are in super deep Ketosis. its the shit. I one day realized at like 9pm, that i had a ton of energy after a super long day of activity. (golf, gun range, workout)... it was awesome! u should, imo, do a weekly or every other weekly carb cheat. no sweet but good carbs. its good. no fat, and healthy protein and carbs (rice, sweet potato) on that day. hope that helps.
