Thank you for making this video. I was able to replace my third brake light in my 2011 Malibu. Thank you so much.

By far the best video to replace 3rd brake light, I have a 2010 LTZ version and i took me about a 1.5 hours to replace the brake light unit, Chevy dealer here in New jersey wanted $465.00 parts and labor!! The part from Rock Auto was only $62.00.

This video made it possible, it was worth the hassle to get those horrible speakers changed... The hardest part for me was getting the trim back into place, but really want too bad

Great instructions. Clear video. Hopefully my 2007 Malibu will be similar.

Thanks for the video. It was a great help. I just replaced the rear deck speakers with a new factory pair on my 2011 Malibu. Nice to have the full sound back.

My third brake light malfunctions and doesn’t come on at times so I’m assuming it’s an electrical/wiring issue. I bought a brand new one hoping to replace the original on my day off. This will be a pain.
I’m also dreading replacing my headlight bulbs someday when it goes out because you literally have to partially remove the front bumper with tools. GM made simple things so complicated. I can’t imagine women drivers who own 2008-2011 Chevy Malibu working on their cars so GM wanted dealerships to make money by guaranteeing service center stays busy.
My front speakers don’t work all the time (probably an electrical issue) as well as my power mirrors/trunk release button also malfunctions… too many electrical gremlins in my 2011 Malibu..🤦‍♂️

Thanks. I just installed an aftermarket SiriusXM tuner after swapping out my old radio. I'm going to have to remove the rear deck lid to run a FAKRA extension cord to my OEM satellite radio antenna plug that's connected to the XM box underneath the passenger side rear speaker. The included aftermarket omni-directional antenna isn't as good as the OEM shark fin antenna on the roof.
