  • I've gotten lots of things from Staedtler, but this is my first (only) fountain pen from them. Does this fountain pen hold up to the quality of their regular pens and highlighters? Is it worth the cost? Check it out!

    I suppose the cap is heavier because they needed something more substantial than plastic to anchor the clip. Today I see it on Amazon US at $49 for the white and $64 for the black, with a Fine nib.

      Yep, those deals will fluctuate. Amazon does that all the time. You're probably right about the cap, though I think they use that same finial/clip arrangement for all of the materials, so it's also maybe a style thing.

      @@inkdependence I just read an article about dynamic pricing, which I should probably read again. Is that what Amazon is doing?

    They did technical (drafting) pens back in the 60s and later.

      Yep, I've seen some of those I think. Similar to the Rotring ones, aren't they?

      Still do

    Every pen made in Germany comes in black. I like long clips as well.

    I was quite interested, until you took the cap off... Shiny metal section huh :( That's a shame. Still, I might have a look and see what else Staedtler has going on.

      Yeah, that section isn't going to be for everyone. It looks classy, though.

    What is the grid-lined notebook you used for listing the pen specs?

    • @inkdependence
      @inkdependence  2 месяца назад +1

      That's a Midori "Notebook for printable stamps." I like the format and all that, but it's not perfect for fountain pens. The ink tends to spread more than I want, though it doesn't bleed often.

    I just saw it on Amazon UK for $34 with free shipping. Long delivery quote though. [Didn’t buy it].

      Yeah, they're super cheap on Amazon. Wild, huh?

      I can see why people might be drawn to that pen, but it doesn’t appeal to me. I usually prefer colors to neutrals and section looks slippery. It’s always a relief when there is a pen the charms of which I can resist.
      It’s a good review though.
